Diese drei reizenden Cottages befinden sich in einem verschlafenen Dorf auf einem kleinen Feldweg auf dem nicht arbeitenden Bauernhof des Eigentümers. Als ehemalige Scheunen wurden sie liebevoll umgebaut, wobei viele schöne Merkmale wie freiliegende Balken und freiliegende Steinmauern erhalten wurden. Tawny Owl Barn und The Pig Sty verfügen jeweils über einen Whirlpool (zum Selbstkostenpreis). Für zusätzliche Entspannung sorgen Bademäntel, Handtücher und Hausschuhe im Preis.
Nur 10 Minuten außerhalb des Nationalparks Peak District sind die Unterkünfte von Ackerland und Feldern umgeben. Die nahe gelegenen Linacre-Stauseen und Wälder bieten in den Frühlingsmonaten viele Wanderwege zwischen einem Teppich aus Glockenblumen. In der Umgebung finden Sie zahlreiche Sehenswürdigkeiten. Die Stadt Chesterfield, berühmt für ihre krumme Spitze, ist nur 15 Minuten entfernt. Das herrliche Chatsworth House und die beliebte Marktstadt Bakewell sind in nur 20 Minuten erreichbar. Mike and Karen reached out via email and when we arrived nothing was too much trouble. We hired two of the cottages in early September for a family break and to explore the Peak District. The cottages are beautifully positioned giving you access to places like Bakewell, Chatsworth and Matlock. The cottages are close enough to pubs to stagger back and have loads of great walks from the front door. The cottages are all self contained with parking and are nicely appointed providing you with everything you might need whilst away from home, although I’m pretty sure Mike and Karen would do their best to help if you had a request. We had a really nice time and will visit again, these cottages are a delightful base in one of the most stunning parts of England, with so much to do on your doorstep. We had Tawny Barn Owl and Pigsty, our tip would be to hire the hot tub, very nice in the evening. We have no hesitation in recommending these cottages and look forward to our next stay. Karen and Mike have managed to make such a difficult time seem to disappear this past week. We couldn’t thank them enough for their hospitality whilst staying in the Tawny Owl Barn. Thankfully, we managed to make an extremely lucky last minute booking here and have loved every single minute. Everything was clean, well presented and had all the necessary amenities. Lovely cottage in rural location

The property was very clean, in a great location and the owners were really helpful. We booked the hot tub and I recommend that. It was big and a great hit with the children. We had access to the biggest video library I have seen. We only stayed for 3 days but could happily have stayed for longer if we could.

Karen and Mike are lovely hosts, very welcoming and responsive to requests. Gave us loads of tips on good places to eat or buy supplies and also great tips on where to visit. Only minor disappointment was that they have recently changed cleaners and there is room for some improvement! Overall we had a great break and would definitely book again. Lovely location loads to do nearby, but don't go to Dovedale at the weekend there are to many people not enough opportunity to social distance we didn't hang around! Very friendly and helpful hosts. The cottage was very traditional and cosy and very clean and well equipped. The many owl features were a lovely touch to "Tawny Owl". The hot tub was very relaxing and the communal store of DVDs and books a very thoughtful idea. An delightful retreat in an stunningly beautiful area

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this perfectly appointed cottage in an idyllic setting. The cottage has been decorated with lovely attention to detail and is both cosy and modern and perfectly suitable for a weekend of walking and relaxation. The hot tub made my children feel like VIPs.

Very friendly owners.

Very friendly owners. Lovely patio with barbecue and coals included. Paid for use of hot tub which we all enjoyed. Lovely place for our dog and a nice walk to the reservoirs from the property. Lovely weather so didnt stay in much so not sure what we would have done otherwise although there is a store full of books, games and DVDs on site. Overall great, just lacking a few little touches for us. Some basics missing,kitchen roll,handwash,some wiping needed in kitchen. We had a fab time at the cottage.

We had a fab time at the cottage. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Our hot tub was out of use the 1st night but they kindly allowed us to use theirs and the pool which was brilliant. The location was great for bakewell and we were given information about things going on. There were 5 of us and so probably the only downside side was the person sleeping downstairs had to go through a bedroom to use the ensuite bathroom in the night. This wasnt a big problem for us but depending on your party could be a pain. Also the log burner was really full of ash etc so we couldnt keep it lit. We did empty the tray but it needed a proper empty as it wouldnt stay lit. Despite that it was plenty warm enough, clean, cosy and perfect for our girls meet. Thank you.

Beautifully decorated and spacious with all the comfort needed. Ideal spot away from main roads and plenty of guaranteed parking. Hot tub is fabulous. Well worth dipping in after a day of hiking. Only one draw back that there is no door on the downstairs bedroom, only a curtain, which would be an advantage and I'm sure could be rectified. Will definetely concider staying there again. Having been to a few different cottages I would say this has been the best one yet and I would recommend it to anyone.

Great weekend had.
