Needs Improvement
The day I arrived I realized that I never received the information for what the unit number was that I was staying (as this is a two-to-three building, two storied property), nor the pass code to get in. I called and emailed the company (Evonify). After some time I received a text and an email stating the info had been sent well in advance. Twenty minutes of scouring my email and texts nothing was there (yes, even the spam folder) while standing with my luggage in the parking lot of the property.
Then, I was sent the rules, unit number and code to enter said unit.
Once in the unit, at first glance the place seemed clean and organized. However, I entered the bathroom and after dropping something on the floor I reached down to pick it up and under the sink I found, a) the plastic packaging for disposable contact lenses, and b) not one but two (2) Q-tips (one used). Also, the shower curtain was on the floor and I reattached it as it was one of those cheap, twisting rods that one can get at any pharmacy or hardware store.
Also, lots of the blinds were missing in the windows throughout the unit as well.
All three nights I was there I was awakened anywhere between 2:00 am and 4:00 am by loud scratching noises in the ceiling and walls. This would go on for no less than 30 minutes or so. On day two (2) I happened to look into the utility closet that houses the forced air/heater in the hallway and noticed a rat trap…and it had been sprung but no rat attached. Only the rattrap and droppings remained. It was then that I realized that there is a rat infestation problem in this building.
I only slept there and showered there all three days as the event I was attending were all day affairs and supplied meals, coffee, etc. However, on the morning of checkout I was going to make one coffee from the instant coffee that was there in one of the cabinets. I searched for a water kettle for a couple of minutes and found one under the counter. It was when I walked over to the sink and popped the lid off of the kettle I noticed a lot of what looked like tea leaves inside of it. Now, this kettle is to make hot water not tea or coffee. No telling how long that they were in there. .…and finally, for some reason the wifi wouldn’t work on my phone the morning of checkout. It worked fine every morning/night I was there except the final day. It seemed to disconnect during the night. I couldn’t get it to reconnect either.
