Excellent place

Great property, amazing hosts, great location. Just a small note that there are no towels provided for inside the house. Very well equipped kitchen. We would definitely go back.

Gorgeous cottage, very well equipped. Great location; 5 mins to several beautiful beaches. We would definitely stay here again. We didn’t realise bath towels weren’t included but the owners were lovely and brought us some to help us out

Lovely cottage, just a little bit isolated

Lovely cottage, and the vicinity to beaches is great (8-10 mins in any direction). Only criticism is that other than a short drive to the small town of St Merryn, shops/facilities are 10+ min drive away

Perfect Stay

We had an excellent holiday. The location is perfect to enjoy and explore the ‘seven bays’ and surrounding areas. The property itself was fabulous and the owners went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. It can be quite tricky to find good dog friendly accommodation and I just wish we had come across these cottages years ago! We will definitely be coming back if they will have us! A massive thank you for a wonderful stay!

Another great stay

This is the third time we have stayed at Mallard. It is the perfect location for a week in Cornwall, very close to the beautiful beaches of Porthcothan, Constantine, Trevone etc. and to Padstow for a day trip. Communication with owners was excellent, even being offered early check in when previous people departed early. A great week.

Hidden gem

Wonderful cottage so well equipped and really comfortable ,lovely decor.Caroline and Paul our hosts made us feel very welcome and were most helpful . Very secure garden area ,great for our dog and a relief to us Beautifully peaceful Well organised notice board with lots of useful local information on places to eat etc Good location less than 5mins by car into St Merryn and 10 mins to the beach Access a bit tricky along single track road but okay with caution We had a great holiday and will definitely return Thank you Paul and Caroline

What a hreat place to atay and great hoats

From start to finish nothjng was too much trouble for the hosts. The accomodation was ideal for us and had everything we needed. It was spotless. On the last day one of our group was l overnight and they even allowed them to stop later than the checkout time. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

Nice, cosy and clean

The cottage was lovely and very well kitted out. In fact, we could not have thought of anything that was missing!!! Had a very relaxing time. Location is perfect and very close to Padstow. Shame the weather was the only thing that was not perfect but what would one expect in late October!!!

Pretty Cottage

The cottage was very nice, well equipped although being only 5 feet tall I couldn't reach to shut the kitchen window or reach the top shelf of the cupboards. I had to stand on a dining chair - not something I like to do. A small fold-up stool would be very useful. Very narrow lane to the property so if you meet another car one of you has to reverse and it could be a long reverse - happened to me a couple of times.

Lovely relaxed experience

We had a lovely stay at Mallard cottage. The enclosed garden was fabulous for our 2 dogs. The accommodation was great with everything we needed and the beds were super comfortable. If there was one little niggle it was the sofas are a little past their best and leaning against the arms was uncomfortable as you feel the wooden structure. There were no cushions due to COVID but I guess this would have alleviated the problem. All in all highly recommended.

Quiet, peaceful practical cottage

Lovely and well equipped dog friendly cottage near to Padstow and the other Bays. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there (so did our Labrador dog Poppy). Will definitely consider staying there again (hopefully next year).

Our Cornwall home from home

We’ve stayed in the Rosken farm cottages every year for the last 5 yrs and we hope to continue to come back year after year. Spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The property has plenty of space for the family and the dog, the garden space is also excellent and we used it often for bar b Qing and sunbathing, The location gives us perfect access to all of the 7 bays area which we love too.

The layout of Mallard cottage suited us well

One toddler and two dogs could have been havoc but the layout of the cottage allowed us to put a child gate where appropriate which led to a more controllable living space

Cosy Clean and Peaceful

Thank you for a wonderful stay in Mallard Cottage. Perfect for our family of 5 and a great enclosed garden for our dogs. Mattresses were super comfy. Very well equipped kitchen. Washing machine and dryer always good. We explored a different beach every day and easy access to Padstow and shops. Neither the rain or COVID got in the way of a great week in Cornwall!!

We rented Mallard Cottage while our friends and family rented 3 of the other properties on the same site. Paul and Caroline were helpful and the cottage was as expected; the garden, although petite was a tiny bit bigger than expected and very dog secure! It was the perfect location for our visit; convenient to the beaches yet off the beaten track and away from the masses.

Fantastic cottage

Located for easy access to beautiful beaches. Car needed to local shop and restaurants and pubs. Peaceful and relaxing on the farm. Excellent standard of cleanliness and very well equipped. Didn’t see the owners but didn’t need them for anything. Would recommend and would return.

Perfect base for beach holiday

This is our second time staying at this property. It is perfectly located for enjoying the local beaches like Trevone, Constantine, Porthcothan; also for visiting Padstow. The property is on a farm which is so quiet, especially at night time which is lovely after a busy day. My son was also given a ride on a tractor which made his week! Very well equipped holiday home. Clean and tidy. Lots of information of local attractions. Only very minor negative is no BBQ which would be nice on a summer holiday.

Great accomodation in ideal location

Lovely cottage located on farm property so very quiet, with spacious bedrooms, nice enclosed garden for our dog and a very well equipped kitchen (just a few sharper knives would have been good.) The owners were great, excellent information pack and a visit from the owner on day 1 giving us a walk through on local area which was most helpful. St Merryn itself is a nice little village with good pubs, an excellent chippy and well equipped albeit small general store. Great beaches within 10-15 minutes. Have already recomended the property to friends and family.
