Amazing stay at Amalia’s house

We had an amazing week at Amalia’s house. Maria the host was very friendly and helpful with local knowledge and recommendations. We found the house perfectly located for a very peaceful holiday and well equipped with everything needed. We can’t wait to go back.

Fabulous

Maria and her mother are great hosts, they cleaned often and always asked before doing so, they gave us lots of useful local info and also some amazing and hearty home cooked food! The location is perfect for reaching what we consider to be the best beaches on the island and the port of Fiskardo, all only 15 mins away by car. The villa itself is roomy even with a family of four, and the pool is lovely and means there’s never any great hurry to leave the property! Maria also organised a snorkelling trip by boat for us over to the island of Ithaca and we swam with turtles! A lovely and helpful host and a great place to stay. Would definitely book again.

Lovely clean villa, everything you could need is there for you even an umbrella for the beach. Maria the host is brilliant, she was there to welcome us and gave us lots of information regarding the island. She was so helpful and happy to book tavernas and taxis when needed. Maria’s lovely mum also left us some fantastic homemade treats including Kefalonia pie and baklava. Would highly recommend booking this villa to experience the kind and helpful nature of the host and her family Thank you again Maria we had a lovely holiday❤️❤️❤️❤️

Unbeatable stay!!!

Amalia’s house offers you everything you need to discover the north of beautiful Kefalonia. Situated in a peaceful area, a short drive from beautiful beaches, Magganos village which offers fantastic restaurants and supermarkets and bustling Fiscardo. But the real charm of staying here, is your host- Maria. We have been renting Villas for over 15 years and never has an owner been so attentive and helpful. Our stay wouldn’t have been nearly as magical without Maria’s recommendations and booking our excursions! And her mum’s cooking!!! The villa, is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Don’t hesitate to book this gem.

Wonderful villa, fabulous holiday

Found the villa without any trouble. All beautifully clean and comfortable with some very welcome groceries on the table and in the fridge. Pool cleaned everyday and a midweek bedding change & clean of the villa too. Lovely and peaceful, just the goats bells ringing every so often. Huge thanks to the lovely Maria who was full of information and recommendations of beaches, restaurants and more, many of which we incorporated into our week and they didn’t disappoint. We would absolutely stay here again.

Holiday in Kefalonia

We stayed at Amalia's house for 10 nights in June. Although at first we had trouble finding the property Maria was soon out to find us and guide us in. The villa is perfect if you want to be away from the madding crowds it is very peaceful. We have stayed in lots of villas but never been looked after so well as we were with Maria, from the amazing welcome pack to the suprise lovely Greek food she left for us on two occasions so very kind of her and her mum and all the knowleged of the area,restaurants and beachs etc that Maria gave us. The villa is spotless and has everthing you need for a relaxing stay the kitchen was well equipped and the linen and beds were changed x 3 times on our ten day stay. You will need a car if you stay at Amalia but the driving is very easy and once you have found your way around the Villa is very easy to find

Peaceful location & the most fantastic host

Maria went out of her way to ensure our stay was perfect. Advice, maps & info all provided in person by the loveliest owner I think we’ve ever had & her tips were spot on! She also organised a taxi for us to the port when we left & drove us herself as well because being a group of 5 we couldn’t fit. And a lovely surprise one day when her mum made us a Greek feast which was superb! The house had everything we needed & the generous welcome pack was a godsend after our flight was delayed. Air con was bliss, pool was great & lots of options to sit in & out of shade. Local village had several great restaurants for eating out, a good little mini market & fruit & veg shop - it’s technically walkable but I’d advise driving! Decent supermarket 10-15 min drive away.

Wonderful villa holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay as a family of five at Maria’s house. The house was well equipped and clean. The pool area was lovely and the pool was a good size for our children (13, 11, 9) and not too deep to cool down overnight. Beach-wise I would recommend Dafnoudi and Kimilia over the larger ones. Both are accessible by driving to a parking spot then walking through the forest (c10 mins) to very quiet coves with great visibility if you enjoy snorkelling. I’d also recommend hiring a little boat from Fiskardo and doing a day sailing around (as your own skipper) to the coves on the east coast and across to Polis in Ithaca. You can book this directly with various places in Fiskardo. Myrtos is over-rated (in my opinion). Jerusalem Beach lovely with sun loungers to rent. Overall, a really wonderful holiday.

Lovely quiet, comfortable country house

We had a wonderful stay at Amalia’s house - it is in a great location for visiting anywhere on the Fiskardo peninsular - and only an hour from the airport. The host Maria and her mother are wonderful - friendly and super helpful. Maria made some wonderful suggestions of trips to go on and helped us book a great boat trip ( at a discount) with her contacts. Her mum even cooked as a meal one night as a gift. Maria’s mum lives next door so on hand if anything is needed. The house is spacious and airy - sitting room comfortable and kitchen well equipped. All the bedrooms have aircon, although the third bedroom is on a mezzanine floor above the sitting room/ kitchen so more difficult to get that room cooled down. The outside area is very attractive and pool lovely ( max 4ft deep) - all very nicely looked after and cleaned for us. There are 2 tables for eating outside in different areas - lovely. Only request is for denser shade over the terrace outside the front door so you can eat under proper shade at lunchtime. The bamboo looks lovely but does let the sun through. We had a fab holiday and visited some wonderful beaches - best trips were the boat trip and the day we caught a water taxi to Fteri beach (water taxi 20 euros return per person) which was fabulous. Will most definitely be back…

