Ringing in 2025!

We gathered with close friends and their families for new years at this beautiful house! It was perfect. We had so much space, all the kids loved the room with multiple bunks. The closet in the great room had a lot of toys for the kids to enjoy too! Each family had plenty of space, pantries had everything we needed to hist large meals. We also loved the two sinks in the kitchen. Kristen and John were great hosts. Highly recommend this rental even in the off season!

Poor Maintenance

NOT RECOMENDED - The property had several issues with the kitchen not being clean, the oven was in pathetic condition. The TVs were not working and remotes for fireplace were out of batteries. We had to work with the host to do basic troubleshooting to reset the water heater and TVs to make it working. We wasted one complete day of our stay working with the host to have things fixed which should have been taken care of before our check-in. The host did refund the cleaning fee however with several other issues he was unwilling to compensate. There are several better properties at better price/value.

Nice place. Really enjoyed our stay. It takes a little bit of figuring out to get through the web site and get to the owners to ask questions through the chat box. Maybe it was my own ignorance on how to navigate those types of things. Could not find the "welcome book" right away. It was in the office up on a shelf. There was some information in there that would have been a little helpful if we knew earlier. Really no trouble at all in the big picture. Really enjoyed the stay and the property. A+ Experience and accommodations!

Beautiful home the photos do not do it justice. Everything was clean and ample space for a large group. Outdoor entertainment space was very nice. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions throughout the process and made everything very easy. 10/10 would recommend and stay again!

Family LakeHouse Vacation

By far one of our best family gatherings! 20 people, representing 4 generations! Everyone had a phenomenal time. Ample space with 2 primary gathering areas in the house, and extremely spacious and comfortable outdoor spaces. Never felt crowded. Spent time at the vineyards and apple/grape orchards which were close by, and even drove to Watkins Glen Park (45 min.) for a great hiking outing. House is absolutely gorgeous. Fully stocked kitchen allowed for big family meals. Great media setup made our karaoke night a blast. Kristin and John were amazing hosts. The most responsive hosts I’ve ever dealt with. Will definitely plan a return trip

Multigenerational Family Gathering

This property is fantastic! Our multigenerational family gathering here has become an annual tradition that is looked forward to by all. This property provides plenty of locations for folks to gather. We love hanging out on the dock, spending evenings by the fireplace and enjoying meals on the deck. The kitchen is well equipped to handle a large group - lots of large pots/pans, serving bowls, and plenty of dishes. There is plenty of room on the beach for our two sailboats. We rent a motorboat and keep it on the side with the whips. This property is less than 15 mins from a large Wegmans grocery store and 5 mins from a small quick market that also offers pizza and ice cream. Hosts very responsive to any questions. Awesome location and hosts.

A very nice long weekend at the lake with friends!

Overall, we had an amazing time while staying at this property! The location, the views, and the house itself, were all just as explained on the posting! We were able to enjoy morning coffee on the dock and the house was large enough for our group of 18 of us to enjoy meals outside together. The water was very cold but we did go in a few times as the weather was very nice! We were informed of some parking updates that were recently made in the city of Canandaigua that were not reflected in the posting, however that was a minor hiccup in the entire trip. Would highly recommend for anyone with a large group looking to be able to spend time together in a beautiful lake location!

Wonderful home on the lake

I don't know where to begin. The on-line description does not do service to this large, gorgeous home. The property is exceptionally well maintained, the rooms were huge, and there was more than enough room to accomodate a group twice our size. The lake is just beautiful, and the dock was a great place to sit and relax. We went in April, but I imagine the lake to be even better in the warmer months. The firepit was an added bonus that my family really enjoyed. There were so many unexpected "extras" throughout the house. For example, there was a huge pair of binoculars with it's own tripod. There were board games and puzzles for any age group, and a great selection of books for a vacation read. The kitchen came supplied with every cooking gadget you could think of, multiple coffee makers, and enough dishes and silverware for a small army. We would definitely come again!

Every year we rent a spot in Canandaigua Lake. The group is 3 families, kids age range from 6 to18. This year we had our best trip. The house had everything we needed This is a must if you are visiting Canandaigua Lake. 6 bedrooms one bedroom has 5 bunk beds. Wide open first level floor and a hangout basement with a bar.

Exceeded Expectations!

Four couples headed off on an adventure to the Finger Lakes region -- wondering what we would discover. After a long day hiking, wine tasting, etc. -- we returned to our luxurious rental located on the bucolic shores of Canandaigua Lake. Everything was perfect - location, views, condition-of-property, etc. I would highly recommend this house for family/friend vacations.

Amazing location with plenty of space

Beautiful house right on the lake! We choose the east side if the lake so we could watch the sunsets and the view did not disappoint! House had plenty of room and included basically everything you would need. Kitchen was well stocked, towels were thick/heavy, water pressure was great in showers, good amount of parking, and host was easy to get ahold of. If you plan to bring a boat recommend you coordinate that with the owner ahead of time as some of the items listed were for owner use only. We had a great stay and would definitely come back!!

The Chosen Place

We had a wonderful time on Canandaigua Lake with 3 generations of family. The name Canandaigua in the Seneca language means "the chosen place" and that is how this worked for us. The water trampoline was fun for all 3 generations.

Family Vacation 2023

This property is beautiful with a fully supplied kitchen, and plenty of towels for showering and swimming. We are a large group of 21 who enjoy our annual vacation week together. Sharing meals is important to us, this property permitted us to prepare, cook and eat our dinners together. The home is well appointed and well cared for. When we encountered a glitch, the owner made sure that it was fixed asap. The trampoline was a major hit with both adults and kids. Having morning coffee on the deck was a bonus along with the great sunsets. We look forward to returning to this property.

All three generations of our clan enjoyed the stay immensely. We are looking forward to going back next year. Incidentally, both washers and dryers were full of towels and clothes when we arrived. We cleaned and used the towels and left the clothes to whomever they belong.

Do not stay here

Beautiful house right on the lake. However, the owner had listed the property as a 5 bathroom, when it only has 3 bathrooms in the house. The outdoor shower has no walls, so it is not useable as a real shower. One of the window screens came out while we were there, probably because of previous damage we were not aware of, and the owner charged us an additional $600 damage fee. The unique television set up were difficult to operate without instructions on what to do. The town is very quaint, and we will definitely return to this area, but will not be renting from John again.

Overall we had a wonderful time. The home was everything that was advertised. We have a maturing family (Andrew 17, Cooper 16 and Paige 13) that absolutely loves the water! 'Camp' is a place we can't use all the time due to our hectic schedules but a place that has and will continue to create memories for our children, our parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, etc. that we hope last a lifetime, just like those we have from our childhood! We hope your visit gives you the same opportunity and we will do all we can to ensure that happens! Since we can't use the property all the time, we can't think of a better way to help offset the costs and give others the opportunity for such memories!

Simply said...the LOT! One of the best lots we could find, with great green space, beautiful mature trees, a fantastic location for wide water views and an unbeatable beach front (138 feet) with gradual entry to water (zero entry) that allows swimmers to wade or swim vs. being in over their head from the start!

The beach is unique as very few properties have such a great water line. The useable yard space is another great feature since kids can run around and play in the yard...or on the beach. Volleyball, bocce, badminton, darts, cornhole are all common events on the property. The area under the deck stays dry thanks to our deck design, allowing enjoyment even when the rest of the outdoors is getting wet from the rain! Recent construction, brand new furnishings and mattresses in the last year, additional full bathroom just completed, etc..
