Kaslo is internationally known for its easy to moderate access to stunning recreational activities in the Selkirk and Purcell mountains. Spring, summer and fall recreation is abundant with local access to walking, hiking and mountain bike trails in and around Kaslo. From the Cedar Cottage you will have close access to backcountry hiking terrain in the Selkirk and Purcell mountains.
The vacation rental is a 2 minute drive from Kaslo and its amenities. Kaslo has a variety of restaurants, grocery store, butcher, micro-brewery The Angry Hen and a liquor store. At the Kaslo Adventure Center you can pick up any outdoor supplies needed or rent a kayak or SUP. The North Kootenay Bike shop has mountain bikes or electric bikes for rent and can arrange for a drop at the top of Mt. Buchannon to ride the infamous Friendly Giant trail.
After a day of outside activities head for any of Kaslo's local beaches for a swim or go for a soak at the Ainsworth Hot Springs resort just 15 minute drive away.
