Villamena ist ein altes Landhaus im Herzen Umbriens. Es liegt inmitten der grünen Hügel auf halbem Weg zwischen Rom und Florenz und nur acht Kilometer von Assisi entfernt, der Heimat von St. Francis. Der Name stammt von einem berühmten Kupferstecher, Francesco Villamena, der dort lebte. (1566-1624). Es wurde im Mittelalter erbaut und befindet sich seit Jahrhunderten im Familienbesitz. Es wurde unter Verwendung von Originalmaterialien renoviert, um exklusive, sehr gut eingerichtete Apartments zu schaffen, von denen einige über einen Kamin verfügen und alle über einen gut ausgestatteten Garten verfügen.
Der Komplex bietet nicht nur die Ruhe der unberührten umbrischen Landschaft, sondern ist auch ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt, um einen Sightseeing-Urlaub mit Spaziergängen und Wanderungen zu verbinden. Die Villamena liegt 450 Meter hoch in den Hügeln und bietet daher einen atemberaubenden Blick über die Hügel, die teilweise kultiviert und teilweise forstwirtschaftlich sind.
Die Eigentümer haben 25 exklusive Reiserouten in drei Sprachen vorbereitet, um sie mit ihren Gästen zu teilen, damit sie direkt von Villamena aus spazieren gehen oder andere Teile Umbriens wie Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco und Gubbio besuchen können. Diejenigen, die sich für die italienische Sprache interessieren, haben die Möglichkeit, individuellen Italienischunterricht von einem qualifizierten Lehrer nehmen zu lassen.

Tolle Unterkunft in schöner Umgebung

Die Ferienanlage ist wunderschön und ruhig gelegen, jeder kann hier auf seine Kosten kommen. Die Vermieterin ist sehr hilfsbereit, 1x / Woche gibt es ein sehr leckeres Essen serviert. Pool und Außenanlagen sind top, Tennisplatz ist allerdings in schlechten Zustand, auch der Fußballplatz war am Ende des Sommers eigentlich nicht mehr bespielbar. Man erhält Ausflugstipps, die mit großer Sorgfalt ausgewählt wurden, viel besser geht es nicht. Wer sich hier nicht erholen kann, dem ist wahrscheinlich nirgendwo zu helfen.

Special experience in Umbria

Raffaella and her family made us feel very welcome. The apartment was clean with amazing history and character. Wonderful few days with our two teenagers. The gorgeous pool with amazing view was outstanding. Easy location to Assisi and other hill towns in Umbria. Had laundry and also plenty of outside tables for picnics on site. Did hear the dogs barking in the distance. Only downside was we hit a hot spell, they did provide fans and the building did hold the coolness well. The morning air was glorious. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Assisi mooie stad enger huis lag er vlakbij. In de heuvels lekker koel. Alleen een kurkentrekker en beetje keukengerei ontbrak maar verder meer dan aangenaam!

Two weeks of fantastic fun

It looked great on the website, but just wait until you get to Villamena! Stunning and up there with out best holidays ever. Apartment was clean with great roof terrace to sit in the evening and put the world to right. Good clean laundry very useful to keep on top of the washing. With our three boys, who needs Pokémon Go when you have medieval hilltop towns stacked in history, a great pool, tennis, table tennis, football and table football. It was a struggle every evening to get the boys out of the pool. Assisi, Spello, Gubbia and Perugia for day trips were brilliant. We even managed a day trip to Rome by train which went like clockwork. Suggest open top bus first then pick out top places you want to see. Colosseum will not disappoint. Rafaella and her mum were absolute honeys and dealt with our every need. We were really excited when we booked. It ended up being everything we wanted and more. Danny, Jane and boys

Calme et convivialité

Le site est superbe avec une très belle vue sur les collines d'Ombrie depuis la piscine. L'accueil est chaleureux et la proximité des autres gites permet aux familles de créer des liens quand il y a des enfants, même quand ils sont grands. Les animaux sont acceptés. Il manque peut être quelques équipements et de la vaisselle pour que tout puisse être parfait. La région est très riche culturellement avec des villages magnifiques à visiter et des randonnées sauvages à découvrir.

