Obwohl diese charmante Wohnung an das Haupthaus aus dem 14. Jahrhundert angebaut ist, ist sie völlig unabhängig und verfügt über einen eigenen Eingang über einen eigenen Garten. Für Selbstversorger ist der Küchenbereich mit großem Kühlschrank, Gasherd und Mikrowelle bestens ausgestattet. Das Schlafzimmer und das Wohnzimmer sind in erholsamen Farben gehalten und mit antiken Möbeln eingerichtet. Der Kaminofen bietet Wärme für kühle Sommerabende oder kalte Wintertage, die es schön und gemütlich machen.

Das Wohnzimmer verfügt über ein Sofa, das ein antikes Bett ist und auch als Bett für ein Kind oder einen dritten Erwachsenen genutzt werden kann. Obwohl diese Anordnung die Unterkunft ziemlich beengt machen kann, ist es wirklich besser, nur für 2 Personen.
Bitte beachten Sie: Für einen dritten Erwachsenen berechnen wir zusätzlich 60 € pro Woche (plus 15 € für Bettwäsche und Handtücher). Kinder bis 14 Jahre sind kostenlos, plus 15 € für Bettwäsche und Handtücher.
Das Haupthaus, in dem wir auch 2 B & B-Zimmer haben, ist günstig gelegen, so dass Apartmentgäste auf Wunsch privat bleiben können, da die B & B-Gäste unseren eigenen Garten nutzen können. Bitte, absolut NICHTRAUCHER, es gibt einen Rauchmelder.

Wenn Gäste für das Apartment oder das B & B an einem Sonntagabend anreisen, können wir eine Mahlzeit (nur für Vegetarier) für 18 € pro Person plus Wein anbieten.
Ebenso können Gäste, die einige Grundkenntnisse zum Einkaufen benötigen, weil sie zu spät zum Einkaufen ankommen, uns eine Liste geben, damit wir die Dinge kaufen können, die sie benötigen.

Unser Haus liegt in einem ruhigen Weiler inmitten der sanften Hügel und Wälder des Dordogne-Tals. Zu den Aktivitäten in der Umgebung zählen Tennis, Reiten, Golf und Kanufahren. Die nächsten Restaurants in Campsegret, St. Sauveur, Lembras und Queyssac sind 2,5 bis 5 km entfernt. Bergerac (10 Minuten) mit seiner mittelalterlichen Altstadt liegt am Fluss Dordogne und es gibt viele Gourmetrestaurants und Geschäfte, in denen lokale Produkte und regionale Weine verkauft werden. In der Nähe gibt es einen Parksee zum Schwimmen und ein sehr gutes Restaurant auf dem Parkgelände. An manchen Sommerabenden wird Live-Musik geboten. Das Gelände ist so angelegt, dass Sie auch eine flotte Stunde spazieren gehen oder joggen können. Bergeracs Flughafen (15 Minuten) bietet Flüge zu vielen Städten in Großbritannien. Die Gegend hat Wanderern, Radfahrern, Sehenswürdigkeiten und Weinverkostern viel zu bieten. Besuchen Sie malerische mittelalterliche Dörfer, Schlösser und Gärten. Les Eyzies mit seinen prähistorischen Höhlen und Höhlenmalereien liegt eine Autostunde entlang der Dordogne, vorbei an Schlössern und schwindelerregenden Klippendörfern, Obstgärten und Walnussfarmen.

The little apartment was so lovely and cosy. In summer cool but not to cool! The decorations and interieur are beautiful with all the brocante furniture. I loved that. Lizzy and Graham are the sweetest people. With good knowledge of the surroundings and great stories. I had such a great week and hope to come back some times.

Heaven

A lovely stay in this heavenly gite, small but perfectly formed, in the midst of startlingly beautiful countryside. Facilities were perfect, wonderful gardens to front and rear melding into the meadows. Very relaxing stay in a lovely location

Very peaceful holiday. Our first time in rural France was an absolute delight. The apartment had everything that we needed and Liz and Graham were great hosts. To cap it all the weather was superb so we made great use of the terrace and garden to sit in and have breakfast, and also to sit out late at night with a glass of wine. The apartment is very well situated to get around the area, and Liz and Graham were terrific at giving recommendations for just the right places to visit. Merci!

best stay ever

We had a wonderful time here! In this house we only stayed for one week but when we left we said that we would have loved to stay for the whole summer. Perfect interior, lovely atmosphere, wonderful shady garden. Liz and Graham are very helpful and at the same time give you all the privacy you want. We also really appreciated the care they restored the whole house and garden with. Due to the enclosed garden it was also a perfect place to stay with a dog. We are sure we will come back soon. Thank you for being such good hosts!

The Most wonderful stay

I stayed at La Crabouille for two weeks and could have stayed forever! Liz and Graham are the nicest hosts imaginable and go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable with their friendliness and excellent knowledge of the area. They are always there for their guests without being intrusive. The accommodation is exactly as in the pictures, very homely, lovingly decorated in the typical Périgordienne style with many beautiful details. The bed was very comfortable, the large garden for own use, a fully equipped kitchen and waking up each morning to the birds and sun shining into the bedroom was pure bliss. … There are many walking trails, a swimming lake nearby and just a short drive to Bergerac with many restaurants. I can highly recommend La Crabouille and would come back to this beautiful part of the world any time!

