Herrliches Stadthaus mit 3 Schlafzimmern, 3 ensuites plus Sofabett in der kleineren Lounge. Obwohl es ein altes Haus ist, wurde es wunderbar modernisiert und verfügt über eine gut ausgestattete Küche, einen schönen Essbereich, eine große zentrale Lounge und eine herrliche, sonnige Dachterrasse mit herrlichem Ausblick - ideal für ein gemütliches Frühstück, Sonnenbaden oder Entspannen mit Wein und Grill wenn die Sonne über dem Canigou untergeht. Direkt im historischen Zentrum gelegen, sind alle Einrichtungen der Stadt nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt! In den wärmeren Monaten bieten die hohen, belaubten Platanen einen willkommenen Schatten für die Open-Air-Cafés, Bars und Restaurants - die an einem warmen Sommertag einladen - und die Museen, Kunstgalerien, Bäckereien und Konditoreien. Kein Wunder, dass so viele berühmte Künstler, darunter auch Picasso, im Dorf und seiner Umgebung kamen und blieben und malten. Die Straßen werden für eine Reihe von Festen und Veranstaltungen zum Leben erweckt, angefangen vom Kirschenfest im Mai, dem Stiertreiben im Juli bis hin zu lokaler Musik und Sardanes oder gemeinsamen Tänzen.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la maison de Marie-Louise, agréable, spacieuse, bien équipée et bien située. Céret est une ville charmante et vivante entre mer et montagne, art et patrimoine. Nous recommandons ce logement sans hésitation.

Perfect house for a stay in Céret

We loved staying in this house for eight days in late July. The house is located in the heart of the town, on the boulevard with the Saturday marché and the plane trees that make Céret so attractive (among other things.) It is a classic, large maison de village whose renovation did not take away any of the charm such houses have. It is perfect for a larger group with three separate bedroom/bathroom suites. The house is very well equipped and feels much more like a comfortable family home than a sparse vacation rental. The rooftop terrasse is awesome, we used it everyday; the large umbrella makes it a pleasant place to be even on the sunniest/hottest days. We disagree with some of other the comments regarding the living room and bedroom on the ground floor: given the traditional layout of a maison de village, these rooms are very, very nice. Overall, we highly recommend this house, especially if you want to experience Céret in a house that is representative of the town's charm but that also includes all the modern amenities one wishes to have.

Great rooftop terrace, living spaces need updating

The location is great, though there’s a lot of (noisy) car traffic. The living room is very dark, has peeling paint and uncomfortable furniture. The two upstairs bedrooms are clean and bright; the downstairs one is like a dungeon. The rooftop terrace is the best part of the rental; you need to be comfortable with steep stairs to get to it. Communication with the owner was excellent.

Perfect location

We spent 4 weeks in this property. Perfect location in the center of lovely Ceret. Lots of hot water, nice bathrooms, well supplied kitchen, spacious bedrooms (2 of them). Responsive owners and local property manager. Considerations for other renters: lots of steep stairs, 3rd (small, dark) bedroom is 2 floors below other bedrooms. Did I already say perfect location?

We really enjoyed staying at number 7 - good range of equipment and comfortable furniture, great views and good to be close to all amenities in town. We would suggest 2 things however - that the bed in the main bedroom is looked at - as it is very noisy and that a non slip mat is put in the shower.

Comfortable house in a charming town

Everything about it works well! Efficiently laid-out kitchen overlooking the lively street. Spacious bedrooms and en-suite baths. The location is ideal, the house is equipped with all you need for a short or long stay. We loved pretending we lived there.

Beautiful Ceret

A lovely townhouse in the heart of a lovely town, it had everything we needed for an amazing two weeks. Everything was clean and tidy, the kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of room for us and our 4 children. There was plenty of local information in the house for things to see and do, we could have easily spent another couple of weeks exploring this interesting and historical part of France. With the market outside the front door on Saturdays, bakeries/shops/bars/restaurants within a minute's walk it was a perfect base for day trips to the beach, castles and even Barcelona. Loved it.

Fantastic location and appreciated A/C and other modern conveniences

The location was on the most beautiful and convenient street in Ceret. The apartment was very comfortable and renovated beautifully. Extra touches like an Apple TV and air conditioning were really appreciated. The owner was very responsive to all our queries. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Ceret.

