Ocean Beach Cottages... Fun to Do:
1. Check out the TIDEPOOLS, there are great tide pools under the pier at low tide. If you want a little more adventure tide pooling walk along the seawall and under the pier, follow the path past the white fence to the stairs that lead to the cliffs. Walk along the cliffs, check out the tide pools, the views and end up at a beach that can only be accessed from the cliffs.2.Drive along SUNSET CLIFFS NATURAL PARK go to Sunset Cliffs Blvd and go south (right) drive along the cliffs and park at any of the parking lots, stroll along the path or drive to the end of the road (stay right at the fork in the road). Park at the end of the street to walk down a staircase that leads to great tidepools, views and a beach only accessed by the cliffs! Worth the walk down the stairs! 3.Have a BONFIRE ON THE BEACH grab some firewood from the market, grocery store or gas station and head to the one of the fire pits on the beach. Great way to relax and watch the sunset, roast some hotdogs and make some s’mores! 4.Try a SURF LESSON there are lots of great places to surf in San Diego, learn how right on this beach! Check out Ocean Beach Surf School, they are right around the corner and offer private, semi private and group lessons, they have rentals as well.
5. WALK OUT ON THE PIER enjoy the views, watch the fishermen, the surfers and the birds fly by. Or try fishing! There is a café with good food and great views. This is the west coasts longest concrete pier and just celebrated 50 years!
6. On Wednesday’s check out the FARMERS MARKET local farmers, restaurants, bakeries, musicians and more!
7. RENT A BIKE and cruise around.
8. SHOP ALONG NEWPORT AVE. there are lots of unique shops along Newport Ave.
9. Take a drive to CABRILLO NATIONAL PARK beautiful drive on top of Ocean Beach/Point Loma to the end of the peninsula. Stunning views of the San Diego Harbor, Downtown
