We loved the large deck area to have meals. It was leafy and breezy and very accessible. We also loved the separate self-contained areas to relax.

Maintenance is needed
Location was great and there was lots of room. Handy having spilt level with the group we had. However, spot mould was found in several areas on the ceiling throughout both levels. It seemed as the property hadnt been maintained prior to our arrival, with a heap of leaf litter outside. However, There was a little mould

Disappointed by our rental Stay on North Stradbroke Island
We rented what we hoped would be a relaxing getaway on North Stradbroke Island, but it turned out to be the most disappointing rental we've experienced on Straddie. We regret not digging deeper into the past reviews beforehand. The house was far from what we expected: There was visible mold on the ceilings int he bedrooms and in the downstairs shower. The garden was messy, cluttered with palm fronds. We found an old towel left hanging on the back of the bedroom door and rubbish on top of the fridge. The pans were so worn and scratched they seemed unsafe to use, and the stove emitted a strong smoke when turned on as it had tinfoil pushed into it. The downstairs fire alarm went off early one morning for no reason, waking everyone up. The lighting was dim throughout, and the bottom bathroom sink had a broken plug, which was stuck and couldn’t be used. For the price, we expected much better maintenance and cleanliness. We won’t be staying here again and advise others to look elsewhere on Straddie for a more enjoyable experience. I'm disappointed that Ray White appears to be the dominating agency here and arent taking the appropriate care or guidance of their properties.

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love Straddie and always look forward to our stay. The weather all bar a few days was great and we were able to swim most of the time. Unfortunately the house at 84 Mooloolaba red is in need of repair. The boards on the deck are rotten and many areas and we felt uncomfortable walking on them. The ceiling paint in the main bedroom is all flaking and falling onto the floor. The coffee table was broken and could not be used for fear it would break in half. The tiles down stairs underneath the deck are very slippery when wet. My grandson slipped and hit his head! We sauced mats from the other doors to try to eliminate the dangerous issue. On arrival the whole outdoor areas were covered in layers of tree and leaf litter and we spent the first hour blowing (we bought a blower with us) and wiping down the outdoor furniture. The recycle bin was full of rubbish and left in the yard. So we were very disappointed with our accommodation.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Whilst the house was in a great location, only parking for one car, upstairs bed 2 double bed (not queen). The lawn hadn't been mown in months, palm fronds & leaves everywhere - no outdoor maintenance done at all. Back deck was great. Downstairs was very dark and moist. They really need to give the gardens a massive cut back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: With 2 self contained areas it’s a good place for 2 families or group of friends, with the large deck being ideal for whole group socialising. Upstairs has greater ambience than downstairs.House is within easy walking distance to beaches and shops. No sea view but pleasant leafy outlook. There is some traffic noise from Mooloomba Road. The house is very well equipped, beds are comfortable. Great for us for extended family wuth grandchildren. Surprisingly, there is currently no wifi.
