Our Kapaa stay

Everything was as advertised. Beach chairs were perfect. Spent a lot of time at Anini Beach (best snorkeling). Someone needs to tell maintenance to ease up on the chlorine in the hot tub. Walk to Lava Lava for sunset drinks. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Good but not great

The property is conveniently located to access either the North shore or South shore beaches and shops. The property is well maintained and clean...the office staff and grounds staff are very friendly.The unit was clean, however the carpet in the living room has several large stains and the kitchen stove works but needs updating. The hallways in the building were very noisy w/ people coming and going slamming doors and kids running up and down the halls being noisy. The road outside the unit is quiet at times but can be a bit noisy at other times.

Plantation Hale was an excellent location!

My 5th time to the island and first time staying at Plantation Hale. Staff was very friendly and grounds were nicely kept. I would recommend to a friend!

Quiet and comfortable

We just arrived from our vacation. We were happy to found this 1 BDR apartment on second floor with decent rental fee. Located close to all amenities and stores, short stroll to the beach you can actually see from the window and balcony. 2 TV handy when each of you want to watch a different show. In the storage you find enough linens and supplies for your stay. As well good leisure equipment for any activity in the water or beach including just brand new beach chairs with umbrella. Nice and quiet, being on second floor. We are frequent travelers to all Hawaiian island and when back to Kauai - definitely will rent again the same condo. Ma halo

Perfect home base for our trip

This place was exactly what we needed! Super close to grocery stores and shops in Kapaa and not too far to the North shore. Clean and well-stocked with a lovely view of the ocean. We had a wonderful time here and highly recommend it!

Good location close to everything ,quiet area with ocean view.

The condo has everything we needed for our stay,the rooms are clean the bedroom has two beds A+ for us . The receptionists are very nice and helpful . The owner is easy to deal with. It was a nice stay at Bruce’s condo in Kapaa Kaui.

Would not stay here again.

The condo had a funky smell upon arrival. That disappeared after a couple of days. Rug in living room had stains. Doors for the hallway cupboards where difficult to keep closed. Closet in the bedroom was difficult to open and close. Kitchen was slightly updated but had no usable cookware. Not many glasses or utensils, either. Refrigerator was clean and nice on the inside but rusted on the outside bottom. We have owned oceanfront rental property. I know what people expected of our condo. This wasn’t it.

Perfection at its finest!

I would highly recommend utilizing Bruce's place. If you plan on wanting to see as much of the island as possible this is the place for you. My husband and I had never been to Kauai before so having a place so centrally located made it really easy to see all sides. The staff and people in the general area were very knowledgeable and friendly :) and with a short walk to the beach I mean... it doesn't get better than that. I'm sure we'll be back!

Great Location, Lovely Owner, Minor Issues

We had a great stay in the Plantation Hale resort. Our room was nice with some lovely updates. Location was perfect for our daily outings. The owner was very helpful whenever I had a question or concern. Some small issues: The pull out mattress was unusable as it sunk in the middle and made it impossible to sleep on. We were missing pillows and the bottom sheet for the pull out bed. And the only additional blanket for the pull out bed was a down comforter which is pretty heavy for Hawaii in April. There was also a very VERY strong odor of a cleaning or aromatic spray upon entering the unit for the first time...we think the cleaning service maybe went a little overboard with their sprays. We had to air out the unit for a couple of hours before it finally dissipated. We made it work though and had a great time!!!

Great location in Kapaa!

