Great Location
We love the Ventana location because of its proximity to wonderful hikes and scenery. The walk up Ventana Canyon is spectacular. And Sabino Canyon and the Mount Lemmon road are nearby. We took in plays and symphony performances downtown and would have done the Mount Lemmon night watch program had the weather allowed. It's a great place to explore natural beauty and cultural experiences. Your first stop, if visiting Tucson for the first time, should be to stop in at the visitor centre downtown and pick up their discount book, which will more than pay for itself. And while you are there, be sure to visit the rock and gem collection right next door (half price with the discount book!)
The unit is very well laid out and abundantly supplied for home cooking, which we usually did. The grocery store is very convenient.
Disappointments were few and minor. It's too bad that Kolb Road runs so close. It's not busy but the occasional traffic noise is a little disturbing to the otherwise sounds of nature. Apart from the road there is an unfettered view of the mountain. The sun never really shines on the deck and in the cool month of March when we were visiting, some sun would have been nice. And a very minor point - a better non-stick frying pan would have been nice.
Would we visit again? Definitely!
