Huge Home Near Tunnel Park, Lake Michigan and Holland State Park

If you are looking for plenty of room for everyone you have found the perfect spot at the Eagles Nest!

Main floor features dual farmhouse tables with enough seating for 16, open kitchen with stainless appliances, an extra refrigerator and large counter top with bar stool seating. Living room has double sectionals and TV for movie nights after a day at the beach. Sun room provides additional space for lounging on the main floor. Master bedroom has king bed, daybed with trundle, private bath with walk in shower and access to private patio. Additional guest bedroom has king bed and patio access as well.

Kids and adults will all love the lower level with additional family room, bunk room and fully equipped game area with air hockey, foosball, ping pong and pool table! Upper floor offers additional sleeping and adorable kids playroom. One bedroom has a queen bed and trundle. Across the hall, there are two rooms - one has queen bed and the next has three sets of twin bunks. The room with twin beds is accessible via the queen bedroom, and there are doors between the queen bedroom and the room with bunk beds. (Please see the video walk through for a visual tour!)

The outdoor space is truly picturesque with a large flagstone patio putting green and fire pit. Pergola offers a shady place to retreat and large smoker grill is perfect for family barbecues. Plenty of green space as well with a play castle for the little ones.

THE LOCATION

This home is just 2/10ths of a mile from Tunnel Park and just over 2 miles to Holland State Park and Lake Macatawa. Rent bikes for the week and enjoy the bike paths that run all along the lakeshore and access to beaches. Paddle-boards and kayaks are available as well. Award winning downtown Holland is just a 20 minute drive and features a great variety of restaurants, shopping, breweries, ice cream and entertainment.

This gorgeous home is perfectly situated to take advantage of all vacationing along the Michigan Lakeshore has to offer.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Our cancellation policy is as follows:
-100% refund (minus a VRBO service fee) if you cancel at least 30 days before check-in.
-50% refund (minus a VRBO service fee) if you cancel at least 14 days before check-in.
-No refund if you cancel less than 14 days before the reservation date.

There are no refunds for early departures, reduction of nights rented, or delayed arrivals due to inclement weather or any other factor. Please consider trip insurance to protect your investment.

Overall okay!

Good Points: Good for large groups to hang out. Check in was pretty convenient and we were able to get into the property easily. Management was easily reachable and responsive! Firewoord and charcoal for our use. Spacious first floor/double refrigerators. Lots of bathrooms. Kids playroom/game closet awesome for kids. Downside: - I wish check in was sooner than 4pm so we could enjoy that day too. - lots of spider webs all over the house/furniture/patio furniture/doorways/upstairs balcony - we had to clean the outside furniture ourselves so we could enjoy a BBQ without worrying about spiders/bugs. There wasn’t a thorough cleaning of these items which we did not like. - 2-3 lounge chairs were partially broken and we couldn’t sit on them. - the fire pit is near big tree/bushes and the bush wasn’t trimmed back so it was hovering over the fire pit which is not ideal over an open fire. - upstairs is three rooms/small bathroom crammed into a second floor and very dated. - upstairs bathroom as soon as we got in had a solid 10-15 big stink bugs all over the bathroom! - there were more of these bugs in the red bedroom including the actual bed so I didn’t feel comfortable putting my toddlers in the beds and essentially left that room not usable which sucked. Found more bugs in the beds/bedroom the next day as well - management was very responsive but basically couldn’t do anything during our stay. This was my biggest issue with the house unfortunately.

Great space and entertainment

This was a really nice place for a large group to stay, with separate spaces and a central dining area. There are also lots of entertainment (ping pong, pool table, putting green, etc.) that helped keep kids of all ages entertained. I would highly recommend this place.

We felt like the landscaping has been neglected for far too long. We're outdoors people with a lot of flower gardens. The property at Eagles Nest had trees growing in the flower beds with shrubs and trees very overgrown. There was a birdfeeder that had fallen and broken in pieces and it was first thing we saw at check-in. We did enjoy all the wood carvings we found in the trees. The house itself is a bit ran down but offered soooo many things for the littles to do and it was quite nice being so close to Tunnel Park.

A Gem

This home has everything! We were with our children and grandchildren ages 2-19. The garage was stocked with so many outdoor activities for all ages including 2 wagons, sand toys and many chairs for the beach which was about a 15 minute walk away! The finished basement game tables were constantly in use! The kitchen also had cookware, dinnerware and silverware to spare. We brought a lot of things that we never even unpacked. The neighborhood was quiet on a cul-de-sac. Also, very informative smart board for info about everything from recommendations to instructions! One of the most delightful places we’ve ever stayed!

Overall it’s a big house but few things were not up to the mark. Internet is terrible. It drops from one room to other room. One of the toilet was clogged but it was repaired on same day. Property is good but definitely little old. Loved Christmas decoration. Some of the beds are not comfortable especially the bunk beds. Kids liked the place as there are lot of toys, games and things to do in basement. For the price we paid for 4 days; definitely expected lot more. Expecting VRBO to do something and at least try us to get some refund back because property clearly lacked basic things like internet continuity.

Stayed over thanksgiving 2021. Wonderful time with our family BUT because the beds (bunks)r so so uncomfortable when the overflow adults had to use….or may be the dealbreaker in us booking here again. Otherwise great stay. ( if adults can’t sleep well it changes the weekend) bunks r good for kids only. I wanted to give more stars…..loved the property…. Master beds are fine….

Our overall experience of the rental was very good. It was clean and had lots of room for many people. We had a great time. The young ones loved the game room! I might suggest giving the property another name because the massive tree with the eagles nests (featured in the picture) is no longer there. The kids were wondering where the eagles nests were. The only negative about our experience was that it was difficult getting in contact with the company, required multiple messages and phone calls. We had some covid issues and the outcome was all or nothing, we couldn't even reschedule (and pay the difference if needed).

