Wonderful family vacation!

This was our second time staying at Kuhio Shores and our first time in this ground floor unit. The experience is the best of the island - hands down! We loved the immediate access to the waves and the grounds from our patio and the proximity of everything in Poipu. The condo is spacious and you can't beat the sound of waves crashing at night from your window. Parking and laundry access at the complex make this a great, clean and accessible spot for families. It's a 10/10 stay and we can't wait to come back.

Breath taking sunsets every evening

Stayed Dec 19-24th. Fantastic location easy walk to cafes, stores and snorkeling beaches. 5 minute drive to BEST swimming beach (Kiahuna... which is quieter and less hectic than Poipu beach). Condo layout maximizes views of the ocean. Yes, there are people walking in front of the unit but we did not find it irritating but rather enjoyed seeing the surfers come and go. Quiet at night even with the (most amazing Beach House) restaurant literally next door (ate their twice). Beds are comfortable if a little soft (we prefer firmer mattresses). Extremely clean with updated bathrooms and kitchen well stocked with needed supplies including spices and cooking oils. Would defintely stay again at this unit.

The condo is always clean and inviting and the kitchen is well appointed. The location is probably one of the best on the Island, with the spectacular views of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. Honeymoon by the break

I chose this spot because of it’s location to the surf break. It’s directly in front of it, which is what my husband wanted as a convenience during our honeymoon. It was the only swell on the island at the time so he was able to surf daily. For us, it fit our honeymoon standards, but if you want privacy this may not be the best fit. Many people sit on the lawn directly in front of the condo to watch the sunset or surfers. Often times we returned home to find people sitting on our patio furniture. It really is a great property in every other aspect though. I recommend to those who are looking to be right in front of the waves and interested in meeting locals and other tourists!

Great view

25 feet of grass between the patio and shoreline. Locals hang out at and sometimes on the patio to surf. They were really nice and fun to watch. Good snorkeling beach next to the property and plenty of gear in the unit. The sun sets over land in June, so the sunset parties were kinda tame. The unit is comfortable, up to date with good, quiet AC. The $25 pool / gym is a 5 min drive. It was nice but I didn't need it. The wedding was fun, had a quick dance with the bride. They took the tent down! Tent didn't bother me but nicer view out that window without. Would stay there again. Mahalo.

A little slice of paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had concerns initially as bed linens on one bed had lots of black particulate matter throughout. I was able to reach Vicki who reached out to the housekeeper to change the sheets. Vicki was somewhat dismissive of my concerns stating that it was only brown lint from the dryer. She said my concerns were “interesting”. The housekeeper Malina was very responsive and understanding. Once this issue was resolved we had a wonderful time. The location offers spectacular sunrise and sunset views.

Perfect!

This condo worked great for our family of 4! Great sunsets and location. We loved being able to walk right out onto the lawn off the lanai. Even with the Beach House restaurant next door, it was quiet. We really appreciated having a boogie board and the 3 beach chairs. Kitchen was well-appointed (there are now enough coffee filters to last years lol). We will be back!

Paradise with an Ocean View

We have been coming to Kauai for forty years and have enjoyed both the Grand Hyatt and other condos, but this view is unbeatable. The unit is in excellent shape with lovely appointments. Thanks to large windows and mirrors, we could enjoy the views from every angle. We also enjoyed walking to Spouting Horn, Kukui'ula Village, and Poipu Beach. And anytime we felt like snorkeling, we just walked a few steps to Lawai Beach. Whenever we ventured out, we were delighted to return to our lanai and embrace the views. We made sure we were home to watch sunsets and loved watching both turtles and surfers. In the past, we always loved going to the Beach House, but with this view, I recommend you bring your own fixings for MaiTais! Some reviewers complained about weddings next door. Over the weekend, there was one wedding and a number of people milling about to watch the sunset. We never found the activity unpleasant. In fact, we found joy in watching so many people sharing the ocean whether they were locals fishing or a young couple getting married. If you need privacy, the cleverly designed window coverings, sliding doors, and AC will allow it.

The unit itself was beautiful and very clean. It was only my husband and myself so only one bedroom was needed, and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the surfers. The tent at the restaurant was up the entire stay, so views were obstructed. There is also a lack of privacy due to it being an end unit, with locals walking past the windows throughout the day and evenings. The locals also spend days (setting up beach chairs and blankets during the day) on the lawn only feet from, and directly in front of the patio and others show up in the evening with chairs , or to stand to watch the sunset. I reserved this corner unit for the views and was disappointed the lawn area is so heavily used by others. For that reason I took 1 star away. However, the unit itself was immaculate and very comfortable with great air conditioning and ceiling fans.

Amazing Surfing Shows Daily!

This property is located in an ideal spot that showcases the daily surfing that takes place right in front of the unit. We enjoyed the ability to never have to leave our unit to snorkel at the beach in front of Snorkel Bob's. We loved seeing a wedding at the Beachhouse right next door- although the tent remained up our entire stay so the west-facing views aren't quite what the photos of the unit are currently. The unit was meticulously clean. The management company was responsive to any questions. We would stay there again.
