From the moment you enter The Cable House, you will fall in love with the high ceilings, light-filled spaces, and original details mixed with contemporary design, producing a family home that is so welcoming you’ll feel immediately at ease.
Designed by Tom Robertson Architects, the south-facing worker’s cottage has been reimagined to celebrate its urban location within a heritage context, resulting in a home that is so unique yet reflects its quintessential Melbourne setting.
An open plan dining, kitchen and living space is bright, airy and drenched in natural sunlight. Exuding subtle sophistication, the well thought out kitchen is pivotal to the large entertaining space ensuring your stay is centred around gathering and creating memories at mealtimes.
Clever design elements, including generous skylights and large picture windows, invite the outside in with glimpses of lush greenery and the Melbourne sky throughout the home. Step outside to your own personal oasis with the terrace garden the perfect place to relish your morning coffee or to sit back and sip an afternoon drink.
At the top of the sculptural stairwell is a relaxing master retreat, complete with a luxurious king bed and light-filled ensuite. Waking up each morning will be a delight with the cathedral ceilings and the large wall of windows letting in dappled sunlight to create the perfect place to refresh and rejuvenate.
Two additional bedrooms feature a queen bed and set of single bunk beds, making The Cable House the ideal home for families or groups looking for space to suit all ages. Additional features of the home include on street parking with no permits required, a study and a second bathroom in a family friendly neighbourhood that is close to parks, shops and public transport.
