The Boathouse at Bonnells blurs the line between an idyll coastal retreat & luxury villa. The perfect getaway for two, the property strikes the right balance between laid-back and super-lux, offering a private jetty, boat ramp, spacious deck, separate wet bar, full smeg kitchen, and more. The Boathouse at Bonnells is a unique, laid-back-lux, absolute waterfront, premium property that you simply won't find anywhere else in Lake Macquarie.
Mere footsteps from the water's edge, this sublime absolute-waterfront property is bordered on one side by a lush, tranquil and sweeping waterfront reserve.
Surrounded by lush gardens, the property comes alive at night, with pretty solar lights sprinkled throughout, and is the perfect oasis to kick off your shoes and let any of life's worries float away.
Open your full-width bi-fold doors to create a seamless indoor-outdoor connection to the elevated deck area, and enjoy the expansive 180 degree water view across Bonnells Bay.
You will enjoy direct access to the water, via your private jetty or your (shared) boat ramp. Or, you could spend your days reclining on one of two luxurious sun loungers, shaded by your thatched outdoor umbrella, enjoying the shimmering light dance across the lake.
The Boathouse at Bonnells offers one king bedroom, and sleeps 2 people. It has a bathroom en-suite with rain shower, plus an additional powder room for your added comfort. You will enjoy a full Smeg kitchen, laundry facilities, as well as a full wet-bar area, with wine dual temperature wine fridge.
All linens and towels (except beach towels) are provided, as well as kitchen accouterments including crockery, cutlery, glasses, utensils, saucepans etc.
The property is fully stocked with all you might require to escape from it all, including a large Samsung 55 inch Qled 4K TV, Samsung 12 kg Bespoke Washer and 9kg Bespoke Dryer, as well as a Smeg Microwave, large integrated Fisher & Paykel Fridge Freezer with ice-maker, integrated Smeg Dishwasher, Smeg Oven and Smeg Induction Cook top.
To make sure you have everything you need at your fingertips the Cottage also includes a De'Longhi Nespresso Creatista Plus Coffee Maker, as well as a toaster, kettle, hairdryer, Dyson Animal Stick, ironing facilities, 3 handy USB charging points, and more!
A welcome pack with hand-selected treats will await your arrival.
The property is air conditioned throughout and boasts broadband internet from corner to corner.
You will find yoga kits in each apartment, and plenty of firewood and throws for nights around the fire pit.
Off-street parking is available. A Tesla/EV Charging station is also available on-sites.
The Boathouse shares the site with a cottage located at the front of the property (which is offered as a holiday let), as well as a separate listed space, nestled underneath the Cottage - known as The Hideaway at Bonnells. Should you wish to share an escape together with friends or family, yet still enjoy your own private space, you may wish to book The Boathouse and The Hideaway together.
The Boathouse has been cleverly and intentionally designed with your privacy in mind. It has it's own discrete and private entrance, via the stepping stone pathway that leads down to the waterfront, as well as it's own gated access to the waterfront reserve.
The property offers a separate outdoor entertainment area, BBQ, Fire Pit with seating, outdoor hot & cold shower, private jetty and boat ramp (shared with our neighbours). Please note that these spaces may, at times, be shared with guests who are staying at The Hideaway, depending upon bookings.
This is a strictly NO-Smoking property.
No pets are permitted in order to protect the Black Swans and Pelicans, and other beautiful wildlife around the lake.
As a note to those with mobility restrictions, this property is accessed via a downhill stepping stone path, with internal access up a series of stairs.
Please also note that this property does not contain a bathtub.
Linen: All beds are made ready for your stay, prior to arrival with quality linen, including bath towels.

The guest will nominate the number and identity of guests (including providing each adult guest’s full name and mobile phone number) that will occupy the property and will not allow any other person to enter the property. Additional guests at the property will incur additional charges.

You will be provided with limited supplies for your first night's stay and we recommend organizing a shopping trip to pick up items like toilet tissue, shampoo, washing detergent, cooking oil, coffee, condiments, etc. for the duration of your stay.
