Unit #1 features a spacious, airy, open-design kitchen/living/dining space. Windows are plentiful; the space is filled with natural light. The freshly remodeled interior is inspired by the surrounding aquamarine lake waters, blue skies, clear northern sunlight, and deep forests. Shades of periwinkle blue, aqua, teal, sunshine yellow, and vibrant, sunset orange enliven the decor. Wooden furniture and hardwood floors in muted colors of oak and driftwood, help to make the colors really pop.
The cozy, stylish, full kitchen has crisp white cabinets, a glossy white tile backsplash, gray quartz countertops, and state-of-the-art stainless appliances including a full-size fridge/freezer combo, an electric range, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Industrial-style open shelving provides plenty of pantry space for all your groceries and supplies.
Gather your group for family-style meals at a farmhouse dining table with benches and chairs. Grill fresh-caught lake trout or whitefish! Sample wines and cheeses from local vineyards and farms. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom directly off the main living space. The sunshine-yellow bathroom has a single-sink vanity, a large, well-lit mirror, and a tub/shower combo. Plush towels, hairdryer, toiletries are all provided.
All three bedrooms have wall-to-wall carpeting, stylish new furnishings, luxurious mattresses, nightstands, closets, and calming coastal hues of blue; periwinkle, lavender, teal, and sky blue. Dreaming of Lake Life? Stroll down the boardwalk to Orchard Beach; a pristine public recreation area offering two-hundred beachfront acres, bluffs, scenic views, hiking trails, and camping. Gardens planted by the Civilian Conservation Corps and remnants of an apple orchard, for which the park was named, can still be seen. This majestic park is listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
This property is just five minutes from Bar Lake access, and five minutes from downtown Manistee, with its charming Victorian-era neighborhoods, Downtown Riverwalk, and historic Vogue Theater. This tranquil property is surrounded by miles of hiking, cycling, and cross-country skiing trails, adjacent to the Bird Sanctuary and Conservancy. Boating (kayaking, canoeing, SUP, sailing, etc) and fishing are popular local activities. Nearby, thousands of acres of Manistee National Forest offer year-round opportunities for outdoor adventure.
Sunsets over the lake are exquisite! Anticipate hues of gold, orange, pink, and violet. Springtime is fragrant with lilacs and cherry blossoms. Manistee summer nights are rich with fireflies, crickets, peepers, cicadas, and owls. Occasionally, at dawn or dusk, you’ll hear sandhill cranes migrating overhead. Late summer is filled with wildflowers, songbirds, milkweed, and monarch butterflies. Autumn foliage is spectacular! Apples are crisp, grapes are ripe, cider mills and vineyards are plentiful. Check in time is after 4:00PM and check out time is before 10:00AM. Please note that we are not able to accommodate early arrivals or late departures from May – September. Any request for additional time will depend on availability of the rental and an additional fee may be added to the stay.
ARRIVAL: There is no formal check-in procedure. Arrival details are sent prior to your check-in date and will include the exact location of the property, parking and entry information. Guests will have a private, secure entrance and the rental is not shared by owners or other guests.
DEPARTURE: We do have a very short checklist we ask renters follow upon departure. It includes making sure the property is left tidy, furniture is in the same place you found it, everything is closed, locked and turned off, and the thermostat is set properly. These items will only take a couple of minutes but help staff immensely.
Please know that all rental policies and house rules are strictly enforced. This includes occupancy limits, age requirements, the ‘no parties’ and ‘no smoking’ clauses or any other rule posted online or within the rental. These are often defined by local ordinances, Homeowner’s Associations or other legal requirements and can result in fines or eviction if violated. We do not provide additional refunds for cancellations, late arrivals or early departures except as required in the posted cancellation policy.