Beautiful place close to Assisi

The accommodation was comfortable and clean. The facilities were great: lovely swimming pool with fantastic views and a well kept tennis court. The location is convenient for Assisi. Raffaella and her family were warm and helpful hosts, even providing a meal one evening. I'm sure we will go back some day.

Unbeatable Hospitality With Noble Umbrian Flair

Immediately we arrived we knew we had found the right place - a friendly welcome, a hamper of local goodies and a home-made freshly baked torta awaiting us in our appartment. Homely, yet under-stated professional touches everywhere which means everything is clean and everything works. Villamena is in a fabulous rural location with beautiful views and yet ideally placed for visiting Assisi which is only ''a hop, skip and jump'' away. We could have probably happily spent a week within its resort setting without setting a foot outside except to load-up occasionally on local delicacies. There are huge expanses of lawn, a large swimming pool and a lovely tennis court surrounded by poplar trees. We experienced Italy at its best here - olive oil, wine, black truffles, chianina steaks, strangozzi pasta (a type of local spaghetti) and, of course sunshine. Our villa remained cool within its thick stone walls so we were always comfortable. The owner/manager Raffaella conducts herself with extra-ordinary flair. You feel almost part of her family in Villamena which gives you a glimpse of hundreds of years of rich Italian heritage. Touring Umbria becomes easy because Raffaella is a font of knowledge and shares it willingly. And you will find in your appartment absolutely outstanding guides to the surrounding towns and restaurants - including detailed maps of walking trails. The quality of the guides is second to none. We had never been to Assisi before and it exceeded our expectations. We love cities where pedestrians have priority, full of splendid architecture, restaurants and artisinal shopping. And whether one is religious or not the Basilica of Saint Francis is a uniquely beautiful architectural sight.. We will be back many times to Villamena and Assisi. This is an experience not to be missed.

Lovely, stylish apartments.

An attractive, well cared for group of apartments amidst stunning scenery. Lots of open spaces to chill out in and a good place to spend time away from it all!! We particularly enjoyed lounging by the swimming pool. Good for teenagers with swimming, football, tennis & table tennis. Friendly, welcoming family, and very helpful when needed.

Highly recommended appartments

Villamena is in a wonderful secluded location with beautiful views over the Umbrian countryside. The villa we stayed in was spacious, spotless and well equipped. The pool is magnificent with plenty high quality sunbeds for all guests, there is a new tennis court, table tennis and BBQ. Rafael is charming and full of tips. She could not have been more helpful. The location of Villamena, particularly its proximity to Assisi and the stunning hilltop villages of Umbria made it an ideal base for travel. Car is essential however. Highly recommended! Fantastic !

Already twice we've spent our holidays at Villamena. The flats are very spacious and comfortable, the service is perfect ! Whether sightseeing in nearby towns or relax at the pool or in the garden: Villamena and the beautiful Umbrian countryside - that's pure relaxation. We'll be back next year !

Corner of paradise

Lombardy requires a little perseverance after Tuscany when we just come from France, but what happiness, is better then in Tuscany. And in the middle of Lombardy, at carillon distance from Assisi, you will find the wonderful house Villamena, in calm campaign, but very accessible. We spent two wonderful weeks with extraordinary visits in ancient cities and a very green and pleasant countryside. Hosts are delicious at, and encounters with other residents exquisite, then let you seduce by this corner of paradise.

Our Stay at Villamena

In October of 2008 we, a family of four, rented from Raffaella Covina, a wonderful space in Villamena. The accommodations were wonderful. 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a galley kitchen........the place is beautiful,located high in the hills above Assisi. We loved returning home there every night after our travels into the surrounding mountain towns. The best part of our whole visit, though, was meeting Raffaella and her family. Raffaella took such wonderful care of us and we loved being a part of her "family" for the two glorious weeks we were in her home. (Villamena being a family country house with many different variations of accommodations). Be sure and stay at this wonderful home! If you're there in the summertime, there is a swimming pool, a tennis court. We played bocce on the lawn.
