Lyrebird Studio in the Watagans ist ein abgeschiedener Rückzugsort auf einem ländlichen Grundstück von über 40 Hektar am Rande der Watagan Mountains, 1,5 Stunden nördlich von Sydney und 15 Minuten von Cessnock entfernt winde dich in den bäumen und beobachte die einheimischen vögel und wildtiere.

Das einzige, was Sie hören werden, sind die einheimischen Vögel, darunter Lyrebirds, Königspapageien, schwarze Kakadus und viele andere Arten. Wir haben zwei große Wedgetail-Adlernester den Berg hinauf und Sie können sie oft in den Aufwinde sehen, die sie zu einem unvergesslichen Anblick machen!

Beobachten Sie, wie die Wombats (Wallabies und Kängurus) an den meisten Tagen auf die umliegenden Koppeln kommen, um dort zu grasen. Nachts kommen Wombats aus zu füttern und die lokale Bevölkerung Opossum gelegentlich eine laute Versammlung im Busch halten!

Zu den Annehmlichkeiten zählen eine Klimaanlage, eine kompakte Küche und ein Wohnbereich mit bequemen Sofas und antiken Möbeln. In den kühleren Monaten sorgt ein Glühbauchofen für Stimmung. Das Wohnzimmer bietet auch einen Großbild-TV und DVD-Player, Radio und CD-Player. Das Schlafzimmer verfügt über komfortable Bettwäsche und luxuriöse Bettwäsche, einschließlich Heizdecken. Das Badezimmer verfügt über eine Dusche, Bettwäsche und einen beheizten Handtuchhalter.

Great location, peaceful, relaxing, would go again

This is a great location, away from the busyness of the wineries area, but still convenient to them all. The place is very clean and well looked after. A great host, very welcoming and keen to show you around. Would visit again for sure.

The property was thick with the smell of cigarettes. We had to sleep with doors and windows open. Artist in attached studio had been smoking. Disappointed.

Beautiful bird song

what a relaxing stay in the cozy quirky cottage. Peter kept us well stocked with firewood to keep the pot belly stove hot all weekend. So many beautiful trees and birds. Plus the sound of the lyrebirds as promised.

Excellent place to stay

Exceeded expectations - a wonderful getaway

Tucked away in a beautiful location, this studio met all expectations and then some. Clean and cosy. I am already missing the birdsong and the roaring fire. Wonderful hosts were very welcoming.

Great Hunter Valley cabin

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the remote cabin. It is very spacious and has all amenities. WiFi was patchy, but I was not expecting any reception or internet at all. Kitchen with all appliances you may need.

Enjoy the Surroundings

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and set in bushland like we wanted however we were unaware the owners of the property were on the same land and their home sits less than 20 metres from and looks down onto the studio. Although they were lovely and very helpful it was not exactly the private escape we wanted for our anniversary.

HI,The villa was a very comfortable stay.There was only one dishwasher tablet for our 3 night stay which was a shame, and one of the balcony doors was unable to be locked and the toaster was broken. The condiments which were supposed to be provided were very minimal also (we ran out of tea, coffee & sugar after one breakfast - there was 5 of us staying there)The beds were extreemly comfortable, everything was easy to use.I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted to get around the Hunter Valley, it was located centrally, and it was really easy to find.

Beautiful property, stunning location

My partner and I booked Lyrebird Studio for a mid-week 2 day stay. The location was ideal - it was remote enough to get away from it all (we didn't have much phone reception, which was lovely!), yet still close enough to Cessnock so that we were able to spend a day visiting family-owned vineyards only a short 10-20 minute drive away. Peter met us on arrival and was very welcoming, showing us round the property and he kindly gave us a recommendation on where to have dinner (The Royal Oak Hotel, which had lovely food). The property was very clean, well kept and had a lovely homely feel. We were supplied with everything we could possibly need for our stay. Peter and Di were kind enough to tell us not to rush with our check out, as no guests were checking in the following day - we did not hesitate and asked to extend our stay by another night - we really did not want to leave :) I have already recommended Lyrebird Studio to my friends and family and we will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you Peter & Di for providing us with a lovely break.

A truly beautiful place in the bush, and cosy, homely accommodations. Thanks to our lovely hosts and I hope this area can retain its remote and wild feel, so close to the towns and cities of the Hunter.
