Unsere Löwengrubenhütte liegt auf 50 Morgen Kiefernwald in den Ausläufern von Adirondack. Das Anwesen ist ruhig und sehr friedlich. Wir begrüßen unsere Gäste zum Wandern auf unseren Wegen - Winter, Frühling, Sommer und Herbst. Wir sind zurück in der Natur und nutzen Solarenergie für die Beleuchtung in der Kabine. Da es 12V ist, können Sie nichts an die Steckdosen anschließen. Wir verwenden Regenwasser für unser Badezimmer (Waschbecken, Dusche und Spültoilette). Die Kabine verfügt über ein Queensize-Bett im Obergeschoss und eine hochklappbare Matratze für zusätzliche Gäste. Unten öffnet sich das Schlafsofa zu einer großen Matratze. Eine großzügige Veranda sorgt für angenehme Entspannung. Kommen Sie und sehen Sie, was die Ruhe ausmacht und warum unsere Gäste das Off-the-Grid-Erlebnis lieben!

It was so nice to stay here and take a break from the world. Beautiful cabin! Lovely trails to walk around and it took us right back to our cabin. Figuring out the plumbing was simple with their directions. The bed was very comfortable and the wood stove heated the house well. Definitely would like to stay again!

A little slice of happiness and relaxation!

Our fourth winter trip to The Lion’s Den was exactly what our family needed on our annual trip! Back to nature, quality family time, and the most serene, peaceful environment for a few days. Rick is a fantastic host and provides outstanding accommodations. Comfortable beds, a clean cabin, and acres of stunning scenery to enjoy! We cannot wait to return next winter!

The mix of creature comforts and offgrid cabin stay are perfect. The directions for the water system are easy to follow and the system is well designed. Firewood is dry/seasoned and the kindling made a quick job of getting the fire going. The weather didnt provide much juice for the solar being winter but wasnt really an issue. I'd recommend bringing a power source for charging phones depending on expected sunlight. The kitchenette is very well equiped and we made some great meals.

Lovely, well-made cabin.

Clean, quaint, perfect for a semi rustic outing. Only got to stay one night of two booked (due to sickness) but it was comfortable and with picnic tables, grill, outdoor fire space, seems like a great spit at which to hang with friends.

Magical winter retreat

Perfect Adirondacks Cabin

My family booked this cabin last minute to escape the stress of life for a weekend. It was exactly as described. We choose this cabin because there is a bathroom inside and a large outdoor fire pit area. The cabin was easy to find with the directions provided. There are notes explaining how to use everything on the property. It’s was quiet and beautiful. We could hear the owls and see all the stars. The cabin was definitely warm enough with the wood stove. Highly recommended this cabin. We hope to stay here again soon.

Perfect cold November weekend

My partner and I came up for a long weekend with our two large dogs. The cabin was perfect with the wood burning stove and the impressive rain water system. We spent our days hiking and our nights curled up by the fire. The cabin was clean, with all necessary amenities for northern NY adventures. Thank you for your hospitality!

Weekend getaway

The cabin is amazing and was just what we needed to unwind! We were able to bring our 4 wheelers and traveled about 30 minutes from the cabin to ride in area we were already familiar with. Fall Colors 2022

Last second trip to the Adirondack region, last second find and what a gem. The cabin is made with much love and passion. The off the grid experience, being all solar power and rain water utilities and they still made it have the comforts of your home. Peace and Serenity

The only problem with giving the best review is people are going to start taking up weekends we will be coming back for. But seriously not sure why this place isn’t rented all the time. I know we will be renting the whole 50+acres some time next year and Lions Den at least a few times next year. Might even try back again before it snows this year.. This is exactly the quiet my wife and I have been looking for. Owners are very responsive and seem so kind. It makes the experience that much better. CANNOT WAIT TILL NEXT TIME. Thank you so much Rick and Maria for sharing the beauty of the hard work put into building those places

Our off-the-grid cabin offers our guests a unique experience. From pumping their own rainwater for the shower, sink and toilet to using our solar power for the lighting in the cabin, our guests tell us how special the experience of sustainable living was. With 50 acres of pine woods to hike, explore and enjoy, the rolling foothills offers interesting topography. Our cabins are spaced out on the property to insure seclusion and privacy.

We're right on the snowmobile trails and just 15 minutes from boat and kayak launches.
We are in the undiscovered area of the Adirondacks. Old Forge is one hour and 15 minutes away. Many of our guests go to Old Forge for the day and then return to the quiet of the cabin.
