A perfect week for us in Maui
My husband and I have stayed at the Royal Kahana 3 previous times in different condos each time and at different times in the year. We both agreed that this one bedroom was the best one yet. The condo was clean, had decent upgrades and appliances. The kitchen had everything needed to stay the week and just buy our groceries. The closet had chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and coolers for our beach time. The real perk here was the comfortable bed. It was unexpected that the bed would be as comfortable as our own at home and it really makes a difference when you're staying somewhere else. David and Nancy checked in with us before, during and at the end of our stay. We loved our stay for the week and will definitely plan to stay here again.

Everything was absolutely perfect during our 9 night stay. The condo has obviously gone through a high-end renovation. Absolutely beautiful custom kitchen with plenty of storage. And it was fully stocked with all necessary kitchenware, as well as spices, garbage bags, paper towels, dish soap, etc. The full sized washer and dryer were new, and extremely efficient. There was even laundry soap available. The bathroom was also beautifully renovated with the same granite top as in the kitchen. Plush and comfortable carpet in the living room and bedroom. We were impressed with the fancy bamboo/wicker (?) curtains in the bedroom and living room. And the furniture throughout the entire condo was incredibly upscale and spectacular! High class, Hawaiian style furniture you would expect in upscale, ritzy homes. The lanai (private balcony) had a million dollar view. During many early mornings, we saw rainbows in the distance, and tons of turtles swimming in the water late afternoons. The entire building was extremely well-taken care of, friendly folks, serene and super clean. Concierge staff always greeted us with warm “aloha’s”. We appreciated the complementary, filtered water cooler in the lobby. The location of the property was perfect. Within less than 10 minutes, we were at the very best restaurants and shopping, and secluded and beautiful beaches. We recommend the Cane & Canue, as well as The Banyan Tree restaurants. Home away from home
I have never seen the ocean, let alone fly in a plane so I started researching Maui years ago. Comparing so many other places to stay, even on other websites, this place came at the top of the list with price, view, accommodations, location, etc. You truly feel like you are house siting for someone! You won’t need to buy pesky things like dish soap, seasonings, sunscreen, rent coolers or beach chairs, they have everything there. On top of that, the view!! You can see turtles from the lanai along with the sunset every night. We felt so comfortable there & we already miss it so much. I hope the owners are proud of this place! You can tell they put so much love and thought into this condo. Mahalo for the greatest experience!

Great little respite!
Easy check in parking is like 18 bucks a night now so be ready. Condo had amazing view and literally everything you could need. Kitchen well equipped and beach umbrella was a must. I am partial to the kahana area and this one didnt disappoint. Unless you have small children it might be a bit tight for 4, but it was perfect for us. Ive been lots of times to this area and would do this one again. Bedroom being ocean front was important to me, and even in september you get a great wind tunnel through the condo so we really never used the air. The doors all had holders on them ro keep them open. Its the little things....

Perfect Getaway
We only have nice things to say about our stay at David and Nancy's condo. The condo was cozy and had an updated kitchen . We were very comfortable in every room. We had spectacular views and were close enough to the ocean to be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the waves at night. I could spot sea turtles from our lanai daily and rainbows after a rain. Even though we booked through Vrbo, the staff at the condo were incredibly nice and helpful. There was a concierge on the property that helped us daily. The pool was fantastic and the cute food truck by the pool was super fun. The beach was beautiful and great for snorkeling. We will definitely try and stay there again for our next visit.

Our Anniversary celebration
We were so excited to return to Maui after 35 years. Covid cancelled our 40 Anniversary trip and now at 45 years we were so excited to visit Hawaii. The apartment was perfect. Everything was just as listed. We had mornings on the balcony watching turtles and seeing the beautiful ocean. We had easy access to everything we needed ( North Shore, Ka’anapali, beaches, restaurants). Our host was extremely helpful and we would recommend their home to anyone planning a stay in Kahana. The condo was outstanding and had everything we could want, especially in the kitchen since we eat in most of the time. The BBQ area near the pool was spotless and cleaned everyday. We especially enjoyed the binder that was in the unit with instructions on how everything worked and different attractions in the area. I really appreciated the special extra items: beach items, extra linens, extra towels and extra pillows. I enjoyed waking up and sitting on the lanai with my morning coffee and watching the waves and turtles swim by. Mahalo -- David and Nancy !

