Fantastic Beach House

The house is clean and well maintained. It comes with lots of amenities (everything you would want for the beach, closet of toys and games, a grill and more). It is steps from the beach. The hosts are also extremely helpful and accommodating. Easily the best VRBO hosts I have worked with.

Last minute weekend trip from Houston. Very comfortable, relaxing and perfect beach location in West end. Our host Julie was very accomadating and the rental has everything you need!

Everything was wonderful!

We really enjoyed our stay. The host responds very quickly to all inquiries and is very easy to work with. They left lots of extras in the house for us like snacks, a bottle of wine, coffee and kitchen staples in the refrigerator. The house was clean and comfortable. There's an amazing view and a very short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay at this location again.

What a weekend

Our family decided last minute to head to the beach, and boy are we glad we did! The house was great, tons of amenities, very clean, right on the beach. We will be back!

Great stay for local family

We live in Galveston and like to get a beach house every once in a while for a staycation. This house was great and served our needs very well. The location is great and close to the city so if you want to get in to hit a restaurant or other amenity this is a great location. The house itself was well appointed and clean - there were games, movies, and everything you need for a good beach setup. Working with the host was easy and she helped make our stay excellent. I hope to stay here again in the future.

Labor Day

We rented over the Labor Day Weekend and it was the perfect weekend. We were visiting our son who attends A&M Galveston. The house was perfect for our family of 7. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast and lunch! Bathroom were well stocked. The patio view was breathtaking. We cannot wait to go back!

Staying at Xanadu Cottage was like stepping into a cozy dream!

From the moment we walked in, we were enveloped in warmth and comfort. The kids (even the 17-year-old) were instantly captivated by the cabinet full of top-tier board games. Watching them bond and laugh together was pure magic, making memories we’ll cherish forever. Julie, our host, was fantastic, with communication that made everything a breeze. The view of the beach? Simply breathtaking. Waking up to those ocean waves was like having front-row seats to God's best show. The beds were so comfortable we had to drag ourselves out each morning, and those cuddle blankets? They were a total game-changer! The entire house was a big, comfy hug that made our stay unforgettable.

Steps to the beach!

We loved our stay here. Very nice house with a great deck and awesome views. Wonderful communication with the host. Everything thing you need is already there. Well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Comfy beds. You won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend.

Wonderful

We loved this beach house for our family getaway. It had all the things we needed even for our baby and beach items. Our favorite part was the very close proximity to Bahama Beach. We loved having a temperature controlled outdoor shower for being able to rinse off after being at the beach. Julie was very responsive and accommodating. We will stay here again when we come back to Galveston.

Perfect Get Away

Our stay at this quant was perfect. Our host had left us a bottle of wine and a stocked fridge, with water and soft drinks, which was well above and beyond most places. the arrival time listed and exit times where the main reason we came here versus other places and our host allowed us to come earlier and leave later still. Perfect family weekend getaway

This place was wonderful. It was right on the beach and off the main road in a quiet area. It was a perfect little vacation for our family. Plenty of space and could have accommodated more than our group of four. The house was clean and in good order. It was well stocked and had everything you needed to cook or clean. The host was very attentive and communicative. I can recommend for a family and I would stay here again without hesitation.

The feeling of staying at a family friend’s beautiful beach getaway.

I had the most incredible stay at this beachfront house! It’s an absolute gem, and I would give it five stars without hesitation. The location is breathtaking, with the beach right at your doorstep. The amenities were top-notch - from a well-equipped kitchen to comfortable bedrooms and a spacious living area, everything was perfect. But what truly sets this place apart is the excellent communication with the renter. They were incredibly responsive and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. Whether we had questions about the property or needed recommendations for nearby attractions, they were always there to help. I can’t recommend this beachfront house enough. It’s the perfect getaway for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with all the comforts of home. I can’t wait to return for another visit!

Great location right by the beach!

Our family took a beach vacation at this lovely location - the deck was perfect for reading and listening to the waves. Everything was set up nicely for guests with all the house things and beach things you could need. I would chose this property again!

Perfect for beach getaway

This property was wonderful; the view from the deck alone is reason enough to rent this house! The hosts obviously anticipated anything and everything that you might need and even checked in with us halfway through our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory. The house was very clean and steps away from the beach. Close enough to access shopping along the sea wall but far away enough to avoid the crowds. Since our dogs were welcome, we were able to enjoy morning and evening walks on the beach with them. We brought our own fishing rods buts they even had some at the house as well. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend to everyone else!

Great Getaway

The Xanadu Beach house was the perfect getaway for us. The house is in a great location. It's not too close to the busyness of the Seawall but close enough in case you need to run in for something. It has beautiful beach views and super easy access to the beach. The host was SUPER accommodating and easy to work with, not to mention the nice welcome with fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. The house is clean and organized with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is well stocked for anyone wanting to cook meals. We enjoyed our time immensely. Hoping to go back real soon.

Wondderful Winter Retreat

Decided to spend my birthday at the beach this year with the family and family dog. This place is a little gem. The house was exactly as expected and so was the wonderful view of the beach. The deck and seating was great for enjoying a cup of coffee outside in the morning or a glass of wine at night. In the afternoons, we enjoyed going for long walks on the beach with the dog. Perfect! We loved our stay and Julie was a very attentive host. Our last night, the power went out due to high winds and freezing weather, but the place was well-stocked with flashlights and extra blankets to get us through the cold night. Julie kept us informed of any status changes of the repair to the power until we left the next morning. We would definitely come back again! ...maybe just not during a freak arctic blast. 😂

Perfect experience on family vacation

We could not have asked for a better experience. The host was nothing short of amazing. The location is a short walk to the beach and was perfect for our three toddler grandchildren. We basically had the beach to ourselves, and the host thought of everything we might need. Going back next year!!

Relaxing waves and gorgeous view

Xanadu cottage is a dream come true. The wonderful porch, with very comfortable chairs was the perefect spot for breakfast. People and bird watching was so much fun while we ate. Weather it was sunrise, sunset or an impending storm , the view of the sky and water was fantastic.. We loved being across the road {hardly traveled} frome the beach, allowing us to walk along the beach at will. Julie and Laurence were the most gracious hosts and so helpful. The house is equipped with everything you can imagine for your stay. The informative folder that Julie left answered any questions you might have.. We definately recommend it to everyone wishing to have a peaceful vacation by the beach. It is close enough to go any where you desire.on the island.

We are locally based residents, living within a 60 minute drive of Xanadu Beach Cottage. We clean and maintain the property ourselves and love to provide a more personal touch to our guest's vacation.

Bermuda Beach is lovely smaller beach community, the residents and beach home owners do a lot to keep it a beautiful family orientated location. There is a smaller parking area on the beach as you drive in but the rest of the beach is vehicle free.
