Unplugged & Recharged

This rental proved to be a great backdrop for a low key, relaxing Father’s Day weekend with our infant and grandparents. While there were shared amenities like pools and playgrounds, we found no reason to leave the back deck & dock. The house is older, but authentically rustic - and the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen are very clean. The rest of the house is worn and the neighbors are close, but I viewed it upscale from camping; the lakeviews were certainly luxurious. We took out one of the kayaks, but if you want to use it heavily, i’d advise renting one nearby or using the canoe instead. The rental process & checkin was seamless. All said and done, we had the weekend we craved. You simply cannot beat a late afternoon drink on the deck.

Location, Location, Location

Did I mention the fabulous location of this property? Right on the lake with beautiful views from the entire back of the house and outside decks. Although we didn’t use the kayaks or pedal boat, anyone with a family would certainly enjoy going out on the lake in them. The house was quaint and although a little rough around the edges, it had all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. We loved seeing the deer walk down the road and into the yard. Sitting by the fire pit with the lake just feet away was great! Best part was meeting the hosts and seeing how much they care that their guests have the best time. We could not have asked for better hosts. Thank you Ron and Develba for a lovely long weekend! Jill loved it, too!

Great Location for a Reunion

Stayed in this particular property for a week in July for a family reunion. Myself family and my sister's family stayed in this house and my brother's family and parents stayed in the property next door. We moved freely between the two houses through the week. In this particular property were 10 of us (4 adults and 10 kids). The space was sufficient with enough sleeping space. We wished that there was a window AC unit in the bunk room as it was very hot for the kids even with a fan. By the second day we noticed more and more creepy crawlies around the kitchen in the evening and overnight and ended up spraying and cleaning to mitigate the issue. A few of the windows had problems and could not open and we ended up with a few scraped toes on the cinder blocks holding up the bed frame in the downstairs bedroom. The garage was unusable due to the musty smell and the chewed up bottom of the garage door. We also had to take care of the previous renter's trash on the street that had been left out and attracted the attention of insects and rodents. Aside from the above, we spent most of the time outdoors enjoying the multiple docks, kayaks, canoes, and swimming. The kids spent full days in the water. Would consider staying in the future.

Not relaxed afterward? That's all you.

Loved "waking at the lake", whether the weather was damp and chilly or more late spring-like. The kids' most enjoyable aspect of the trip was being able to spend quality time (post quarantine??) with us doing stuff we normally don't do. The fire pit was a perfect way to end our days, with just the right mix of off-site and on-site activities, including hikes (national park less than 4 miles away), motor boat rental and knee boarding (25 minutes away, suggest you book DURING the week like we did!), tour a live coal mine, paint ball targeting, and so on. Did I mention fishing on the dock is a wonderful way to re-center? Thank you so much, Ron, for sharing your lake and your home with us!

2021 Family Vacation

Our time spent in the home was amazing! The beds were comfy, but most of all the outdoor accommodations were the best! Our only dilemma was when the temperature hit 90 the 1 air conditioner even at night wasn't enough for all 3bedrooms. The check in was easy but we got our welcome letter late.(no code to get in) In the past we received the welcome letter the day before. But Ron was just a text or phone call away!!

The House was right on the lake it was beautiful. Small updates needed but overall good rental.

We enjoyed the house and views of the lake. House was clean but unfortunately we saw what looked like a roach in between the microwave glass so we couldn't kill it. Also the downstairs full bedroom, the bed frame was loose and uncomfortable. Thought the house was fully air conditioned but only one upstairs in bedroom. But overall had a good time and enjoyed the property greatly!

Wonderful place

Wonderful location. Great sunsets, and sunrises and peaceful lake. We enjoyed the property and walking the neighborhood to see all of the deer. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for cooking for the family. Close to Tobyhanna for fun family hikes.

Long Weekend

We stayed here Thurs-Sunday Nov 5-8. We had absolutely beautiful weather and enjoyed the multiple deck areas and docks. The house was very clean (which isn't always the case when renting a house that is pet friendly) and loved early morning walks around the neighborhood. It was very close to mt. Airy casino and a shop rite and Walmart near by. Ron was very responsive and answered quickly any time we needed. Would absolutely recommend this house for anyone looking for a great lakeside stay!