Fantastic homely base for exploring the north

Maria’s place was perfect for our family stay. We arrived to a great selection of essentials and basics that meant we could settle in easily. We were well looked after by our host which made our stay feel special. It’s position is rural and very peaceful, but we really didn’t miss a sea view, in fact it just made it more homely. The pool was great and accommodation were as the pictures show. It is a few minutes off the main road to Fiscardo. It was perfect for exploring the north: within 30 mins gorgeous Assos and myrtos beach. Within 15 mins Fiscardo. We didn’t visit a bad beach all within 15 mins: Emplisi had as clear turquoise water as Myrtos. Foki, Agia Jerusalem with great taverna, Alaties (a bit too tiny), all had their own charm. We would heartily recommend anyone exploring the north to choose Amalia’s House. Thank you Maria!

Our stay in the North of the Island

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is the perfect place if you enjoy peace and quiet. The closest supermarket is a 3km walk away so a car is recommended but I enjoyed the walk as the views are lovely. Fiskardo and nearby beaches are all pretty and a short drive away. We would definitely recommend this property for those who prefer to be a short drive away from the busier towns.

Ich kann die Villa Amelia in Kefanlonia-Zambeletta nur empfehlen. Das Haus war sehr sauber und die Vermittlerin Maria war sehr nett und freundlich.Zu unserem Empfang gab es schon einige Köstlichkeiten, wie Wein Kekse und selbstgemachte Marmelade. Auch die Hilfe um das Haus zu finden war sehr zuvorkommend. Danke

1st time family holiday in Greece/Kefalonia

This was our 1st time to Greece/Kefalonia and Maria was very welcoming. From the initial booking through to our departure she was in communication to help and advise us on anything from restaurants to activities and beaches to visit. The property was in a very quiet area in the woodlands with only the sound of the Goats ringing as they graze whilst roaming. The location was just a short drive from the beaches and the local town of Fiscardo which was very pretty. The house was lovely, clean and with a nice sized private pool that we all enjoyed in the morning and late evening. I’m so glad that we chose to stay in the North of the island as it was so peaceful, with some beautiful beaches and scenery. We especially enjoyed visiting Assos and Fiscardo where there were some great restaurants set in a picturesque spot. I would definitely recommend this house and will hopefully come back sometime. La villa è molto grande e la piscina privata è un plus. La posizione è comoda per raggiungere le bellissime spiagge del nord. La proprietaria Maria è gentilissima e molto premurosa. Consiglio assolutamente il soggiorno in questa villa.

Traumhaft

Wir haben 7 großartige Tage auf der Insel verbracht. Super nette Vermieterin. Bei der Ankunft war schon Wein, Wasser ,Butter ,Brot, Milch, Kekse etc. Vorbereitet. Alles top top sauber und gepflegt. Das Haus hat eine tolle Lage, uneinsehbare Terrasse mit großem privaten Pool und Liegestühlen. Sehr ruhig in einer Sackgasse gelegen. Zum nächsten Minimarkt nur ca. 3 Minuten mit dem Auto.. Aufgrund der abgeschieden en Lage ist ein Auto aber zwingend erforderlich. Und hat es wirklich hervorragend gefallen. Sollten wir einmal wieder kommen, gibt es für uns nur eine Adresse. MARIA. Vielen, vielen Dank für die tollen Tage in deinem Haus. Alles war bestens. Wir hätten es nicht besser treffen können.

Peaceful stay near beautiful Fiskardo

Maria and her family were very welcoming and looked after us superbly. There were beautiful garden roses in a vase awaiting us when we arrived, which was a nice detail. The house and garden were very comfortable and well-equipped. With a two week stay we were really able to relax, some days were spent by the pool (in the company of the cat from next door). Other days were taken up by visits to the numerous great beaches in the area, one favourite was the tranquil Kimilia Beach only accessible on foot. There was a great choice of places to eat within a 15 min drive. Highlights were watching the sunsets at the chilled Acqua taverna on Alaties beach and the excellent To Petrino and Picnic restaurants at nearby Andi Pata. The Emelisse hotel in Fiskardo was a stunning setting for a memorable dinner overlooking the infinity pool with views over the sea out to neighbouring islands. All in all a fantastic stay and we hope to return another time.

Perfect place if you want to be a greek!!

Thanks for a perfect stay for our holiday !! We hade 2 weeks - Maria gave us tips about where to eat, go, see, helped us with everything - and we felt like a greek - no other tourists.. that´s what we like! A warm welcome with flowers and some goodies!! The house has everything you need - nothing we were missing - 2 km til nearest supermarked - nice morning walk. We were at the nearest beach Jerusalem a couple og times - with a taverna with homemade greek cuisine! Perfect.! Car is needed if you want to travel around and not just stay at the pool! Hope to come back some time! Thanks again to Maria and her family for all help and a nice vacation! love & hug from Norway