This is truly a magical place. We arrived 3 days prior to the fires and we had to leave for safety reasons. However, The listing is accurate in every detail. Beautiful views, lots of space, plenty of kitchen supplies, laundry, beach towels, ect. Just bring shower supplies. You will need those. A/C works great, but we enjoyed turning it off and enjoying the breeze and ocean sounds of opening the windows. Truly magical. There are great local shops and small grocery stores within walking and larger ones a short drive away. The ground are well managed and offer a great pool, clean and cut lawns and gardens. Sea turtles can be seen from deck and many other possible sites. We even saw dolphins running with a catamaran. Owner always was in contact when needed and provided great amount of information upon arrival. They were a joy and blessing to work with. I am sure I am overlooking something, but this was a great experience (minus the fire tragedy) and we would absolutely look to reboot and revisit again. Hopefully Maui and it’s people will recover and rebuild quickly.

Great stay. View was fantastic of the sunsets, ocean, boats, and turtles. The condo itself was very clean, the cooking utensils, pots, pans, you name it they were of great quality. The bed and furnishings were comfortable. Dishwasher, laundry washer and dryer, stove, microwave, and refrigerator all very nice. David provided lots of information about the local area. Restaurant, snorkeling, hiking and beach going ideas. Everything was fantastic and we had zero complaints. We would stay there again for sure. 9th floor was very quiet and perfect to just relax and enjoy.

Awesome stay at this Condo
Our vacation was really great in Maui. We were there this week and stayed at David and Nancy’s condo. Lovely place, very clean with all amenities. Right before the trip David sent a bunch of information which was very useful and also answered promptly for any questions or queries. Their place is a true ocean view. Every morning we had breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean and turtles were swimming in it. This is a lovely place for a small family. The kitchen is equipped with everything you will ever need to cook your meals. It even has all the small appliances like rice cooker, blender etc. My family loved this place as well. The whole facility is well kept. Their pool is heated so nice to soak up at night after you swam in the ocean. We all had a great time in Maui. Thanks to the lovely hosts. If we ever come back I will look up for David’s place again.

THIS is where you want to stay
I don't take the time to write reviews, but I feel I need to because Dave and Nancy's condo is absolutely amazing! My wife and I spent a wonderful week in this condo and it has literally everything you need. We have learned over many trips to Hawaii the need to buy garbage bags, toilet paper, laundry soap and other items that you need during your stay in Hawaii. You don't need any of that here! The home is fully stocked with items to cook with, wash your clothes and they even have beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and body boards to take to the beach. The time and money to rent all these items for a week is just another expenditure you don't have. The condo is maybe 5-10 minutes to the best beaches and snorkeling on Maui. It's important to note, this unit has AC. Don't be fooled by the listings with no AC and claim the "ocean breeze" is enough to cool the place down. We have tried that before and it doesn't work (especially during the summer months.) I didn't see it in the ad, but FYI parking is $15/day at the property. Clean and perfectly stocked condo.
The condo was a pleasant surprise. It is immaculate and tastefully decorated. We were able to eat 1/3 of our meals at the condo. All the equipment we needed for the beach and excursions is provided. The views/sunsets from the balcony are extraordinary. We plan on returning in the future.

Lovely Relaxing Stay
We stayed 8 days at this property & enjoyed our stay. There was everything you would need & more available. Although Kahana is slightly out from the main tourist area it was only a short & inexpensive bus ride to these areas if you wanted to go, this also made for a nice quite relaxing stay. The bus stopped outside the resort & just across the road is a convenience store & 3 restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. The beach has been washed away in front of the resort but it is easy to get down to the beach but the pool area is also great to spend time at. We did have a small maintenance issue but on contacting David & Nancy they very quickly got this rectified for us which was great. Maui condo at Kahana
This property is wonderful, clean, very quiet, great ocean view and easy to find. I just turn left at McDonalds make a quick right turn and your there. Highly recommend this condo.

Amazing views, wonderful accommodations
From the moment we made our reservation I had wonderful and helpful communications from our host. David was quick to respond to my (many) questions regarding our stay and how to tailor it to the things we wanted to do and see. His recommendations were so helpful, and our experience wouldn’t have been the same without his knowledge, kindness and generosity! The condo had a view beyond compare and being lulled off to sleep to the sound of the waves was heaven! We had every amenity we needed to enjoy a comfortable stay, and the area of Kahana was perfectly located between Kaanapali and Kapalua. Amazing view! Great clean property!Great location!
The property is very clean, well stocked kitchen and great location. Only minutes from Lahaina and Ka’anapali! The view off the lanai is the ocean where we watched the sea turtles everyday for two weeks. The bedroom is large and the bed is sooo very comfortable. We were very pleased and will definitely stay there again. Perfect condo for us!

