Perfect for Rutland water

We stayed as two couples, the place provided plenty of space for us, and the two en-suites were great to have our own privacy. Large kitchen and social areas. We greatly enjoyed the games that are there to use, nice touch. Great stay.

Lovely property in a lovely area

Quiet, clean and well laid out property in a lovely little village. Fabulous food at the pub next door and only 5 miles from Rutland water where we spent 2 days cycling, playing mini golf and enjoying the beach and nature. Gill was a very welcoming host. We would love to return.

Quiet, clean and warm

Perfect for our long weekend. The cottage is really clean and comfortable. They took dogs and there are footpath walks for them nearby. Its in a village right next to the A1 and has a quirky local pub right next door. The bar maybe small but the food is superb.

This was an ideal location for meeting up with friends staying at Rutland Caravan Park for the Tandem Club Rally. The roads were very quite for cycling and the countryside was beautiful.

Beautiful cottage

The layout of the cottage is great with use of the garden. Beds were comfortable and the tea, coffee, biscuits and milk very welcoming. Lovely village and excellent location with good pub next door. George Henry woods close by which our dog loved walking in every day. The friendly owners were nearby if needed.

Pantiles Cottage with our friends from Wales

Pantiles Cottage was the perfect 'half-way house' to spend a lovely weekend with our friends from Wales. Everything about the cottage was exactly as we expected, and with a fantastic peaceful location right next door to a great Pub, we could not have been happier. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for the cottage and to Gill the owner for providing a wonderful holiday retreat. We are already planning on a return visit next year.

Cosy & spotless

The property is easy to find just off the A1 ideally placed for visiting Rutland Water, Burghley House, Oakham etc. We arrived around 6pm, the heating was on, the cottage was immaculately clean and had all you needed for a very comfortable stay. Gill the host checked we were Ok and was available if we had any issues, we didnt. The cottage is also next door to the Jackson Stops Inn who do very good food. I thoroughly recommend Pantiles Cottage and would stay again

Perfect for our needs

We picked the cottage for location, accommodation and price. We had a two night break either side of a funeral. Would certainly consider again in happier circumstances. We were unfortunately not able to sample the menu at pub next door due to timing, perhaps next time! Thank you Gill.

Very close to Rutland water. Loads to do at Rutland. Rural location only accessable by car. The owner kindly let us charge the car at the house (we worked out and paid for the electricity used). I was pleased to find there is a freezer in the kitchen. There were lots of kitchen utensils which made cooking easy.

Great house in excellent location

A warm welcome from Gill kicked off our little break. The property is well described in the listing, everything we needed ( and more) was provided. The welcome pack is bursting with ideas for places to visit, walks to do as well as usual information about the house and the areas which are within easy reach. We were super comfortable, spending days out exploring and evenings in relaxing. We leave content and refreshed. Many thanks to Gill, a great host who left us to get on with it but was reassuringly to hand should we need anything...we didn't because she had thought of everything!

Greg and I have lived in Stretton for almost 5 years. It's a small, friendly village with a 12th century church and a well respected and popular Country Inn.
After 40 years of moving around with the RAF, it is a relief to finally be able to settle down and relax!

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

Our house and Cottage were originally a farm which was converted into dwellings in the 1980s.
It's in a prime position, being close to the A1, in between the market towns of Oakam and Stamford, and only 5 miles from Rutland Water.
About 400 meters away is George Henry Wood, a large enclosed area ideal for dog walking, and Stretton Lakes with it's coarse fishing half a mile away.
