Christmas trip

We had a 3 generation trip planned for post Christmas and this house was our first stop for 3 nights. It was home base for visiting Hot springs national park and then going to Little Rock to visit presidential library and Central high school. We enjoyed the kayaks and hot tub. It was a great house for us!

Great location for Oaklawn

The property was as pictures show-- though arrangement is a bit odd. We came in December so did not use the lake. We enjoyed the hot tub! Property shows some age and there is a very loud sound when you use the water at times-- but it served our purpose for a winter get-away and to spend time at the Races!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was very roomy with a HUGE master bedroom on the 2nd floor and was well-appointed. We would stay here again.

Plenty of space!

Lots of space for the family. We enjoyed the hot tub, kayaks and dock. Got our workout in each day, with the nearly 100 steps down to the lake! House is just ok- kind of aging, so there were many little things that could use maintenance or updating. Manager was very responsive and helpful in resolving issds

Fabulous lake house stay!

We had a terrific time staying at this lake house. Everything we wanted to do was within 10-15 minutes driving. The house was well supplied with everything we could need for cooking in the kitchen. I only missed some tongs for the grill. There were tons of towels and bedding and blankets. The trek to the dock was a lot of stairs but it wasn't steep and the stairs were in good shape. We loved swimming off the dock. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this home to family groups with kids of all ages.

Beauty Beyond Belief

It was a lovely large place! The amenities were Fabulous! The Hot Tub was amazing! So many extra linens and homey necessities. Great for large group trips!

Amazing Lake house

This house is really beautiful and fully stocked with everything you need to relax and enjoy yourself. We had several family members in from out of town for my son's graduation and we had plenty of space. There are air mattresses if you run out of beds. The outside space is unbelievable! My boys enjoyed the swimming and kayaking, soaking in the hot tub and just hanging out on the deck. There are a lot of steps down to the lake and it is very steep coming back up, but it is worth it.

FAMILY REUNION

This was a family reunion for us and was perfect. The house was located close to all attractions, and the swimming in the river was excellent. The house accommodated all of our needs and gave us plenty of space for individual time.

Lots of space

We loved the outside deck, kayaks, and the hot tub. Fire pit and gas grill are broken though. The appliances are very nice but the cookware is awful. All scratched up Teflon. Both kitchen chairs are broken as is one in the master bedroom. Lots of room to spread out though and the house was clean on arrival. After emailing, phoning and messaging I finally heard back from contact person. Not very responsive overall.

Beautiful location

The house was beautiful, and great location on the lake. I gave it a two-star overall for a few reasons. One this house is supposed to accommodate up to 12 people. Are group had 10, and there was enough silverware for 4 people. The kitchen utensils and cookware are outdated and few. The lighting outside is horrible. If you are outside on the balcony at night you have to be careful because there are no lights and it is very dark. There are nails coming up through many boards. The water pressure in every shower is very little. The dryer did not work. We could not dry any towels we were using during the week. We had to call the property manager to bring us fresh towels in the middle of our stay. I think the house is beautiful and has picturesque views, but needs a lot of updating on the inside.

Great view and deck

The decking at the back of the property is excellent. Great views, great spot for the hot tub. Lots of stairs to get to the boat dock, so be prepared for that. Plenty of beds available. The property had not been cleaned before we arrived. Dirty dishes, leftovers in the oven (discovered by the foul smell), beds had all been slept in and needed the sheets changed. We arrived late at night after a long drive and spent the next few hours cleaning. The dryer didn’t work, so getting clean sheets and towels wasn’t trivial. One of the upstairs toilets leaked, so the bathroom floor was soaked. I sent a message that night to the property manager and NEVER heard back. No apology, no refund, no acknowledgement. It’s a nice house, but spending the first few hours of vacation cleaning isn’t a great start. There is no excuse for not getting a reply from the property manager. It’s too bad: nice house, but bad experience.

