Bella Haven ("beautiful refuge") is a favourite getaway for many Saturna visitors.
A bright and airy beach house set on a picturesque half-acre, adjacent to our home.
Overlooking Lyall Harbour, you will have front row seats to spectacular summer sunsets and the ever-changing vista year-round.

It's perfect for one or two people looking to experience the uniqueness of Saturna Island and the beauty of the seasons in the Southern Gulf Islands.

We have sought to equip Bella Haven to a high standard and to anticipate your needs for a memorable stay. The open-plan living space, and the many windows, provide a feeling of spaciousness and light.

* We must mention our big friendly pooches, Dudley and Angus!
They will greet you from the other side of the fence, but have no access to your patio or living space.

Our beautiful and peaceful setting lends itself to relaxation, but is also a perfect home-base for:

stunning location, roomy fully equipped cottage

First time to Saturna Island and it did not disappoint. This home was the ideal choice for us as a base to explore this unique gem of the Gulf Islands. The island is quiet and a bit isolated and that makes it pretty relaxing and special. Highly recommend this home to rent.

Quiet

So quiet that our ears were ringing. Walked all over the island without any stress knowing there are no cougars or bears. Highly recommend, would definitely go back. The views of the sunset going down over the harbour are insane.

Beautiful property and everything you may need was there. Luxurious towels and lots of them. Bathroom is amazing and love the heated stone floor! Even has books on the area’s history. Hosts were great and so were their two dogs.

Luxury getaway on Saturna Island

Bella Haven surpassed expectations (and we are picky). The owners thought of every detail - from gorgeous design, all new and stylish appliances, utensils, cookware and dishes, heated bathroom floor, full sized fidge, dishwasher and comfortable king sized bed...and everything is imaculately clean and well maintained. The unit comes with its own patio, full BBQ, quality Adirondack chairs and the best sunset views on the island. Hosts Rob and Sue are so helpful and friendly. A number of locals said this is the best place to stay on the island and we agree. We will be back!

Beautiful place with an amazing view!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Bella Haven and highly recommend it to others. The accommodations had everything we needed, was very comfortable and well-supplied. Beautiful outdoor areas with the patio and surrounding garden, and the seating area out by the water. The location is amazing being right on the water with great sunset views, it was a perfect place to launch our kayak from. Sue, Rob, Dudley and Angus were all super-friendly and a pleasure to meet. We hope to come back again in the future!

Fabulous Saturna waterfront

A Home Away From Home!

Staying at Bella Haven on Saturna was wonderful! Both the accommodation and attention to detail was excellent. Beyond amazing in all respects

This was, hands down, the best rental experience I have had. First, the apartment was absolutely perfect. Clean, beautiful construction, gorgeous douglas fir counters and white cabinetry, comfortable couch and chair, a fireplace, a large kitchen table and perfect bathroom with lots of towels. On top of having lots of space in the apartment, there is a good sized deck with a table and chairs and two comfortable Adirondack-style chairs. There were also 4 chairs in the yard close to the shore. Second, there are a lot of windows looking out over the ocean. You are RIGHT THERE, on the ocean and you see it from the bedroom and living room and deck! The days were long so we went to sleep with the red and orange of the setting sun over the mountains and ocean. Third, Sue and Rob were about the best hosts there ever could be. They were there when you needed something and totally careful of your space when you were busy. They are absolutely lovely people!!! Finally, Saturna Island is stunningly beautiful. It is smaller and quieter than some Gulf Islands which is its beauty. We were busy for 7 days taking every walk on the map, visiting all the sights and still we didn't get everything done (missed the Winery). It took two ferries to get there but it was a breeze since you just drive off one ferry directly onto the next--all coordinated, no wait, very easy. And...the ferry ride is part of the vacation with great views of all the islands and the snow-capped peaks.)

Zu Gast bei Sue and Rob Kendall

In the summer of 2007 we were sailing past Saturna and decided to go ashore to see what properties might be for sale. When we saw this view we were smitten. The rest is history, as they say. We are lucky and grateful to call Saturna home.

Major renovations were lovingly undertaken. The re-build took several years, as Rob did most of the work himself.
Fun Fact: Rob built the cabinets and countertops in the beach house out of old church pews!

We enjoy sailing, our dogs and our grandchildren. (not in that order!).
Rob has become an accomplished wood turner in his retirement and has produced many beautiful pieces. Sue enjoys music and photography.

Over the years we've had family and friends stay in the beach house. They always sleep past their regular wake-up time because it's so quiet and the bed is so comfy.

Passers-by on the street always comment on the property and the view.
People come to our beach specially to watch the breathtaking summer sunsets.

We look forward to welcoming you and will always be available for anything you may need.