Great Place with amazing views
We truly enjoyed our stay and the property. It was a 5 star plus for everything from the moment we booked it. The owner was so helpful right from start and their condo was definitely a 5 star plus. It was very clean, organized and it has amazing views. We stayed for 2 weeks with us eloping and Honeymoon as well we couldn't have had a better time or stay with such a great host. Wonderful Experience
My husband and I had a wonderful stay here! The condo was conveniently located between all the beaches, has a wonderful view, and a comfortable bed. Although, a car is a must when staying here. Having beach chairs and air conditioning was also a nice touch, as some condos on the island don’t offer either. I can’t thank the hosts, David and Nancy enough, as they were very kind and accommodating. They made several helpful tips and recommendations prior to our stay. Mahalo!

Whale of a Time in Paradise
This was our first time in Hawaii and it was full of wonderful memories. Our hosts David and Nancy could not have been more helpful. David sent information that was so helpful for us to plan our days. They came under several different headings which included - Pre-Vacation important information / Best Beaches / Dining / Snorkel locations / Whale watching boats they recommended etc. And it is one thing to get great information but often they came with precise directions and time from the resort, where applicable, by walking or driving. We shopped for groceries from recommendations from our hosts allowing us to be able to have most meals in. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need for eat in meals. You also have the choice of having a quick Keurig coffee in the morning or a drip coffee if that is your preference. We were here because we were so interested to go on a whale watching expedition. David recommended one Whale watching company, with a very knowledgeable staff, so we truly loved seeing these majestic sea creatures and hearing all the information about them. From our 9th floor suite we could also see much whale activity out on the Ocean. Being right on the ocean we could enjoy hours on our deck looking at the sparking blue/green water as the surf splashed to the shore. Glorious sunsets can be seen from the pool area or a 5 minute walk down the street from the resort to a public access beach. This is a very well built resort - we did not hear noise from the suites above or beside us. And it’s location was very close to downtown seaside Lahaina going 15 minutes South or 10 minutes North to Kapalua. ka-anapali and Napili were even closer. Hotel resorts on the ocean are much more expensive than this wonderful YRBO. This option made coming to Hawaii affordable for us and this is why we can say we certainly had a Whale of a Time on Maui thanks to our great HOSTS David and Nancy. ABOUT DAVID & NANCY LOWERY - Renting our home with VRBO/Home Away is new to us. As a private host we thought we would make it available to guests so others can experience paradise as we have. We live in southern Michigan (Eastern Time Zone). We're both retired, I from a major auto company and wife Nancy from a career as a Registered Nurse at a major Detroit area Hospital. We are blessed with two adult children and four grandchildren. Family is most important in our lives. We love the Royal Kahana Resort for its convenient location with beaches, golf, dinning and exploring. We are close to the excitement of Kaanapali Beach but not in it.

Why the Royal Kahana you might ask? There were many reasons such as the condominiums are air conditioned, it is within walking distance to dining and shopping and the view from our 9th floor lanai is what memories are made of. The Resort location can't be beat. The resort is quiet, and relaxing compared to the mega resorts. The spacious beautiful grounds and pool area are the envy of other condominium resorts. At the others, try to find 4 lounge chairs available. No problem at the Royal Kahana. There is public bus service to the Royal Kahana but we recommend renting a car during your stay so you can fully explore the island as you wish. You are minutes away from more shopping, dining, sightseeing and/or activities than you can imagine not to mention all of the top entertainment on the Island. The on-sight Concierge can help with planning. If you have an afternoon free, the coastal drive north from the resort is stunningly beautiful. Look for that two-track trail leading off the road to that hidden beach. If you are a golfer, famous courses are within minutes. Hiking and snorkel are another option.

The Royal Kahana building is shaped so each condo has ocean views. It is one of few condominiums with central air conditioning. The floor plan of the individual condominium is perfect. Our 1-bedroom unit accommodates 4 people. It's perfect for two couples since the bath area can be closed off from the master bedroom and the living room for privacy. If you have a late sleeper in either the living room or the bedroom, access onto the Lanai can come directly from either room without disturbance. The living room sleeper sofa makes into a Queen size bed. We are on the 9th floor which is above the roof line of the neighboring building. This opens up views of the ocean, West Maui Mountains and the Kapalua Resort area. The views you won't forget. When we are not at the pool, a favorite pastime of ours is to sit on the lanai with a good book and a beverage and admire the island view of Molokai. Molokai is located across an ocean channel, a short 9 miles away. Watch the surfers, kite or sail boarders not to mention the Whales (in season), Sea Turtles and Dolphins at play. Proximity to the ocean is such you'll hear the surf with the windows open as you lie in bed at night. The building is made of concrete so its inherently quiet. We are close enough to the elevators for convenience but far enough, so you won't hear the annoying arrival ding.