Property Has Potential but Needs Better Attention!

There was some definite perks that we liked about our stay like lake access, location, kayaks, outdoor towels, and even soap and shampoo dispensers in all the showers. These were nice benefits; however, the condition of the house and the contents were a major disappointment. In general, it was very hard to get past the musty odor, sagging furniture in the living room area, and worn patio furniture. The home was surface clean, but in need of major deep cleaning with return air vents coated in dust, mold on the patio furniture, bugs in the light fixtures, etc. Upon arriving we noticed a large number of lights not working and we reached out to our property contact. She promptly responded and came to replace several bulbs; however, there were still more that needed replaced. There were other smaller issues, but for reasons discussed above, we did not feel we received the value we paid for this stay and sadly would not return or recommend this property until some of these details are addressed.

Disappointment

This was an annual vacation with our children and grandchild. There were 10 people, from early 70’s down to 4 years old. Our family loves being together, and we had a wonderful time with other. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. The lake was beautiful, we enjoyed having a boat dock on site and swimming. The fisherman in the group enjoyed the lake and we had nice day when renting a pontoon boat. The house and grounds were a disappointment. The deck in the back is full of popped nails and should not be walked on without shoes. It also has many steps; the widths are varied presenting a falling hazard. We would not use the upper-level desk because the railing is very wobbly. There are 110 steps from the house to boat dock. The boat dock has protruding nails that scratched a brand-new boat. The exterior lighting is inadequate making difficult to see when climbing the stairs at night. The shed on the dock was full of water toys that didn’t hold air and are covered in mold. There were three life jackets, a child 20-40 lbs., and 2 small adult jackets, all were moldy. The house has adequate sleeping space, and the bed were comfortable. The bathrooms were outdated but ok. They need to put better instructions for the master bath shower. The property manager had to come over and show us how it worked. This house as an awful main level floor plan for large groups. Small, disconnected rooms and no place to play game comfortably. The room with the TV only has seating for 5 people max. The sofa is small, not very sturdy and one of the arms was barely attached. Both chairs saggy and are difficult to get up from. The dining room bench cushion was filthy and we had use a foot stool for enough seating. The kitchen has a nice stove and ovens, however, the dishes, pots, pan and eating utensils all look like they have come from a secondhand store. They need to label the light switches. There are multiple switches in every room, and none are labeled. The air conditioning in the upstairs is challenging. If you set the temperature to make the 3 bedrooms at the end of the hall comfortable the master bedroom is freezing. Most of the furniture throughout the house is old and saggy. In general, this house needs a lot of updating and attention. This house is not a good value for the money, we would not recommend and will not return.

Huge lakehouse with awesome view

We had a great stay. We were on a working trip and the house provided the space needed for our group. It is little bit of an odd layout, but we really enjoyed the house. There are a few repairs that are needed, but overall, I would stay there again. It was very clean and host were able to help with us internet service in a moments notice.

Nice Stay

The property was great! There were a few minor things that should have been divulged to us before the stay. One, they had been doing some renovations to bring a few windows up to code. So there was a window that was not covered and one that the trim was not put back on but did have a sheet over it. Two, there was extra material left in the garage which included some glass and 2x4's. Three, the code to access entry had been changed and thankfully someone showed up to let us know it had changed. Four, we had a little trouble with the wifi, but it was resolved quickly. So for the price we paid, I expected pretty much a perfect house which was not the case. Overall it was a good trip and we would definitely stay again as long as the house was completely finished. I do recommend this property.

The house is amazing.

There are some updates that could be made to the house/decor, but the new owners are working on it! Overall a great stay - we were rained in, with several children, and the house made it so that we were not right on top of each other - everyone could breathe, relax, and enjoy our time together. Beautiful views (we were there in the Fall). Due to rain, couldn't get outside to take advantage of amenities (kayaks, ping pong, hot tub, etc.), but had a nice stay anyway.