Charming house in a charming town! Comfortable, well equipped, great location.

We really enjoyed staying here, walking to the nearby bakeries each morning, exploring the town and surrounding area. The roof top deck gives some nice outdoor private space. Very well outfitted for a comfortable stay - I highly recommend it!

Lovely house in centre of the town

This is a great house for couples or families with older children. Superbly equipped and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the roof terrace and had many of our meals outside enjoying great views to the front and rear. The road itself is so pretty, lined with stunning plane trees. Parking is plentiful and free, and all within a short walk from the house. Unfortunately, we missed the Saturday market, but heard great things about it. The town centre is within easy walking distance with many good restaurants. The coast and Spanish border are all easily accessible too.

Wonderful house in a wonderful town!

This house has a terrific location in the heart of town-easily walkable to many stores and restaurants. Free parking in nearby outdoor areas is a bonus. The kitchen/dining area is large, inviting those doing the cooking to be part of the action. A nice, comfortable lounge/tv area off the kitchen is very cosy too. Kitchen is well-equipped with lots of dishes and glassware and cooking items. Loved the 2 main bedrooms-very comfortable beds and lovely decor-both with their own bathrooms with showers, so plenty of privacy. A third sleeping area with a bed and a pull out couch would be fine for overflow kids/guests. We didn't get to use the 3rd floor terrace as the weather was a bit chilly, but it looked very nice for warm evenings-great space and table/chairs and bbq-really appealing for summer vacationers-lovely views of treetops and town homes. All in all, I have no hesitation recommending this lovely home for 2 couples (with or without kids!) Ceret is well-located for lots of day trips-we did Gerona, Figueras, Besalu and Collioure. Sadly, we had to leave Saturday morning, just as the market was setting up outside our doorstep. But we shall return!

wonderful house in a perfect position

We have just spent 3 amazing weeks in this wonderful house. Chez Beaumont has 3 en suite double bedrooms (one small) with a high degree of privacy. Other guests/children could be accommodated with a lower level of privacy, but still very comfortable. The roof terrace is a sun trap with marvelous views, the sail provided much needed and welcome shade from the midday sun. By contrast the dining room and lounge are cool and shaded. The air conditioning is very effective and a blessing in mid summer. We found the beds, furniture and utilities very comfortable and user friendly. We would have kept the utility room as a garage, because parking in Ceret can be a bit random. But in fairness, during 3 weeks in July/August, we never needed to park further than the upper town car park, a 5 minute walk away. Ceret is our favorite French town, so far. It is beautifully decorated and proudly Catalan. The local boulangeries, charcuteries and caves sell delicious food and wine. The open air cafes and restaurants are wonderful places to spend time. As the many posters in shop windows will remind you, Ceret has a very strong culture of Arts, Crafts and Music. There was excellent live music in the streets outside the bars nearly every night. You step outside the front door straight into the Saturday market, which is extensive, lively and entertaining. We can highly recommend the 'poulet roti citronelle' from the roast chicken stall for an instant Saturday dinner. We only discovered on this visit that Ceret has it's own rugby team who were celebrating their centenary! You could spend a happy 2 weeks in Ceret alone, with a hike to the waterfall, and a short drive or strenuous walk to the Hermitage of St Ferreol, and the huge Brocante. But the fact is there are so many nice places nearby. Le Racou beach, Collioure and the Gorges de Fou, to name a few. As you have gathered, we had a wonderful holiday, and are already thinking of the return trip.

What a wonderful time we enjoyed in this lovely town house in Ceret. We were there during one of the hottest weeks of the year with the temperature in the mid 30's. We really appreciated the air conditioning in all of the rooms which ensured a good night's sleep and provided a cool haven when we wanted to escape the heat. The owners have made every effort to provide fittings of quality and have created a beautiful, elegant interior with quality furnishings, bed linen and towels and a very well equipped kitchen. The house is located on a very quiet street in the heart of Ceret so perfect for participating in local life without needing to travel anywhere. We would definitely rent again.

We are an Australian couple with family and children living in Europe and have been renting holiday houses in France and Italy every summer for the past few years so we can meet up with our family. This year Ceret was our meet-up place and we all just fell in love with the town and the area.
So we ended up buying our own house which we could all enjoy and which we could share with others - much as we do our other holiday home, Tanglewood, in Margaret River in Western Australia.
