Ein neues Angebot für das Frühjahr 2017 - Eingebettet im Herzen des beliebten hübschen Dorfes Askrigg (oder besser gesagt „Darrowby“ für alle, die sich an alle großen und kleinen Kreaturen erinnern), in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße mit Blick auf die St. Oswalds-Kirche, unsere entzückende Stadt Das Cottage aus den 1750er Jahren ist voller Charme, Charakter, bietet Platz für 4 Personen und bietet alles, was Sie für Ihren Urlaub in Yorkshire Dales benötigen. Nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag in den Dales gibt es wirklich keinen besseren Ort, um nach Hause zu kommen und sich dort niederzulassen. Mit einem wundervollen Village Deli, einem praktischen Dorfladen und 3 großartigen Pubs, die alle in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen sind, ist dies wirklich eine großartige Flucht vor allem.

Mit einer 2017 installierten Zentralheizung, einer neuen Küche und einem neuen Bad bietet unser wunderschönes Cottage Platz für bis zu 4 Personen und umfasst Folgendes:

Eingangshalle: mit Platz zum Aufhängen für Mäntel.

Wohn- / Esszimmer: Mit viel Charakter, originalen Holzbalkendecken und -balken vom Boden bis zur Decke, originalen Steinregalen und Schränken, Holzofen, viel Platz zum Aufhängen von Mänteln, Hüten, Stiefeln und Gummistiefeln, Smart-TV mit DVB-T, NetFlix Abonnement, DVD-Player, Soundbar mit Subwoofer und Bluetooth-Lautsprecher, bequemen Sofas und Esstisch für 4 Personen.

Küche: Neu im Jahr 2017 ausgestattet unsere voll ausgestattete Küche verfügt über einen elektrischen Backofen und Ceranfeld, Mikrowelle, Waschmaschine / Trockner und Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach.

Badezimmer: Im Jahr 2017 renoviert mit Badewanne, separater Duschkabine mit neuer Mira-Dusche mit regulierbarer Durchflussmenge, Warmwasserbereitung und Handwaschbecken.

Bettwäsche und Handtücher werden gestellt und sind in unseren Preisen enthalten.

Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Decken aufgrund des Alters und des Charakters unseres Cottages niedrig sind.

Draußen

Auf der Rückseite des Grundstücks befindet sich ein gemeinsamer Hofbereich. An der Vorderseite befinden sich Sitzbänke (ideal für Leute, die auf dem Weg zu den Wasserfällen gerne Einheimische und Urlauber beobachten oder mit ihnen sprechen). NB Im The Roost gibt es sehr wenig Platz im Freien. Wir sind ein Stadthaus im Zentrum von Askrigg und haben keinen Garten.

Wie bei den meisten Hotels in Askrigg gibt es am The Roost keine ausgewiesenen Parkplätze. Kostenlose Parkplätze stehen im gesamten Dorf zur Verfügung.

Wir bedauern, dass wir keine Haustiere akzeptieren können.

Cosy cottage in a fantastic location

Great little cottage it was the perfect size for the two of us to see in the New Year. Spotlessly clean, lovely log burner, kitchen with all the things you need, just a short walk to the village pubs, shop and fabulous deli. The bed was really comfortable, fabulous quality bedding and the shower in the bathroom was amazing. This cosy cottage is positioned perfectly for short walks and longer hikes and everyone you meet is really friendly. No issues with finding somewhere to park our car on a very busy period in the village as everyone was courteous and considerate and we were lucky enough to be outside the cottage a few times. If you’re thinking of a break in Askrigg we would really recommend The Roost.

Lovely cottage

Had a great time here for just 3 nights and explored the local area and pubs. Property has everything you want. Great beds and bedding, very warm and cosy. And Netflix was a handy addition. WiFi very good too. Would definitely recommend.

