We had a fantastic week at 3 Roussillon in September 2012. We were a group of 7 adults (aged from 20s to 50s) and one baby. All of us agreed that the house was brilliant.
It's a lovely spacious house with loads of character. The bedrooms are big and all ensuite with spotless bathrooms, windows with shutters and lovely sunlight in the mornings. There are towel heaters in the bathrooms which actually work (a rarity in my experience!).
The pool area is very private and is not overlooked, and it's nicely decked. There are a few comfy sun loungers and a big parasol for shade.
The kitchen is very well-equipped with everything you'd need in terms of dishes, utensils, dishwasher etc. Two lovely big dining areas, indoor and outdoor, and lounging areas inside and outside too, which meant that people weren't on top of each other.
The decor is very nice and neutral and the house is finished to a high standard throughout.
It's about a 7 minute drive into the small town of Gemozac for boulangerie, supermarket etc. There are loads of lovely quiet country roads for walking, jogging or cycling, and there are bikes at the house which are in reasonable nick. Within an hour's drive there are all sorts of interesting towns and villages for day trips or half-day trips.
There are only a couple of slightly negative things I would say about the house:
1. the stairs are very steep and the steps are shallow, so carrying a baby up and down was a biot hair raising! One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor, which would be much more suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
2. Some of the beds were a little uncomfortable
3. No insect screens on the windows, so on the very hot nights when we simply had to open the shutters, we got bitten by mosquitos.
These are minor issues however, overall we had a wonderful stay.
