When we arrived the house was not properly cleaned. Floors were unswept and not vacuumed, sand on the countertops, old food/drink stains on tables and counters, makeup stains on bathroom counter, hair in the bathrooms, old tooth floss picks on the floor. The outside of the house and pool area were in need of a power wash. There was green mold and dirt. The slider to the pool area from the house would not shut properly or lock, which is unsafe when we have a 2 yr old and an open pool. The house was not furnished like it was in the pictures (different bedroom furniture, different carpet even, so clearly these are very old pics). There is a red ant problem mainly in the upstairs bathroom but even found them in our bed. And the kicker was a couple of roaches in the master shower. That was on the third night and after back and forth emails to get things remedied for the first three days, nothing had been done yet. We spent the first day and a half of our vacation, cleaning the house. We decided to leave after the roach encounter.
We found place on the island to stay, changing places mid vacation. The management company Kingfisher did the right thing in ensuring the days we didn’t stay were refunded. We requested a refund also for the difference between the cost of the equal value place that we found and what we had paid for this property. The owner chose not to do that, so we ended up spending more to move and have a clean, bug free place.
While the location is good, and we appreciated Kingfisher (the management company working with us), we were disappointed in the property and the ultimate decision of the owner not to make it fully right. As such we would not recommend this property as is.
