Our Experience at the Beautiful Cozy Second Floor Condo
The listing accurately reflects its details. The second-floor apartment is charming & cozy, with a nice kitchen, bathroom, & living area. However, the bedroom experience was a stark contrast to our expectations when we finally settled in for the night. This past weekend in OKC was quite windy. As I lay in bed, I noticed the French doors next to me rattling in the wind. Upon closer inspection, I discovered they were only secured with clear packing tape! The latches were non-functional, leaving the door unsecured except for the tape, and it had been installed backwards, allowing anyone-or even a strong gust of wind-to easily pull them open. To say we felt unsafe would be an understatement. This feeling was compounded by the fact that multiple phone calls & text messages to Randy, the property manager/owner, went unanswered. We spent the night awake and frightened, anticipating the arrival of anyone or anything in the dark, in an unfamiliar city. This situation was completely unacceptable. I contacted VRBO Corporate & managed to speak with someone. Sent them proof of the inadequate accommodations and lack of security; they also attempted to reach Randy without success. Once daybreak arrived and we felt safe enough to carry our bags down the stairs to our vehicle, we did so and left! Thankfully, we found a hotel willing to accommodate us early in the morning, where we could finally rest. No one should stay at this property or trust in its safety and security. ShameOnTheOwners!