Beautiful and very relaxing

This quiet centuries old apartment was the perfect retreat for visiting Bergerac and the surrounding area. This was our first visit to the Dordogne and we were very impressed. There are so many picturesque villages and impressive chateaus to see as well as beautiful gardens and historical sites. The apartment was fantastic and very 'French'. Liz and Graham are such lovely hosts and so very helpful, we were made to feel very welcome. It was everything we wanted it to be and more and would definitely recommend it. Lovely stay in the beautiful Dordogne

Lovely little apartment adjoining owners main house. It is well equipped and very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and well looked after. Lizzie and Graham are so friendly and helpful, she even booked our dog into the local excellent vet for her worming treatment, needed for our return to the Uk. We loved exploring the beautiful Dordogne and the accommodation is well placed to do this. It is in a beautiful small rural hamlet approx a mile from the nearest village, which means it is extremely peaceful, great for a restful break. Unfortunately we were unable to sit out on the pretty terrace or explore the lovely walks surrounding the property due to the Tiger mosquitoes! They are vicious! Be prepared take plenty repellant and cream/medication, if all else fails the chemists are numerous and very helpful! A good recommendation-There is a great restaurant nearby in Queyssac called Le Bistrot du Presbytere serving local delicious food at a reasonable price, make sure to reserve its popular.

The Perfect French Farmhouse Retreat?

You know that feeling when you walk into a property and you know its 'just right'? Well that's the feeling my partner Lynne & I had when we arrived. Those initial feelings, sometimes become tarnished by the little things that aren't quite right. We found none of them, the accommodation was clean, light, cozy, really well equipped and immaculately dressed and decorated. This is truly wonderful self catering accommodation that provides a perfect base to explore the Bergerac area and further afield. The Sunday Market at Isseygeac, about 25-30 mins away is a must do (if you are here on a Sunday) as is a trip to the Chateau at Monbazillac. We did a trip down the Dordogne to Sarlat-la-Caneda and visited the sink hole at Proumeyssac and the gardens at Marqueyssac. The area is quite simply beautiful. So you've got beautifully appointed accommodation, in a glorious part of France, what about the hosts? One word probably sums Graham & Liz up 'lovely' although there are many more descriptive verbs that I could list. Just trust me they will make you feel welcome and ensure you have an amazing stay. So there you have it ... nearly! Poor weather (El Nino year) brought our stay to an earlier stop than we would have hoped. We had no plans where we were going next, sort of 'see when we get there'. Graham recommended Amboise & Blois, about 5 hours North in the Pays de Loire, specifically Clos Luce, the last home of Leonardo Da Vinci. Top recommendations! Clos Luce is one of the most inspiring places I have ever visited. I have 3 regrets: (1) that its taken me nearly four months to finally write this review and let Graham & Liz know just how 'knocked-out' Lynne & I were by our visit to their little bit of heaven on earth; (2) that our stay was too short and, (3) that we aren't there now! In concluding this review, the answer to the question posed in the title is Lynne & I think so. To Graham & Liz, heartfelt thanks for allowing us to fleetingly share the magic space. Zu Gast bei Graham and Liz Sangster

Graham and Liz have been living in the Dordogne for 35 years and therefore speak fluent French. They are now retired from working in the restoration and decoration of châteaux and private houses where as an artist Liz painted frescoes and trompe l’oeil. Liz continues to paint oils and water colours which she exhibits locally and in the uk, she's also published a book of her silly poems and illustrations. Graham is passionate about Citroen cars and uses our 2CV daily. The property is an old fortified farm built by the English during the 100 years war, set in 5 acres of land, in a small hamlet in their village commune, a kilometre away.

We love the French countryside here, and Graham, being particularly keen on cycling, enjoys the off-road opportunities, through the forests and fields. We both enjoy walking our dog too, and there are many 'chemins randonées' to choose from where you can walk for hours without seeing a soul. As an artist the area is ideal for Liz , with so many views to draw and paint , the unique Perigordian architecture setting it apart from the rest of France.

Bergerac Airport: flights go to many parts of the UK , so it's extremely handy for visiting our family and friends. The region is so varied that we can drive in any direction and the landscape changes from forest to vineyards, from rolling hills to orchards, then from river to gorge, even within 10 mins of leaving our home. There are numerous châteaux to visit either for wine-tasting or for their historic interest: Josephine Baker's château with it's art deco rooms, makes a fascinating visit because of its history of being the home she created for her 12 adopted "rainbow" children. ...Château Biron with beautifully restored rooms, also houses 2 galleries for art exhibitions. Biron has spectacular views from the rocky outcrop on which it is built .... Castelnaud, again with beautiful views, has interesting replicas of mediaeval war machines. Weather-permitting, here the clear starlit skies at night are free from light pollution, and therefore good for stargazing, especially in August when the Perseids meteor shower is at it's peak.
