House on the Oval is a farm stay NSW retreat that finds itself on a patch of oval green grass, lending a cozy getaway or pitstop to wanderers and adventurers, just by the outskirts of Albury city. It’s home to the winding Murray River and its waterways, an array of food, cultural icons, contemporary museums, and secret resting spots around every corner.
The Space:
House on the Oval sits on a campsite just next to the popular Ettamogah Pub, an icon of the region, and a themed family restaurant, just an hour’s drive away from the city of Wangaratta. The stay allows exploration of Albury and its delicious food scene, endless outdoor adventures, and a thriving arts culture such as Lake Hume, Albury Botanic Gardens, and Woolshed Falls.
It's a cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with comfortable and well-furnished guest rooms, wide public spaces, and comfortable seating areas. Easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

The Neighborhood:
House on the Oval is situated in a campsite, near the city of Albury, and is just an hour’s drive away from the city of Wangaratta. The locality is peaceful and quaint and just off the beaten track, and with Ettamogah Pub next door, refreshments, breakfast, and drinks are just by your doorstep!
Our local recommendations:
- Lake Hume features Hume Dam, one of the largest dams in the world. By taking a walk along the dam, you can experience outstanding views of Lake Hume, which is a haven for recreational boating, water skiing, and fishing activities.
- Get lost in the natural beauty of Albury Botanic Gardens, one of Albury’s most treasured icons with established trees, meandering pathways, and garden beds.
- Woolshed Falls is for nature lovers and history buffs, once a center of the richest goldfield in Australia, you can enjoy the views of cascading waterfalls and have a leisurely picnic by the valley.

- It’s 4 hours from Melbourne; 3.5 hours to Canberra; 5.5 hours to Sydney
- Reachable by 2WD and 4WD.

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas, and clean after your pet’s droppings
- Smoking is allowed only at designated area outside the tiny house, 50 meters away
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- Please clean up after your pet’s shedding before checking out in courtesy of other guests
- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- Mobile reception is good for Telstra; Optus has weak signal; Vodafone, 2degrees and Spark has no signal
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
