The Space

The vibe is set as soon as you step inside Casa Ellora, with the main hallway drawing your eye toward the pool and the arch beyond.

The primary bedroom is to your left—complete with king-size bed, two-sink ensuite, walk-in closet, writing desk, and private covered patio—the two secondary bedrooms are down the hall to your right, while the rest of the villa awaits you straight ahead.

Three steps down take you into the grand sala: a chef's kitchen that boasts all the amenities you've become accustomed to, a four-stool island, and a peek-a-boo bar window to the outdoor kitchen; a custom-built dining table that seats eight comfortably (and 10 cozily); and a well-appointed sitting room with plenty of seating, custom art, and a 65-inch smart TV with sound system.

From the sala and its 22-foot ceilings, you float through the 16-foot sliding doors onto the expansive covered porch, giant daybed to your right (which can double as three additional single beds, mosquito nets available), outdoor kitchen to your left.

All that's left is the rejuvenating saltwater pool. With palms on one side, cacti on the other, and a striking arch feature, you can spend your days on one of four loungers or in the pool itself, on the tanning ledge or sitting on the built-in pool benches.

And with no neighbours on three sides and a tropical nature reserve right across the road, the most likely sounds will be the macaws and the family of monkeys that inhabit the surrounding jungle.
