Tired Mansion

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin is old and tired. I imagine was nice back in the day but needs renovated. Only one room with its own bathroom. Mold in the showers, cabinet paint all chipped up, very dated and not well maintained. Found a cockroach - which I had to hide from the kids or we would have left that day.. maintenance had to come fix the gate, but unfortunately, it still did not work properly. Driveway was crazy. We had a great trip, but the house needs updated.

Graduation Family Trip

The property was very nice, you are in the middle of nowhere, so if you were loud, it's not a problem. I loved that the pool house is separated from the house. We also had a visitor (a bear), I wish I could attach the video. We were sitting on the back porch and when we saw it. We took video inside the house through the window. The only minor thing was, the cabin could have a little cleaner. There were flies in the master bedroom in the tub. Also the driveway to get to the gate is like a roller coaster. I would rent again though.

Awesome views, great pool house but outdated and dirty house

Overall had a great time but the house needs an overhaul cleaning wise and updated master bathroom very old and toilet had puke or something on the base. Wouldn’t book again for the price we paid for 4 days . ($9200) . Recommend reducing the price or putting money into the property.

Secluded location with an awesome view

We had a great week at this place with extended family. It’s secluded and you really don’t have to leave once you are there. Plenty of space for the family to gather and plenty of room to spread out. The pool and fire pit area were heavily used the whole week, and there is an awesome view of the mountains we couldn’t get enough of. We even had a few visits from a black bear. Two minor dings - they weren’t ready to check us in at 3 on the day of arrival. - they need to do a better job of cleaning the place between guests. Several places need some extra attention, nothing that was a mood killer, just clearly haven’t been cleaned in awhile.

Now remember how expensive each night is

Reviewer Comments: We would not recommend You would think the leaves would have been blown away from in front of the doors, they would have picked up the trash lying around, wiped off the countertops and tops of dressers, cleaned the spills off the poker table, cleaned the coffee pots and emptied the ashtray at the front door, but they did not. This was not the best stay we have ever had but not the worst, although I can't remember what was. The concept of all this in one house was amazing but reality was we will not do this again. This was over a 10k trip and not something we can do all the time. WE really expected a lot better and cleaner house for the money we spent. We had to wash all dishes before we used them and clean all rooms. Just because when you walk in the house it gave you the feeling it was not clean.

Did not live up to our expectations

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is very dated and poorly maintained. The front door and the sliders were very squeaky. We had to buy WD40 to apply to them. The kitchen was poorly maintained. The dishwasher was touchy about starting. The toaster was touchy about working. One drawer was crooked and wouldn't shut properly. The paring knives were dull; we had to buy a sharpener. There were 2 can openers; neither worked. There was no grease trap on one of the grills, which attracted bears to our porch, and it also ran out of gas during our stay. The Blackstone griddle didn't heat adequately.We had to call maintenance 3 times for the a.c. The first call was for a leak that was dripping from the ceiling onto the game room table. Then the a.c. on the second floor and master bedroom stopped working. The temp went up to 83°. It took 2 days and 2 visits to get it fixed. The first tech added charge to one unit. The upstairs temp that night never went below 82°. We called again the next morning. We were told a tech would be there that morning. Then the time was changed to late afternoon. He arrived even later, so we lost a whole day due to waiting for him. This time it was a defective capacitor in the other unit. To make matters worse, there was no ceiling fan in one of the upstairs bedrooms nor in the master bedroom. The knobs to open the windows had been removed all over the house, so we couldn't get any outside air. This is a huge concern and a real hazard in case of a fire. In one bedroom the fan worked, but the lights on the fan didn't. There was no pull chain to turn them on. In the master bedroom, the bed was very squeaky.The temp in the hot tub couldn't be lowered below 103° without leaving the cover off which you are not supposed to do. The hot tub filter was 12 days past due and the date on the controls was set at 5/2014. The outdoor shower was turned off somewhere inside the pool house. The TV in the pool bar area didn't work. We were very disappointed in

