This year was our second visit to Costa Rica and as always we thoroughly enjoyed the natural beauty and charm of the country. To explain our visit I have written as if to friends or others considering renting your home for their vacation, we loved it, as I am sure others will also.
This time we stayed with our family in the Santa Teresa area just past Malpais, in a unique, beautifully built new home, all wood and glass and open air. Even the wooden furniture inside and out has been hand built. Coming into the gated property you enter your own private world. Up above the beach with magnificent views.
Literally living in the Jungle, with vistas of the beach to check out the waves for surfing, an inviting, cool, infinity pool and decks and areas in different places to relax and enjoy either the sun or the breeze was truly delightful.
Our three grandchildren and their friends from the beach enjoyed several different sleeping areas, from unique bedrooms to an elevated outdoor sleeping deck, which made their stay very special for them and with the infinity pool right there as part of the house, you could not ask for more.
Our 'Grandparents' sleeping quarters were delightful, joined by decking, but just away from the main living area with our own private little deck and beautiful large bathroom area, made our stay even more pleasurable.
The huge upper floor, king size 'Master Bedroom' with ensuite that our son and daughter-in-law stayed in (that they let us use one night to experience) was beyond beautiful. It looks out over the deck area to the beach vista and with windows that folded out and opened up all around, along with large fans made this space very very special.
The Santa Teresa beach is magnificent. Perfect for surfing of course and we loved the ride on the supplied quads each evening, to catch the sunsets from right on the beach. Great restaurants, and so close to other areas for interesting day trips.
We have great memories of preparing meals in the modern fully equipped kitchen that has doors and windows that fold up and open to the outdoor living/dining areas, and sharing together, meals, coffee and evening drinks, literally in the jungle with Costa Rican wildlife in sight.
Staying in this beautiful home made our visit to Costa Rica just that much more delightful and we hope to use this home again in the future.