A cozy, quiet retreat

The Roost is a very comfortable and well-situated base for a visit to Wensleydale. Being a little off the beaten track gives the Roost and Askrigg an authentic village feel and yet there are many walks right on the doorstep and other centres are easily accessible using the Little White Bus service. Everything in the Roost is of very high quality and thoughtful instructions make it easy to acquaint yourself with the amenities and area. Please do try to patronise the local shops (including the craft co-op Heather &Grouse) and pubs (check hours and make reservations) - you won’t be disappointed and their survival is important to maintain the authentic character of Askrigg village. I loved my time there and was sorry to leave. Thank you Ruth and Stu! PS One word of caution: someone who is very tall will need to keep their wits about them at The Roost.

Happy and comfortable. Good location. Kings Head is a good pub meal near by. Best avoid the White Rose. Good walks around and close to Hawes if needed. The Little White Bus sservice was handy.

Excellent!

What a lovely little cottage, it was perfect for us and Askrigg was great. The property was super clean and had everything we needed. The folder of print out of the local walks was a great touch and appreciated by us. The only improvement would have been to received a welcome pack with some basics like tea, coffee, milk and maybe a few breakfast provisions, it's quite unusual for this not to be provided but luckily we arrived before the village shop closed so it was not a problem. We would return if we wished to stay in Askrigg again and highly recommend The Roost!

The Roost, Happy time there

Lovely comfortable cottage especially the bedrooms. Really liked the welcome basket of food, thank you . So many cooking utensils, in fact so easy to cook. We even used the picnic things and cooler bag. The white bathroom towels were so nice to use. I will come again. Thank you so much, all very cosy and I did smile at listening to the kitchen clock 🦉🦉🦉

Perfect, cosy cottage

Extremely well-appointed cottage in a beautiful village in stunning Wensleydale. We felt spoilt by the luxurious bedrooms and loved cosy evenings by the fire. Children’s play park just over the road and down an alley was perfect for our 2 children aged 7 and 9. So much to do in area. We hope to return!

Wonderful!

We were three friends travelling together and found the Roost to be perfect for us. Spotlessly clean and well equipped it immediately felt like home after our easy check in. Wifi was excellent and parking never a problem. And the beds were VERY comfortable! A very enjoyable stay.

Sehr schön, idyllisch, liebevoll eingerichtet, sauber.

Das Cottage ist wunderschön. Alles sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber und ordentlich. Richtig zum wohlfühlen. Von der Küche bis zum Bad war alles vorhanden was man brauchte, sogar Informationen und Wanderkarten für die Umgebung. Einziger Nachteil: die Deckenhöhe; das Cottage ist sehr niedrig und große Menschen (ab ca. 185 cm) müssen ständig den Kopf einziehen (Türrahmen und Deckenbalken).

Lovely homely cottage

Cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we needed for our stay. Great location with lovely walks without needing to get into the car but also great for exploring further afield. Good also that it's within walking distance of couple of good eating places and great tearoom. We had problem with hot water one day rang Ruth owner who rectified it straight away. Lovely welcome pack on arrival. Would definately book again if we return to this area.

Zu Gast bei Ruth and Stuart

Married since 2001 we were lucky enough to become custodians of this wonderful cottage in October 2016. Having been visiting the area for a long time, with family owning properties in the nearby village of Redmire, buying The Roost just felt right. Stuart is an ex-soldier, now working in software, and Ruth runs her own virtual business, so with both working in the world of technology it became increasingly important to escape the hectic pace of working life and just sit back from time to time, to re-charge and re-discover what it's all about. There are few places better to do that than the Yorkshire Dales and the opportunity of having our own little part of that was a dream come true. We have tried to make The Roost as comfortable as possible and want our guests to be able to unwind and recharge the same as us - we all deserve great holidays!

Completely refurbished in 2017 and with the installation of central heating our wonderful cottage boasts a wealth of original features combined with all the modern comforts of home so you really do have the best of both worlds. Set in the heart of peaceful Askrigg surrounded by the Yorkshire Dales National Park its the ideal base for exploring, or just for relaxing and taking time out.

There are very few straight edges in our wonderful 18th Century Cottage, with over 2 ft thick walls and exposed beams throughout, The Roost is everything you would expect a cottage from 1750 to be with the added bonus of all the comforts and luxuries of home. You really feel like you are staying in a piece of history which is much loved and cared for and will be for years to come.
