Summary:
Easygoing, comfy, and just what you need for a low-key beach escape. This relaxed carriage house is tucked away in a quiet spot near the Seawall, with the Strand and all the island fun just minutes away. It’s not fancy, but it’s got everything you need to kick back after a day in the sun—cool breezes, good vibes, and that salty air. Perfect for anyone looking to slow down, soak up the coast, and keep things simple.

The Space:
Pack up your beach towels, sunscreen and cooler and head just a couple (1 1/2) blocks to the Seawall for your beach day! Finish up the sandy paws day at the Salty Dog Wash just a few blocks the opposite direction for a quick self-serve pup rinse off or schedule a spa day! Otherwise, head to Galveston's historic Pleasure Pier only half a mile down the road or the Strand Historic District just a little over a mile northwest. Longer walk or easy peasy Uber ride! Casita Azul is in an excellent location!

The Neighborhood:
The scenic Seawall is just 2 blocks from this home. Guests can enjoy the many restaurants from seafood to pizza or head to the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier. Still not enough, check out Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, or the fabulous and historic Strand. There's plenty of activities to do, and of course, there is nothing better than a day at the beach!

When you rent a 979 home, you'll also receive the 'comforts of home' guest welcome starter supply of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, tp and paper towels, dishwasher and clothes washer pods. We want your stay to be as easy as you do, and the 979 Crew aims to deliver on that commitment. We love our island guests!

🐾 PUP-FRIENDLY:
Bring Fido(s)! We welcome your furry friends (aka family members). Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at this home, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee ($125 for 1 dog, extra $75 for 2) per stay.

WIFI/TV SERVICE:
Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!

979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:
All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!

CANCELLATION POLICY:
For any new reservation, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations.

After that, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less the booking fee.

Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to their terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. Please reference the site where you originally reserved your stay.

Enjoyable family stay at great location

The property was clean and close to all attractions. We had everything we need, and the owner even changed out the a/c unit while we were there because I said it was noisy! It was working just noisy! Great customer service! Super easy communication

Great little place and location

The place was exactly as described. Cute and clean. Just want to let other renters know some very MINOR things - one bedroom has no closet or mirrors (which is hard with sharing only one bathroom). Another thing I want to note is there are no wastepaper baskets in the bedrooms. Like I said all very minor. Otherwise had a great time getting around in a golf cart and had a parking space to put it.

My error I should have read listing throughly

First I want to start by admitting that I did not read the listing thoroughly and should have read other reviews. I’m not bougie or picky, I’ve lived through hard times and good times so based on my experience is why I’m sharing this post. Pros: 2 short blocks close to the beach, outdoor shower to rinse off seawater and sand, beautiful well kept outdoor area, kitchen is well maintained and has basic needs and appliances worked properly. Cons: upstairs unit only, couch needs replacing the stitches are undone, and sinks when sitting in front of the tv, sectional is not secured and comes apart, the floors are uneven, the bedroom door nearest to the restroom doesn’t stay open and sticks when the door is closed, the sink in the bathroom is super small and when washing up the the morning water is spilled all over the floor, the shower floor has black spots around and needs attention, the window ac units are super loud so loud that it would wake me up at night, the outside area is a shared space with abutting property and there is no privacy, rental was a little confusing to find as it’s behind a tall wood fence, the key entry instructions were confusing because it stated to enter the asterisk sign and there was no asterisk sign on the key pad, some decor is outdated or broken or dirty. I don’t recommend for a couples getaway or for a family of four because it’s too tiny. I’d recommend if you just need somewhere to sleep and secure your belongings.
