This charming little ocean front beach house has it all – location, location, location! Not only is the home located on one of the best stretches of beach in Newport, the boardwalk ends at the patio, so visitors can enjoy the best of both worlds - the boardwalk is steps away, but the sand is, too – the beach comes right up to your patio. The house features an upgraded kitchen and baths and an oceanfront master off the patio.

The bedrooms are downstairs and the kitchen and living area are upstairs – to maximize ocean views. Granite counters and a breakfast bar with three stools give the kitchen a friendly, functional feel. The large dining table has six chairs for family meals. The oceanfront living area with a large sectional couch, futon and a flat screen TV.

Both bedrooms are on the ground floor as well as a large Jack and Jill bathroom with a walk-in shower with dual shower heads. The master bedroom has a king bed, sofa, wall mounted flat panel TV and French doors that open out onto the beachfront patio. Two sets of twin bunk beds in the second bedroom accommodate four, so the kids can all be together.

The home offers exceptional sunset and Catalina Island views plus views north to Palos Verdes and south to the Newport Pier. Right on the sand, the front patio has comfortable seating, a gas barbeque and an umbrella. Family memories made playing on the beach, in the waves and spending time with one another will last a lifetime.

A full-size washer and dryer are located alongside the one-car carport in a locked closet.

The beach at 36th Street is perfect for sunning, swimming, and surfing. Jetties at 32nd and 36th St keep the waves manageable for most of the year and shape the waves to make the beach here family-friendly.

Exploring the Peninsula by bicycle or on foot is easy via the boardwalk. The Newport Pier area is just a short stroll from the rental, with dozens of shops and local eateries. The Peninsula’s only grocery store and more shops and restaurants are all just a short walk from the home. You’ll want to come back year after year to truly discover all the area has to offer!

Perfect Beach Cottage

This is the perfect getaway spot- Right on the beach. Love the vintage house- so pretty and fun- big giant sliders open on the balcony- lots of air and light upstairs. Good parking, beautiful view, quiet area (end of the boardwalk), good access to restaurants and markets and rentals. Love Newport Beach. Advice- bring your own linens and bedding, if possible- more comfortable. I would rather rent than own vacation homes, and this is a great one for a couple alone or with one or two kids.

Great location

The property was perfect!! Right on the beach with great views. I would definitely have our family stay here again. House is not perfect but had everything you need. Great communication by Burr White reality. Cant go wrong with this place. I would advise future guest to bring beach seats and a canopy as you will most likely be on the beach a lot and maybe bring a small tub to fill with water and place at the patio entrance from the beach to wash the sand off your feet before stepping into the property. It will definitely help with keeping sand out of the house. Just a suggestion. Thanks again for the stay at this house...until next time!

Little House On The Beach

You can’t ask for a better spot, perfect view of the ocean and sunsets. Loved watching the surfers in the morning. The boardwalk ends right at the house, so the beach wasn’t that crowded. The downstairs patio furniture needs replaced, one of the cushions is torn and a couple of backs of the wicker chairs were broken. The grill had a foul smell to it, so we did not use it. The downstairs bathroom did have a roomy and updated shower, water ran well and never ran out of hot water. However, the door connecting to the smaller room doesn’t latch. Both BRs are downstairs, the master BR has a king size bed, a couch, and TV. Although there is no closet, there is a bureau to hang clothes in and another cabinet with plenty of shelves to place items on. The 2nd BR is much smaller and has no windows. It does have a closet, bureau, and 2 sets of bunk beds. No tv. Both BRs share the bathroom. There are no ceiling fans, however there are fans available to use (we never needed them). The sheets and towels are provided by a 3rd party. We were provided with 1 set of towels, wash clothes, and hand towel per person for the entire week. I had known about this from reading previous reviews, so was prepared with bringing some extras from home. There is also a washer, dryer on the premises, but didn’t use it. The kitchen, living room, and a 1/2 bathroom are located upstairs. There is also a balcony upstairs that looks out to the ocean. The upstairs bathroom is okay. There were 2 rolls if TP stocked for each bathroom. There was a small travel-size bar of soap for each bathroom, but not nearly enough to wash hands and shower with. We had anticipated this and brought our own hand/bath soap along with shampoo, conditioner, and lotion as this isn’t supplied. The kitchen had plates, bowls, glassware, pans, utensils, and the stove worked well. The refrigerator looked a bit banged up, but was clean inside and kept our food chilled. The sink is fairly large, was glad we checked the garbage disposal out before we tried to use it as it didn’t work. There is no storage bags or containers, and very little aluminum foil / plastic wrap. There was plenty of dish detergent, and kitchen trash bags under the sink In regards to price, I think the location and views are worth it, but the house… not so much, it needs some repairs / updating. Lastly, I think Burr White should give guest more than just 4-5pm to check in

If I wouldn’t have sent an email Saturday asking for checkin instructions I wouldn’t have had a clue what to do… and when you arrive after a day of traveling you have to strip all the beds and make them yourself which isn’t easy when there are bunk beds… the couch and futon you can’t sit on because it’s so smelly and dirty… not to mention all the broken and rusted patio furniture… it’s a shame because the location is awesome.. we will not be back…

It's a great location, just off of the boardwalk and right on the beach, so there is much less foot traffic and noise. We sighted dolphins every day and sometimes multiple times a day during our stay. The home is a bit dated and needs some TLC as wall are damaged, lights burned out, etc. The floor plan takes a bit of getting used to as the bedrooms are on the first floor with the kitchen and living area on the 2nd floor.

Definitely rent bikes for your visit. Makes it very convenient to get around and beautiful ride between Newport and Balboa Pier. Surf lessons are a plus. Disappointed with condition of the house. It was run down and could use some updates. The windows had no screens throughout house and most windows you could not open downstairs. Master bed, Blinds and curtains really need to replaced. Highly Recommend that you bring own pillows and blankets.
