Die Ferienwohnung in Thimblewynd wurde als eine der "besten in Schottland mit Whirlpool" (The Scotsman Newspaper) bezeichnet.

Das 1860 geborene Thimblewynd ist ein Cottage aus der C-Liste im historischen Dorf Dunning in Perthshire. Thimblewynd hat sich zu einem romantischen Luxus-Refugium mit vielen Vorteilen entwickelt.

Abgeschiedene Whirlpool Erfahrung? Ja. Holzbrenner? Ja. Gastropub an der Ecke? Ja. Dorfladen am Ende der Straße? Ja das auch.

Wir sind froh, Thimblewynd in unserem Leben zu haben und freuen uns, es mit Ihnen zu teilen.

Es ist ein Ort, der sich einfach richtig anfühlt, und es wurden große Investitionen getätigt, um sicherzustellen, dass ein Paar alles hat, was es braucht, um eine besondere Zeit zusammen zu verbringen (Whirlpool, Kaminfeuer, Smart-TV, WLAN, Plattenspieler, Brettspiele ...).

Bewertungen zeigen, dass die Gäste, während sie ein echtes Gefühl der Abgeschiedenheit genießen und von allem Abstand nehmen, auch alle Annehmlichkeiten unserer dörflichen Lage genießen. Der örtliche Laden ist unglaublich gut gefüllt und perfekt gelegen, falls Sie vergessen haben, ein alltägliches (oder romantisches) Muss mitzubringen.

Was besonders einzigartig ist, ist unser abgeschiedener ummauerter Garten. Bei Sonnenschein können Sie die Hängematte und den Grill genießen. Wir alle in Schottland wissen, dass Sie das Wetter nicht garantieren können. Deshalb haben wir überdachte Bereiche eingerichtet, damit Sie den Raum auf jeden Fall genießen können. Der Whirlpool bleibt unbedeckt, damit Sie gemeinsam die Sterne betrachten können. Es ist ziemlich speziell.

Im Inneren geht es weiterhin um Luxus und Zusammensein. Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet. Der Wohnraum ist gemütlich und voller Dinge zu tun. Wifi (offensichtlich), Brettspiele, Bücher, ein Schallplattenspieler mit LPs (oder bringen Sie Ihre eigenen mit) und Smart TV (einfach mit Ihrem Netflix- oder Amazon Prime-Konto verbinden). Der Holzbrenner ist immer ein Hit. Im Obergeschoss finden Sie das große Schlafzimmer mit Kingsize-Messingbett, Fensterläden und einer schönen Aussicht. Das eigene Bad ist mit einer Dusche, Handtüchern, Bademänteln und Bio-Badeprodukten ausgestattet.

Dieses Ferienhaus in Perth liegt in ländlicher Umgebung und in den Bergen. Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Maggie Wall's Memorial und Perth Theatre sind genauso interessant wie die Attraktionen der Region, zu denen Rollo Park und Perth Ice Rink zählen. Ebenfalls einen Besuch wert sind diese beiden Highlights: Woodland Park und Phoenix Falconry. Amazing stay, great hottub

Had such an amazing time staying here. The whole house is lovely and very well kept. The outdoor seating area was amazing for relaxing outside even when it rained. Loved the hot tub. Would stay here again!

Perfect Festive Getaway

Working over Christmas we booked this break to get away from all the madness. Just us and the dog. Thimblewynd was just perfect and we loved it. Peaceful and comfy throughout we chilled out in front of thr log burner or in the hot tub, the tv wasn't on once! We eat at the Kirkstyle Inn which was lovely but made ourselves breakfast and snacks in the well equipped kitchen. There was not a single thing we could fault and we loved every minute. Thanks to Maggie for hosting us.

Such a peaceful and lovely break, loved the wood burning stove, the shower was delightful, despite not such good weather we managed to enjoy the lovely secluded garden, even if we nearly turned ourselves into soup in the Dutch tub, think we were a bit enthusiastic with the fire!We had everything we wanted, loved the selection of games and books and only wished we’d booked for longer!

Disapointed

I want to firstly say that this property was as advertised, in a nice village and really pleasant to stay in and did have a hot tub (although it was old and in need of updating, a part of the filter was broken and kept floating about the tub for the 2hrs we spent in it). What let it down for us was that the hot tub stopped working on the first night of our 2 day stay. We had specifically booked Thimblewynd because it advertised a "secluded hot tub" so to have it break on the first night and have no hot tub for the next couple of days was really disappointing. Whilst these things happen, it appeared that the tub was at risk of breaking down after speaking with a source close to the host who came to check it for us on the second day. The host did not contact us after this to acknowledge the tub being broken and almost a week later have still had no contact from her even after going through the site and then directly messaging her. We both came home feeling really deflated and upset after spending around £500 for a break that we ultimately ended up not receiving. I would not recommend Thimblewynd due to the lack of communication from the host after a massive issue which abruptly ended our "secluded hot tub" break. A partial refund would be the correct thing to do here but again, the host has decided to ignore this situation.

