Welcome to your home away from home in Amsterdam’s charming Jordaan neighborhood. Positioned at the intersection of the Prinsengracht and Bloemgracht canals, this historic duplex guest-suite offers stunning canal views and is ideally situated across from the Anne Frank House and the towering Westerkerk. The Westerkerk's bell tower is the tallest structure in the city center, adding to the unique character of your stay.
The Space
Your private guest-suite is a stylish, self-contained duplex within our historic 1657 canal house, which has been meticulously renovated to blend modern comfort with historical charm. The suite spans two principal floors of this seven-story building, where we reside on the top three floors. Below your suite is our wine school, where we offer wine classes and tastings.
Bright and Open: The dual-aspect design with large east and west-facing windows ensures the space is flooded with natural light. The open-concept layout provides a great flow and a positive energy throughout the suite.
Modern Amenities: Despite its historic nature, the building has been upgraded to meet 21st-century standards. Enjoy fast internet and a spacious table ideal for working remotely. We can also provide ergonomic chairs and a computer monitor upon request for longer stays.
Gourmet Kitchen: The high-spec German kitchen includes stone countertops, a full-size dishwasher, an induction hob, an oven, a fridge-freezer, and a European-style washing machine. Feel free to cook your own meals, but we kindly ask that you clean up after use.
Guest Access
Private and Shared Areas: Your guest-suite covers the first and second floors of the property, with a shared entryway from the street level. The suite includes an open-plan living room, dining area, and kitchen. The door to the guest suite does not lock, but we respect your privacy and will only access the space for necessary maintenance with prior notice. Your bedrooms and bathrooms are fully private.
Wine School: Below your suite is our wine school, where we host wine classes. Feel free to inquire about private classes if you're interested.
During Your Stay
Health and Safety: We operate under a B&B permit and live on the premises. During the pandemic, we adhere to all RIVM (Dutch Health Board) protocols, including social distancing and wearing masks. Sanitizer is provided. While we’re happy to offer local tips and insights, we respect your preference for privacy during these times.
Continental Breakfast: We provide basics for a continental breakfast at no additional charge.
Stairs: The apartment is located on the first and second floors, accessible via stairs. The open-tread stairs can be intimidating, so the space may not be suitable for younger children, the elderly, or those with mobility issues. There are approximately 20 steps from the street level to the living area, and an additional 15 steps to the bedrooms.
Noise: Situated in the heart of the city, the apartment is exposed to typical urban noises, including trams, cars, and occasional construction. The historic windows do not double-glaze, so you may hear the Westerkerk bells and street noise. Thick curtains and provided earplugs or white-noise machines can help mitigate this.
Beds: The apartment includes two large beds: one 160cm x 200cm and one 180cm x 200cm. We do not have space for extra beds, so please ensure this configuration suits your needs.
Guest Limit: The maximum number of guests is four, including children and infants, per our short-term rental permit. Exceeding this limit will result in cancellation of the booking with no refund.
Furnishings: The apartment is furnished with a mix of antiques and modern items, some with sentimental value. It is not designed for heavy use, so it may not be suitable for families with very young children or particularly boisterous groups. Please inform us of any damage so we can address it promptly.
Security: The internal door to the guest suite does not lock. For security, please ensure the street door is locked when you leave the house.
