Enjoy the beauty of this 1920’s-character cottage featuring 3 bedrooms, well-appointed living spaces and gleaming polished timber floorboards throughout. The renovated bathroom steals the show with a gorgeous freestanding claw foot bathtub where you can sit and soak the day away.
You'll be a breezy 3-minute drive from the CBD, while tucked away in a quiet street.
The Space:
Arrive at the property and be greeted by a charming weatherboard cottage.
Step inside, where you'll discover an eclectic mix of décor that perfectly blends with the home's original charm. Off the entrance hallway, you'll find two spacious bedrooms, each offering ample storage—one featuring a luxurious king bed while the other houses a delightful queen.
Venture further to the cosy living-dining room, brimming with unique touches and character. Here, you'll find comfy seating, a Smart TV and a quaint four-seater dining area. The third bedroom, connected to the living space, features a snug double bed.
Right near the living area is the well-appointed kitchen, equipped with all the essentials, cookware and appliances you'll need. Just a heads-up, there's a small step in this area, so please be careful!
The property also features a gorgeous bathroom with a separate toilet for added convenience and privacy. With a walk-in shower and a stunning claw-foot bath, it's the perfect place to unwind after a long day of travels.
Inside the communal laundry area, you'll discover a washing machine, dryer and laundry essentials to make your stay as convenient as possible. There is no off-street parking available for the house; however, there is plenty of free on-street parking directly outside the property.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the property at any time via a secure lockbox. The driveway and laundry are shared spaces.
The Neighborhood:
South Launceston is a lovely and diverse suburb, known for its mining cottages built in the early 1900's. Being the first suburb South of the city, South Launceston is only a short walk or drive into Launceston’s city centre. With this hard-to-beat location, South Launceston provides you with access to many eateries, retail shops, amenities and Launceston’s city centre with ease.
Whilst exploring the suburb, we recommend stopping in to Guerrilla drive-through coffee to start your day. Wellington Street runs through the suburbs centre, with popular restaurants, take-aways, hairdressers, beauty salons and boutiques branching off either side. You'll be spoilt for choice for food and drink options, with an array of food vans serving up delicious goodies each day.
Nearby, you will find the Door of Hope facility housing Launceston's most popular gym, a café, a childcare centre, conference facilities and a church.
Coronation park, containing a sporting oval and small playground, is located in South Launceston. Other local parks include Princes Square, full of historical fountains, and the City Park which is known for its beautiful oak tree gardens, playground for the children, a plant-filled conservatory and cheeky snow monkeys.
Wander down to Launceston’s city centre, where you will find yourself surrounded by many of Launceston's most iconic historical buildings. You will find many tasty cafés and restaurants, an array of shops and boutiques and a vast range of cocktail bars and pubs.
South Launceston provides you with easy access to the Launceston General Hospital, and Charles Street, where you are sure to find many eateries and bars. Other restaurants and bars of note include The Black Cow Bistro, Cataract on Paterson, Café Mondello, Novaro's and Cinco Passione's, who serve up arguably the most tasteful cocktails in the city.
The Cataract Gorge is a spectacular natural formation where you can enjoy long and short walks, fresh water swimming basins, the world's longest single-span chairlift, a play area, BBQ’s and vibrant peacocks! An additional, unique way to experience this attraction is via the Tamar Cruise vessel, which cruises through the waters that carve between the rocky formations.
