What a wonderful stay we had in this beautiful gem of a home! The home itself is an attached condominium, but no one else was ever around when we were there. The finishings are gorgeous--hard wood floors, paneling, top-of-the-line appliances (Liebherr and Bertazzoni) and beautiful, but comfortable furniture. The very high ceilings on both floors fill the home with light so you never feel cramped. The front garden area has a front stoop and beautiful wrought iron tables for outdoor eating, as well as a hose (which our daughter loved playing with). There is plenty of closet space, a washer and dryer and an outdoor grill. There is a very nice flatscreen TV and the WiFI worked perfectly the entire time we were there. There was not a single electronic item or household item that didn't work perfectly. As for the location, although it is located on a main street, it feels so secluded, and yet, it is literally a 5 minute walk to beautiful Cos Cob village with: a CVS, a park with pond, a local butcher, a local fish monger, a local cheese shop, a few local coffee shops, a liquor store, a gelato bar, and the public library with park. We walked to this village every morning to get coffee, in the afternoon to get lunch, and after dinner to get gelato. If you hop in the car, you are a 5 minute drive from Whole Foods, Greenwich Avenue and Bruce Park. Finally, I cannot say enough about our host. She welcomed us with a beautiful basket of snacks and note with her cellphone number. She was available 24/7 to answer any questions or send anyone over if we needed. She was so prompt to respond and be helpful even with the silliest questions (how does the garbage disposal work). She made our stay so comfortable! I really cannot say enough about the place--for a couple from NYC who wanted to get away from the city but not be totally isolated, to have a nice modern space to ourselves, but not a huge old house, this place was absolutely perfect.