Shambles for a Mansion

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Horrible,nasty, and very unclean. After paying 7 grand for 4 days I expected to walk into saying WOW. Instead I was extremely upset about how nasty the mansion was. Had to go buy cleaning supplies to clean the house ourselves which took half the day. Walked up to the home looked like noone has touched the outside in forever. Not inviting at all.Fireplace dirty,dead bugs in eye sight,spider webs so big looks like it's been in the making forever. After contacting Elks Resort they sent a guy out but after hearing his story that HE only have an hour to turn around a mansion this size I couldn't be pissed with him.. Also, on the video in the pool area it's only 1 pool not 2. I would've like to have been told this before I booked. Very misleading. A beautiful Mansion like this should invest more in the workers cleaning the house.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Booked Mountain View Mansion for our first family vacation since the pandemic began and we were absolutely delighted. Check in via phone text was seamless & property was ready a little before stated check in time. Be aware that the access road to the property is very narrow, steep, windy and unlit; best to arrive during daylight hours. The property was clean and welcoming when we arrived. The home was spacious and comfortable There are plenty of common areas indoors and out to gather. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. The view is unsurpassed. Pool house was great, although hot tub is no longer IN the pool house,as pictured. It has been replaced with free standing outdoor hot tub which we enjoyed under the stars at night and with mountain views during day. Loved the fire pit. We enjoyed watching our dvds on the pool house theater projector - fun! Note: photos of the rental property need to be updated to avoid possible confusion – for example the full kitchen pictured in pool house has been removed, although refrigerator and a microwave remain. Minor issues we had with the property were addressed promptly. We noticed the propane tanks for the grills were empty when we arrived, but maintenance responded quickly to our call and took care of replacing propane and servicing grills. We were impressed by his courtesy,professionalism and efficiency. Our family would definitely book a vacation rental through Elk Springs Resorts in the future.

Website Photos Can be Deceiving!

Reviewer Comments: Upon arriving and to our dismay, we were not very thrilled to find several things wrong with the home as well as it being outdated. We paid over $5,000 for this property and for the owners to not keep it in luxury style is terrible. Here are our reviews about the home: * Could not access WiFi and Internet until Friday, Oct 1 when Xfinity technician came out. * Upon arriving the air conditioner on the main level was inoperative; called maintenance and he responded and was able to fix it.* There were numerous bees swarming the area and bee hive living in the bush bed directly by the front entrance door. The exterminator never showed up as we were told from maintenance.* The home is outdated. * Kitchen cabinets are old and some broken off the tracks. * Refrigerator outdated. * Ceiling fans issues: * Dead bugs in all of the fans throughout the house. * Lighting is extremely dark especially in the kitchen because most of the lights in the ceiling fan only had 1 bulb instead of 2-3 bulbs. * One of the upstairs bedrooms ceiling fan didn't work when the light switch was turned off. Not the Best Trip For the Price

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I visited the Elk Springs Resort Mountain View Mansion on this past Monday, September 27-29, 2021. We paid a total of 4,040.00. Although the view itself was spectacular, I was overall displeased with this stay. The primary reason was because I went into the master bedroom to get some rest for the night and when I pulled the blanket back I saw two large separate spots of a dry white substance which resembles semen.....I immediately began to question..,.if the blanket is dirty and not cleaned properly what else had dirt lurking around it. Earlier my mom said it was dead bugs and leaves everywhere and began sweeping....then she washed her linen because she said it smelled dirty before I found spots on my blanket. The bulbs in the bathroom had extreme amounts of dirt on them, and we were emailed by the office that the projector screen was not working in the pool area. In addition to all this, we went outside Monday night to use the fire pit and it was full of ash and dirt all around the pit we did not use it because no one wanted to clean the mess out after all we did pay a maintenance and cleaning bill. We called and left a message at the front office around 5:30pm about all the items above including electrical outlets that did not work in the kitchen counter when we tried to plug in devices.They called back at 6:38pm saying they received the message but sent no one to the property. The next morning I called the office and reiterated what I mentioned above and added the new problem which was the possible semen on my sheets. Not ONE time did the person I spoke with apologize for the inconvenience. She just said she would send a team out to the property to address the issue and report it to management.! The maintenance staff Mark? And the housecleaning staff Loli ? Showed up at separate times around 1:00pm Tuesday to fix the issues mentioned above. Best vacation ever

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, the staff was great anytime I text, called or emailed with a question they responded quickly. The home was beautiful, clean and spacious for the entire family. The children loved the pool and family time around the fire pit. The view was amazing and our experience will live on forever. We’re already thinking about coming back soon. The home had rooms and doorways wide enough that my sister-in-law was able to come by and use her scoter in the home and at the pool so she was able to keep up and be apart of everything.
