We are VRBO hosts as well. After renting this home through VRBO, with a secure credit card, you will receive an e-mail that states:
"In order to complete your reservation we will need the following details:
1. Complete and sign the rental agreement (sent by HelloSign)
2. A money order for the complete amount due (the amount on the credit card will be refunded) Due to the increased number of false credit cards and chargebacks we are requiring all reservations to be paid via Cashier's Check/ or Money Order. You are welcome to mail it to our office or bring it in person. The reservation will be canceled until this payment is received.
3. Provide a selfie with your photo ID
4.Provide a photo of your credit card name and the last 4 digits of the card on file that matches the one in the contract and reservation in case of damage. Please hide the first 12 digits as we only need to see the last 4 and the name on the card.
We must receive any answer back from you within 48 hours confirming that you will bring us the money order, otherwise, the reservation will be automatically canceled.
Once we receive this information, we will send you a confirmation with check-in instructions."
You will have a rental, but they will make you drive 30 minutes from the location to drop off your check, regardless of how late you arrive in the evening, and they don't communicate this until you're sitting at the gate with no way to enter. Even after you drive for an hour to make sure they have payment, you will then sit for another extended period at gate while they try to find your "non-existent" reservation. We had 2 vans with 10 people, many of which were sick from our overheated flight, and were denied entry to our home for their lack of communication. After arrival to the gate it took nearly 2 hours to be able to enter our home. After we get through the gate we were given a door access code that didn't work and had to place many repeated calls to get someone to answer to give us a door code that worked.
Once in the home, we found that any ceiling fan that had a light in it did not have working lights. The main floor bedroom smelled like there is a dad mouse and they knew because it's the only room with an air freshener plugged in the wall. Our comforters were visibly dirty and there are not any pool towels, just the one towel per person. Green living room does not exist. We frequent this area often to visit our family there and will NEVER rent from this company again.
