We were looking for peace, quiet and privacy and the cottage provided all of that. The cottage and its situation were exactly as shown in the photos. Even though it is a "Tiny" cottage, it was very spacious for the two of us, even though, when not walking the beach, we mostly had to stay inside due to the unseasonally cold weather. We expected cool weather in the pre-season (mid-May), but there was a fierce, cold North wind blowing most of the time! And apparently snow, though not where we were. The panoramic views of the ocean from the multiple sliding doors were great. We had little desire to leave the area (one sightseeing drive) other than a couple of trips to the grocery store.
It was unfortunate that, due to the cold, we were not able to take advantage of the spacious deck around the house, nor keep the doors open to let in the air and the wave and bird sounds. It must be gourgeous in the warm summer weather.
We took advantage of the beach for numerous walks. The rocky beach in front of the cottage was beautiful and interesting to walk, which we did most days, and the sand beaches, to the east and in nearby Greenwich park to the west were a bit easier on our winter legs.
I found the Murphy bed very comfortable. We have been thinking of putting one into our guest room but this was the first time that we had slept on one. I forgot to check what the mattress was - it worked well.
The only reason that the cottage did not get 5 stars was due a a water issue that was fixed, but testing results did not come in until after we had left. We managed OK though.