Easy to locate & smooth check-in with view & sounds from lanai of the ocean. Comfortable beds, everything was ready and inviting on arrival, clean overall but carpet in living could do with a shampoo as it has a couple of old stains, kitchen is older style except it has newer granite tops but was well supplied for our needs. A book with info & contacts very helpful but we were never able to operate the safe so maybe it could be added for future guests as it would give peace of mind when important documents are safe when out and about. We enjoyed our week at your unit & would definately recommend it to friends & family. Dave & Primrose Ontario Canada

A nice condo

The condo is spacious compared to others we have stayed in. The complex is great! Nice pools hot tub etc. The management is very congenial. The location is perfect. Walk to grocery stores and restaurants and halfway driving to south or north shores. Pretty much everything you need is supplied. A few things need replacing, the blender and some things like the vegetable peeler. But other things are supplied like tp and paper towel and dish soap.The beds are awesome! Very comfortable! The sofa is very uncomfortable because it is a sofa bed there is no support and it sinks in the middle. Big TV! Also I don't know if it was mentioned there is a road right outside the lanai. It is not a busy road but it is there. All in all a great place to stay. We had 10 days in a row of rain overcast cloud , no blue sky or sun so we won't be returning to Kauai.

Beautiful

Spacious accommodations with some nice upgrades. Very clean. The location was perfect - easy access to shops and walking distance to the beach, ocean view right outside our window. The pool and hot tub were right outside the building which was so convenient. It was just right - we would definitely stay here again!

Home away treat

Loved the condo and the property amenities. The large balcony is a great place to relax before heading off for a day of discovery. Carpet could use a bit of a cleaning and the kitchen sink a plug for dish washing. Otherwise very comfortable and clean. It's unfortunate a resort will someday be built right between Plantation Hale and the ocean ruining that beautiful view.

Great location and price!

Perfect location for our family. Easy to get to stores, restaurants, and a great beach for our two year old. Price was great, too. Nothing fancy, but nice and clean. Met our needs perfectly.

Very Homey

I chose Bruce's condo b/c of the affordable price, great reviews and a/c in both the living room and bedroom. I did a lot of research prior to booking and struggled to find all this on The Garden Isle. Aside from some minor things that a handy-person could fix, the place met my needs. Household items were in good supply. Although I never used the oven/stove, the kitchen worked really well for me. There's plenty of good lighting, though main switch connectivity could be improved. It was clean and attractive with two state-of-art TVs. The bed I slept in was wonderful, always making for a good night's sleep. The balcony faces some tropical foliage and a distant view of the ocean; it's not a bad place to sit but hardly scenic. Another plus to Bruce's place is its location to some great restaurants and good shopping, much of it within walking distance. If I'm nitpicking about some things, it's b/c I'm trying to give a full picture of what Bruce has to offer as I see it. For the price, I give Plantation Hale, F-14 an A.

Nice condo close to everything

Nice condo , could use some updates like new couch and carpet, the shower curtain was kinda gross. But all in all a nice place to stay with very friendly people! We would definitely stay again.

Great location, worked out perfectly for our family of 4.

This was our first visit to Kauai & we would stay in the condo again. It's a good location to visit various parts of the island & is located within walking distance to a shopping center & Longs Drug Store. The condo is on the 2nd floor, has air conditioner & has an ocean view (there is a wall on the other side of the street the partially blocks the view of the shore but you can see trees & the water). It's stocked w/ basic cooking pots & pans.You may want to bring spices in little bags if you plan to cook. Our son slept on the sleeper sofa & had no complaints. We stayed in June 2017 & previous occupants had left 2 beach chairs & 2 boogieboards. You may want to see what is available in the closets before you buy anything. Since this is a private condo there is no maid service during the stay but we were fine with that. Bruce responded quickly to a question I emailed him. Overall we were happy with the condo.

I have been visiting Hawaii since 1984 and decided to make my family's dream of living in the islands a bit closer to reality by purchasing property here. For now, we still live most of the year in Maryland near Washington, D.C., but we want to share our vacation home in paradise with you.

The spectacular north and south shores of Kauai are equal distant from the resort meaning you will be able to cut hours off your driving time from one attraction to another.

Our family is happy to recommend our own favorites. I also recommend reading the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook before your departure for a comprehensive list of activities from ATV rides to bird watching! Going to beaches right out of movie scenes and hiking magnificent mountain trails with waterfalls are among our standard activities but there is almost every activity you can imagine.
