The Space:
This 611 sq ft | 57 sqm 2nd-floor apartment is ideal for a couple or solo traveler to enjoy a tropical escape to the beach in Barbados. The apartment has all the comforts of home to ensure a pleasant stay and it’s in a great location to access public transportation to go exploring the island.

- A luminous LIVING ROOM with a sofa, armchair, coffee table, and a Smart TV with cable for enjoying relaxing downtime at home. There are double doors that open up to the balcony.
- A PRIVATE OCEAN VIEW TERRACE may offer the best seat in the house! There are two chairs & a little table that’s just perfect for sipping your morning coffee or enjoying a colorful sunset.
- A DINING TABLE that seats 4 for sit-down meals at home, nestled in a sun-drenched space in front of windows that face the ocean.
- A fully-equipped KITCHEN with all the appliances you’d need to prepare meals at home.
- The BEDROOM features a queen bed, a nice-sized closet and mirrored vanity area with high-vaulted ceilings, AC unit & ceiling fan.
- 1 full BATHROOM with a spacious stand-in shower and a rainfall shower head.
- There’s WiFi and you can use the dining table to work if remote work is needed on your trip.
- There’s a shared LAUNDRY area in the garage with a WASHING MACHINE (no dryer) ,that's free to use, and there’s a place to hang your clothes to dry. (The laundry and the backyard are shared with the other guests of the property when rented.)

The property is on the north part of the island where you'll find lots of naturalistic sights. Checker Hall is peaceful and you’ll enjoy the proximity to the beach. The apartment’s within walking distance from Fryer's Well Point Bay & minutes away from Almond Beach Resort, Port St. Charles, and Nikki/Port Ferdinand beaches. You’ll also be close to a local bar/restaurant called Jac’s Pizza Bar, nearby seaside seafood restaurants like Fish Pot and Lobster Pot, and 8 km | 5 mi to the famous Animal Flower Cave & Restaurant, North Point.

Getting Around:
The apartment is about 38 km | 24 miles from the Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) -- approximately a 50-min drive. Getting to and from the airport, you can rent a car, hire private transportation, take a taxi or take public transportation which is the cheapest. We can also help you prearrange transportation, just send us a message.
Though we recommend renting a car to easily get around the island, the property is conveniently located where you can easily access public transportation that can take you to any part of the island that you want to explore. If you get the chance to go south to Oistins, you’ll want to check out St. Lawrence Gap, famous for its fine restaurants, lively nightlife, and good shopping and you won't want to miss the Oistins Friday Night Fish Fry & Street Market!
Once on the island, there’s easy access via public transportation in all 11 parishes. Public transport (blue bus) and private transport (vans) are both $3.50 bds per ride (as of Sept 2022).
Other Things to Note:
Please note, the property is on Sutherland Hill which is quite steep, walking up the hill requires some physical stamina. Also, guests need to climb stairs to the 2nd-floor apartment.
We'd also like to point out that you may hear the occasional barking from the neighbor's dogs, which is unfortunately out of our control.
We ask that you please do not hang clothing or towels on the front balcony railing. Use the drying lines in the back.
Wi-Fi, Smart TV, bed linens, bath towels, and washing machine, are free during your stay.
We provide a few basic essentials to make you feel more at home when you arrive like some soap, shampoo, conditioner, and toilet paper. But please note that these are not replenished during your stay. If you need more, you’ll need to purchase more.
Guests will be requested to sign a Rental Agreement upon booking confirmation.
A security deposit may be required prior to arrival or at check-in subject to the booking platform used to make the reservation. This fee is charged as a credit card transaction and refunded after check-out, provided all terms are met.
Lastly, long-term stays are available.
HOUSE RULES
- Travelers must be at least 21 years of age or older to book.
- No smoking of any kind (tobacco or cannabis) is allowed in the home, and the use of any recreational drugs on the premises is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply will incur a $300 penalty.
- No parties or events are permitted, illegal activity is prohibited and excessive noise will not be tolerated. No loud music is allowed after 10 pm. Please be respectful of the neighbors.
- No more guests than those listed in your reservation are allowed.
- No tent or other structures may be set up on the ground of the property.
- Renters agree to cover any charge related to damages that occurred during their stay or necessary extra-cleaning expenses if needed after their stay.
- Renters will be required to provide a government ID on the day of checking in or during their stay.
- Please avoid moving furniture.
- Pets are not allowed.
- We ask that you please use the safe box for all your valuables. We will not be held responsible for any loss or theft.
- Please help us conserve energy by turning off the AC when you step out of the apartment.
Interaction with Guests:
You’ll have complete privacy and exclusive access to your apartment during your stay. The laundry area in the garage and the backyard are shared with the other guests of the property.