Beautiful location on the lake

This was in a nice area. Beautiful lakeside views even from our master bedroom of the lake. The house itself was pretty outdated and could use some updating. There was no toaster. We also found spiderwebs in the kitchen over the window. I had some issues with the dishwasher. Also there was no trash bags left.. So we had to purchase our own. The jacuzzi didn't work correctly and it made a loud noise in the kids room every time I tried to use it. So I guess there was some plumbing issues. On a positive note. The owners was very helpful whenever I called. We had a good time nevertheless. Outdoor by the lake was very entertaining and we caught a fish. So cool!! This was a nice area for us to be in for our Labor day holiday weekend which was enjoyable.

Great time on the lake

We had a great time staying at the lake house. Ron was very helpful in getting us all of the info we needed for arrival and our stay. The house was clean and functional. There were a few minor defects (top rack of dishwasher was glitchy but worked, back door wont lock, etc.). Nothing major but worth mentioning. Interestingly, the smoke/carbon monoxide detectors were removed. I addressed this directly with Ron and he was surprised and not aware they were removed. He was very responsive and stated he would address this immediately so I expect this not to be an issue in the future. I only mention it because it’s a safety issue at the moment. So, overall, the house was very good. The docks, yard, and lake access were phenomenal. The kayaks were readily available, with life vests, and the kids loved taking them out onto the lake. The kids fished right off the dock and at night we sat around the fire pit and made s’mores. TV, internet, and grill worked without issues and they had plenty of propane on hand just in case. We went hiking at the Tobyhanna State Park which was less than 10 min away and it was a great way to spend the morning. All in all, we had a really good time. Thank you to Ron for allowing us the use of your home.

Great Weekend Getaway

Really enjoyed the property. The owners were very communicative and the house was clean and comfortable. I was disappointed on the last day when the cleaning service showed up 45 minutes early and were trying to get us to leave before our allotted check out time. She sat outside in her car and made us feel very uncomfortable. She also called the property manager to complain even through we were attempting to pack the car. Her rudeness was disappointing after such a lovely 3 days.

Relaxing Lakefront View

My husband and I had a very relaxing vacation at this waterfront property in Tobyhanna. Although it was just the two of us and our dog, the two outdoor decks, the dock and the firepit would be wonderful for entertaining family and friends. The community was quiet and the people were friendly. It was a nice getaway for all three of us.

Quick Getaway Trip

We spent a few days at the house with a small group (4 adults, 3 young children), just as summer weather was turning to cooler weather. Pros - Clean interior - Nice dock area and good deck space with plenty of room - Great fire pit area and cozy hammock - Spacious indoor area with plenty of room for sleeping - Wonderful views of the lake - Seemingly quiet part of the neighborhood - Location is close to many area attractions for mid-day trips - Linens and towels provided - Baseboard heat worked well (used for 1 day/1 night of stay) Cons - Unused Pet Fee charge not refunded by owner (notified weeks prior to arrival that dog was not coming to the house) - Garbage scattered across back yard, which didn’t seem to be maintained/landscaped - Firewood for fire pit was scarce in lot across the street; had to buy wood - Many things broken or things that didn’t work properly (back door does not lock, pedal boat didn’t work well, rowboat oars don’t fasten to boat, broken solar lights scattered across property, broken deck swing) - Some supplies missing or limited (hand soap had water mixed in, no dishwasher soap, 1 roll of paper towels)

Covid escape

stayed for a few days with husband, 2 children, their spouses and baby. the view of lake and close accessibility to lake was perfect! the decks were perfect for dining outside, BBQ's, relaxing with a drink and reading. we enjoyed swimming and using the kayaks. Fire pit was enjoyed each night. The rooms inside were as pictured. it was the perfect get away. managers are nearby and came over quickly when we had a small problem. would highly recommend.

Relaxing Stay on the lake

We had a wonderful time at the lake house. The kids enjoyed fishing, swimming, riding the the kayaks and paddle boat, and roasting marshmallows at the fire pit at night.

Lovely lakefront getaway

Clean, comfortable, getaway during COVID- firepit was fun- got to watch a full orange moon rise over the lake and then some fireworks...great place to have coffee in the morning and read all day. Only gave 4 for cleanliness as i would say a hose outside to wash away goose poop would be a good idea - a lot of geese walking around - and with dog trapsing in and out...
