Great location at Northstar

Summer at Northstar is wonderful and this property is close to the village and to the golf course. The house comfortably sleeps 10 guests and has a nice deck for BBQ’s.

Perfect stay for weekend ski trip!

This cabin/lodge was PERFECT for our skip trip at Northstar. The shuttle comes right in front of the house, so it saved a lot of time trying to get to the mountain. Lots of space, very clean, and check-in/check-out process was easy as can be. Would absolutely come back for our next ski trip!

Instructions help!

Vacasa claims they sent an email with notes on amenities but it never came through. Only negative of this property is Zero on site instructions. No binder, no labels, nothing. Garbage note said “Take to North Star dumpster without a map or location of dumpster. One of the toilets might be the lowest toilet ever made so a bit inconvenient for a group of over 50 but all over 6 feet tall! Otherwise nice home, nice location. Bring your own ice if you’re into cocktails!!

The cabin is very nice and the location is excellent with a really easy shuttle service that stops right next to the cabin and takes you directly to the gondola. The cabin was not well equipped and we expected a much higher standard for the price we paid (no coffee to use with the coffee machine, no equipment to start the fireplace, some of lights were not working, etc.). The part that was most disappointing was that there was no flexibility at all on the checkout time - we asked if we can checkout a bit later, and they mentioned that we have to leave at 10AM sharp, we then asked if there is an option to checkout at 10AM and leave the car at the driveway for a few more hours so that we can use the shuttle and ski for another day, and we mentioned that we will move the car out before the next group checks in during the early afternoon, and received a reply that we have to move everything including the car out of the property by 10AM which was really frustrating.

No Air Conditioning as advertised

We stayed at this house with another family May 28-June 4 and the reason why we selected THIS house is because it advertised AC. A couple of days after we checked in, the temperatures began to rise so I sent a message to the property manager asking about the AC that was advertised and I didn't receive a response. I followed up and again, received no response. There was a portable fan and a couple of box fans but would recommend a fan for each room. These fans don't suffice as AC. The home is located in a lovely neighborhood which is great for daily walks and close to the recreation center. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glassware and utensils but could use a few more hand towels and a scrub sponge for cleaning dishes. We could not find any oven mitts. Other items that would be handy: broom & dustpan; pillow cases for the extra pillows that are in the closet; laundry detergent if you are asking renters to start a load of towels before checking out. There were only 8 of us and there were not enough washcloths for everyone. A window in the upstairs bedroom with the very uncomfortable twin beds is missing a screen and the flimsy window shade was broken. There were lots of ants in the house and outside on the deck. We spent alot of time on the deck and enjoyed using the gas grill.

Wouldn't stay here again, needs a deep cleaning!

Upon arrival I called the management company to advise that the downstairs bathroom handle was broken, it didn't open from the inside, so we couldn't use it without leaving the door cracked! A very kind maintenance person called me back and said someone would come in the morning. Nobody called or followed up after that, we were there 4 days. The reason we won't be back, the cabin is dirty. There is dust on most surfaces and mice poop scattered about, including the kitchen. I have photos I will share with management. I moved the ottoman and there was like a years worth of crumbs under it, gross! The cabin is in a great location and is a good size for family but it's dirty. The TV in the living room (right when you enter the cabin) hangs super low, like not even 2 feet off the ground. This was super odd to us, if you have little kids, it would be impossible to keep them from putting their hands on it. Our annual Truckee trip won't be spent here, unfortunately.

Great house for family and access to Northstar

We stayed for lunar new year and enjoyed the house greatly. It is well-located for access to Northstar as the first stop coming to/ from the village on shuttle buses. There is lots of room and the kitchen is well stocked. Everything was comfortable and clean. The lights didn't really work the way they should in some of the rooms and we couldn't figure it out at all over the pool table - may be a maintenance issue. But that's a small thing for what was an overall excellent stay.

Great Home for large family!

It was a great home for our family reunion. Something for everyone, even in a 4 day snow storm! Super close to the Northstar Village, with very convienient shuttles, with very happy drivers. Everyone could come and go as they pleased. 12 people fit easily and comfortably.

We were very happy with this property. We have rented many cabins in tahoe this was one of the best. Clean and comfortable. Reasonably priced. Plenty of space for a large family. Will be back again.

Great location and space

We really liked the location within a few minutes drive of the Northstar base. The home was as pictured and described. I think the only things that could be improved is to have some chairs on the deck around the table that is out there. The bathrooms, kitchen, and decor could use updating, but they are as pictured so I can't really complain about that. We still felt it was a good value for what we paid. Thanks for allowing us to stay!

Highly Recommend!

We loved this rental! The entire process was smooth and easy, and the house was beautiful! From the stocked firewood, to the extra blankets stored all over, this place was set up and had everything we could have wanted! The Northstar shuttle comes right up to the house, so it’s in such a convenient location. (The steam shower was also a hit!) 10/10 would recommend this place for anyone with a big group visiting Northstar!!

Great Northstar home

We enjoyed staying at this charming residence. Conveniently located, we were always 1st stop on the shuttle route :) We were expecting a jacuzzi onsite but it is located at the rec center so that was a little disappointment. There were no salt, no oil, ...completely empty refrigerator and pantry. But otherwise very well equipment kitchen. Overall, we would love to go back. Thank you.

Fantastic property, great location!

My wife and I came to Northstar with our son and his fiancé to preview their wedding venue (the Zephyr Lodge) and do food and cake tastings plus a day of skiing. We were joined by my son’s future father-in-law and his sister. The home accommodated all of us very comfortably.

Perfect for ski outings

This nicely appointed house has plenty of space, a great kitchen table, nice fireplace, and a pool table for apres ski competition. Our group loved the fact that the shuttle to the ski resort was only a few steps away.