Great for families or large groups.

We had a great time staying here. Previous reviewers complained about bedding but this must have been addressed. Beds were comfortable. Great space. We enjoyed the bonfire, screened in porch, great kitchen, tons of space. They had a few beach chairs and beach toys we took to the beach. Our granddaughter enjoyed the playroom. We rode bikes and played pool and air hockey. It is very close to Holland’s best beach (Ottawa Beach - 5 minutes by car). Tunnel Park playground and beach are a one minute walk. We’ll maintained property. We had a terrific stay.

Girls Weekend

Really enjoyed our stay! House was large enough so that our entire group of 14 could spread out. Backyard is beautiful with mature landscape, picnic tables, and firepit. The house had everything we could possibly need for the weekend from fire wood to olive oil to beach towels. Easy drive to both downtown Holland or Saugatuck for activities. Only two complaints would be the mattresses and ants. The beds (all of them) were so uncomfortable that some decided to sleep on the couches over the beds. Additionally, the last day we noticed a major ant problem in the kitchen - they were everywhere (counters, ceilings, floors). Lastly, this property is managed by a company rather directly by the owners so communication seemed delayed when I emailed about early check-in and how to use the cable/TVs. However, the house was so well appointed there was nothing we had needed.

Great property for families

Room for everyone and privacy if needed. Lots of seating and get away areas to choose from. The yard is great as well. The kids road bikes and adults made a fire and cooked out. We loved that you could walk to Tunnel Park. I would recommend this property.

Wonderful House, Questionable Cleanliness

House was great and we really enjoyed our stay. However at the price for this house I was very upset with the cleanliness upon arrival. The towels were all thrown in a pile (clearly used) and we’re not cleaned in EVERY bathroom. There were also a majority of the beds that were not made, and I believe them to have not even been cleaned prior to our arrival/stay. So I had to spend the entire first day/night of our vacation doing laundry so that our guests had clean towels to use and clean sheets to sleep on. With how much the cleaning fee is for this house, I find that the status of our house upon arrival UNACCEPTABLE!

Awesome for our family group

Great spaces for a large group, including 2 fridges in kitchen, 2 large dining tables, multiple sitting areas, beautiful outdoor gathering spaces (loved the fire pit and lawn for yard games), and basement pool table, etc.! Loved the location-- walked or rode our bikes to Tunnel Park beach, took a group bike ride on Lakeshore Trail (bikes can be rented locally), golfed, played disc golf, and visited Tanglewood Winery (highly recommended!). The home and the location facilitated some great family times and we are so grateful for the opportunity to stay here!

This was a great place to stay with a large family group. It was well set up and equipped. To get to the main floor requires going up at least 3 steps, whether to the porch or from the driveway door. It was a challenge for my elderly father. But I realize that it was not listed as a handicap accessible property.

Wonderful Stay!

We stayed here with 12 women for a weekend away and were really impressed with how nicely appointed the house was. All of the details--like towels and washcloths on every bed, toiletries in the bathrooms, and a very well stocked kitchen (a rarity in a rental house!). Loved the large variety of glassware and cookware in the kitchen, in addition to lots of serving dishes. Two fridges in the kitchen (plus a wine fridge) was a plus too! The home has so many comfortable rooms to hang out it--the large sunroom was our favorite! The living room was also super comfortable with two sectional couches with plenty of room for everyone. The dining areas have 2 big dining tables (we pushed them together so we could all be together) and includes a wine fridge/bar, which was really handy. The location can't be beat--just a short walk to Tunnel Park and the beach, and the bike trail that goes on forever. Tons of bedroom space, including a bunk room upstairs and in the basement, gave us plenty of room to spread out. The house has 5 bathrooms--but would be nice if there was one in the basement for people sleeping down there.

Amazing home in a prime location

The Eagle's Nest was the perfect place for my wife and I to bring our families together to celebrate our wedding. The house had everything you could need and has clearly been maintained well. The property manager was easy to communicate with ahead of check in and during our stay which made the entire weekend stress-free. You can't ask for a better location to host a large group and still be close enough to town that people can come and go as they please. I would absolutely recommend staying at the Eagle's Nest to anyone looking for a place to host a large family gathering.

Holland Trip

Property was great for our large family. Enough rooms for everyone, even the families with toddlers. The outdoor space was wonderful as we played a lot of yard games. We especially loved the screened porch at night to sit out in as the young ones slept. It was a short walk to Tunnel Park, however the high water this year really limited the amount of beach at the park, making it too crowded and less enjoyable. The property is right across the street from the Holland to Grand Haven trail which we utilized every day, either biking or walking. Overall, we loved the home and location and plan to stay there again.

Excellent place

Great location, lots of games in the game closet and for outdoor activities. Worked well for our family reunion. We could walk across Lakeshore to Tunnel Park or drive to the State Park Beach. The only confusion was over when and whether to put the garbage cans out to the street, but the manager answered my phone call immediately and told me to just leave the large trash cans next to the house. This was not what the house instruction said, but the manager was pleasant and helpful.

With paying a premium rental rate for a large house, I would have thought the owner wouldn't skimp on toilet paper and hand soap. We ran out of both before the week was up, and there were no extras in the supply closet. There are mice scampering around in the ceiling of the bedroom located in the basement. You can hear them at night, when you are trying to sleep. The owner had the lawn treated with fertilizer and weed killer the week we were there. Not very safe or considerate with 11 small grandchildren wanting to play on the property. I sent 2 emails the week before our rental period, asking the owner for clarification on what was supplied in the rental. No answer. Not every bedroom had an attached bath room.
