Relax on the deck overlooking the dock with your favorite beverage. Enjoy the ambience and the eclectic atmosphere of this laid back island getaway. You would never know that you are in the heart of the village. Across the street is the culinary delight, The Blacktail Restaurant and 200 metres from there and above Howler's Liquor store is The Village Hearth, a fabulous gathering spot for breakfast, lunch and happy hour. Included in the same building is the Ocean View Pub and Grill. The best and only pub in town! It doesn't get better than this!! All amenities with-in walking distance!

This was a great place, in a great location. There aren’t too many options in Haida Gwaii and especially not many are pet friendly. This property gave us everything we were looking for on such a remote island. Comfortable, peaceful and quiet, across the street from one of the few and best restaurants on the island. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Marina view retreat!

We had everything we could have asked for and more at this spacious and artistically appointed studio. Cindy was a great communicator and had food items to get us started on our wonderful visit to Haida Gwaii. The deck was a feature and we were pleasantly surprised with how walkable Daajing Giids is.

Fantastic find in Daajing Giids

We *loved* our stay here and the host was a wonder. Two small notes about the property before covering it's many positives: The shower is quite small; if you are a larger person you may find it challenging. It worked fine for us, but I can imagine it being a squeeze for very tall or larger folks. It is also mostly one very large room, so while there are two large beds they are both in the same space with a half-height wall surrounding it. Both of these things are visible in the pictures, but could be overlooked. They are minor things in the bigger picture, however: We arrived to a bowl of freshly picked strawberries in the fridge, along with some grapes and cheeses, and freezies for the kids in the freezer. The kitchen was very well stocked, to say the least, and there was even pasta and sauce in the cupboard in case we arrived and needed a quick meal. The view is gorgeous, looking out over the wharf and boats out into the Skidegate inlet and it's many islands. The best restaurant in town, Blacktail, is literally across the street, and an ATM and a convenience store is just around the corner. It's a short walk (or an even shorter drive) to the main grocery in town, and 10 minutes by car from the large Coop in Skidegate. Hiking, kayak rentals, and cultural adventures are steps away from the house. Our host was communicative and helpful, not to mention a local. Overall, a wonderful place that we would happily return to next time we visit!

Haida Gwaii Visit

Every little detail of the property was great. From the artistic decor, great outdoor patio, very spacious, great location, and the few additions of groceries was a very nice touch. The only minor issue was a small shower. We absolutely loved our visit to Haida Gwaii.

Better than advertised!

Amazing stay. Walking distance to everything. The best restaurants, marina and more. The place was superb. Very large and well maintained and decorated. They thought of everything. They even had wine, cheese, grapes and some food to make a spaghetti dinner. Laundry, cat food for Stella (neighbourhood cat), binoculars. The place is much larger than the pictures online. You will not be disappointed. Improvements? It had everything but a larger shower and bed would only take this from great to heaven. A wood stove. We came in May so it was not peek season. Make sure you know when restaurants are open and closed as the community has an irregular work schedule that could have you miss one of the great dinners. Do your homework on restaurants on Haida Gwaii. No homework need for this VRBO. It was amazing.

Well-Equipped, Clean, Beautiful!

My parents came to visit me in Daajing Giids and we rented this apartment. Beautiful! Space is even more spacious and chic than in the photos. Ideal location right in the centre of the village. Host even left food for us (oils, spices, onions, chocolates, wine, condiments, grapes, cheese, etc.). Communication was quick, kind and enthusiastic. We would definitely stay again!

Delighted!!

Everything was so thoughtfully arranged and provided. Cindy left us a welcome note of how to get ahold of her if needed which we didn't have to use since everything was there. Lots of information from restaurants to things to do. A great restaurant right across the street!! After 9 days on a sailboat in cramped quarters, this place was heaven. Great to have a washer and dryer too!! We give it a 5/5 and highly recommend a stay here!!

Rest and exploration

This rental property is all that it claims to be and more. Spacious, beautifully decorated and with great attention to detail. The porch boasts incredible views of the marina and ocean and is the perfect spot to read a book or sip a cup of coffee while watching eagles. Location is perfect for exploring further afield on day trips and there are restaurants and groceries within easy walking distance. If you are contemplating exploring Haida Gwaii while enjoying all the comforts of a well-appointed and welcoming accommodation, this is the perfect home base.

A little gem in Daajing Giids

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The location is great - close to everything especially Blacktail Restaurant - a must for anyone visiting Daajing Giids. Apartment is spacious, very clean and perfectly decorated. All the amenities made it feel like you were right at home. Communication with Cindy was excellent and the added little extras made us all feel so welcomed (eggs, grapes, wine, fresh picked strawberries, and dog treats). If you are looking for a place to relax and take in the beauty of Haida Gwaii, this is it! Would definitely stay here again!

Above and beyond

The communication right from booking to through out the stay was amazing. I booked the stay to celebrate Dad's 90 the birthday with one last fishing trip. The location was super close to the dock making getting there with a walker incredibly easy, super close to restaurants and grocery stores. Knowing it was a special trip the owners surprised us with a birthday cake, fresh fruit, wine and so many provisions we felt so cared for. The views from the deck were incredible, eagles every night perched on the masts of sailboats you will never tire of the view. The beds were very comfortable and apartment is lovely and has everything you could possibly need. The guys did not want to leave and we definitely will book again.

Great apartment perfectly located two minutes from wharf, restaurants, grocery store and pub/off sales. Lovely redesign of classic old restaurant. Great deck to enjoy harbour action.