Everything you need on your doorstep (pub + shop). Hot tub is wonderful. Cottage although modernised still retained it's aged and quaint feel. Great relaxing stay

Fantastic getaway

Thimblewynd is everything you need for that time away to unwind. The village is friendly, shop and pub just a short walk (2 mins). The garden is full secured, which was fantastic as we have 4 Dachshunds that can find the escape route anywhere. Now the hot tub ....... well what can I say, this certainly made the stay well worth the four hours drive.

Lovely cottage

Lovely charming cottage in good location, with country pub a few steps away and great beer garden. People in the area very welcoming. Cottage was very clean and check in straightforward and helpful. Lovely big bedroom and great en-suite. Garden was secure as advertised which was great for our dog but if I am being picky the garden was a bit tired looking which impacted on the time we wanted to spend in the garden. Hot tub in the garden was fab though.

Relaxing stay

A wonderful week in Dunning. Thimblewynd is a cosy cottage ideal and exactly what we were looking for. The cottage had everything we needed. Dunning is a beautiful location and ideal for long walks with the dog. Great pub at the end of thstreet and a jandy well stocked show. People very friendly and the host attended to any queries we had promptly. The garden and hot tub area could do with a.little TLC as it needs a little work which would improve the lovely private garden.

Amazing wee cottage

When booking this as a surprise trip for my and my girlfriends anniversary and saw it was reviewed as the best in Scotland and it definitely lived up to that name. We loved everything from the monopoly to the garden and the hot tub! What a great trip we had!

Lovely cosy wee cottage

Absolutely loved our few days away here! It was so nice to have so much needed time away and this cosy cottage was perfect! We really enjoyed the hot tub and garden and the record player and loved that we could sign in on the TV to our netflix! Bed super comfy and area fab! Maggie was excellent answering any questions before we went, provided us her number and aswell as helpful directions! Definitely be back! Cassie and James

Perfect mini-moon

My new husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Thimblewynd. The property was immaculately clean and had absolutely everything we needed. We took full advantage of the excellent garden space and the hot tub. We were really impressed with the local amenities and proximity to pub and restaurant. We couldn't recommend this enough, definitely the place to choose if you fancy a change in pace.

Perfect weekend break

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this characterful cottage with its quirky garden. Despite it being November we utilised all the thoughtful touches including the comfy hammock, enjoying the fairy lights and seclusion. The hot tub was fantastic and Dunning itself was great for dog walks and a really friendly gastro-pub. The cottage was very comfortable and warm with everything we could possibly need. Thank you for all the lovely personal touches.

Perfect break

Cottage was just perfect, everything you need carefully provided, luxury touches like fleecy blankets and Prosecco in fridge. Location ideal, we walked (2 mins) to the Kirkstyle Inn for lovely food We had a beautiful time and only wished could have stayed longer.

Great Location, if you want a quiet stay. Perth is 9 miles by bus or car.

The property is as advertised. If you like your music there is a retro record player clips on side speaker in front with some vinyl provided. The property is very rustic with really good touches. The bathroom looks like it was just finished very high spec, kitchen as well. Now the hot tub, ticks the boxes, excellent. There are towels provided for using the hot tub, we took our own. The local pub is The Kirkstyle Inn, the food is great (try the fish tea). Down by the golf course is the Tee Room. They do afternoon tea bookings only or you can just turn up for tea/coffee soup, sandwiches and other foods. We used the property as a base to travel around the highlands . But the property is a great place to just relax and chill.

The Thimblewynd Story.

Thimblewynd was created by Maggie and Adam as a space to relax and get away from it all. A space for a couple to be together.

As busy parents they didn't always fancy the formality of a hotel and found the average 'minimum 3 night stay policy' with a holiday-let too constraining (who has a babysitter that generous?)

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

The real magic of the place hasn't just been what has been added to Thimblewynd to get it right on the inside. It is also about what is to be found in Dunning itself. Step outside and you are moments away from beautiful walks, wild swimming, fields and forests full of nature (Thimblewynd even has a returning housemartin family that lives in the adjoining vennel).

The local pub on the corner (The Kirkstyle) is warm, inviting, does amazing food and live music. Another pub close by has regular open night jamming sessions.

And when you return at the end of an evening, find yourself stargazing from the hot tub, with a log fire waiting in the living room you'll probably think it's been time well spent.

And that should be the end of the story...

But it's not, in the morning when you wake, after a luxurious drench shower and perhaps another dip in the hot tub what could be better than the best all day breakfast waiting for you at the local golf club.

This, however, is just one story. Each guest at Thimblewynd will create their own....
