Mountaintop Retreat

Super comfy three bedroom summer house or two bedrooms in winter, with a breathtaking view of the Appalachian and Smokey Mountains. Open loft master bedroom and en-suite full bath, main floor bedroom and full bath, and a ground floor bedroom/playroom and full bath/laundry room. Full kitchen with all the utensils you could possibly need and a wrap around deck to relax and take in the view. Sip your morning coffee and watch as the clouds burn off the valley to reveal the gorgeous view. Listen to the train in the distance as it makes its way around Green Mountain along the Toe River.

Fishing, rafting, kayaking, and hiking opportunities abound. The house is pet friendly!

King bed in master loft, double bed on main, and futon on the ground floor converts to a double bed.
Renovation is on-going. Freshly painted and decorated, please excuse some imperfections as there is still work to be done. Kitchen and bath cabinets have some water damage to finish, but otherwise very functional and attractive.

Relaxation and Spectacular Views
My husband and I got away for a long weekend at this awesome property! Deck and views were AMAZING. They have everything you need for staying at this property. Kitchen well appointed for two people. Closest town/grocery stores are probably a good 20-35 mins away, but the scenery on the way was beautiful. Book this place, you won’t regret it!

Perfect mountain getaway

Invigorating view!
The hosts were readily available for communication. We had a wonderful 2 week stay and spent much time on the deck. We’ve stayed in many rentals, but never had such a well equipped kitchen…..a cook’s delight! The cabin is very comfortable, complete and wonderfully located. We particularly enjoyed trips down the mountain to Burnsville, a small town with a great Ingles grocery, creative shops and good restaurants.

Beautiful Quiet Mountain Getaway
We had the pleasure of staying here last summer, and we were excited to return. The view is beautiful and the area is so quiet and peaceful. The house is well equipped including plenty of dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and appliances for a variety of cooking options. The addition of a window air conditioner upstairs for a rare hot night was great. Expect some curvy mountain roads to get there, but you are still relatively close to a grocery store and about 45 minutes from phenomenal hiking trails at Carver’s Gap. Barri is a great host and very easy to get in touch with. Our stay was just as wonderful as last year.

Almost Missed It.

Great Getaway with amazing views
The house has nice amenities and a wonderful deck with beautiful Mountain views. It’s very comfortable and we loved using the gas log fireplace on the chilly evenings (mornings too). Our stay was quiet and we enjoyed the seclusion (well needed trip away from work). We would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking to get away for some quiet time.

Lovely mountain get away
Our family of 4 enjoyed this mountain house with a great view. The deck is perfect to enjoy looking at the mountains with your morning coffee. The kitchen is well stocked. The living room furniture was very comfortable. There are movies, books and puzzles for a rainy day inside. It’s only a short 20 min drive to town for a day out. We drove about an hour to Roan Mtn state park. There is a rafting company not too far from the house to go in the river. We did not realize this house did not have air conditioning. But even in July the temperature was only in the 80’s and we used the fans provided to blow in cool mountain air in the mornings and evenings. We were comfortable. The house is listed as 3 bedroom in the summer. We chose not to use the downstairs “bedroom” and had our youngest sleep on the couch up stairs. The down stairs room is more of a basement bonus room. The house does allow pets and this might be where people have their pets, it had a dog odor just in this downstairs room, it also might have been from the mountain dampness being greater in this lower level. We do not have dogs in side our home so we may have been more sensitive to this smell. The neighborhood was quiet and the house is not over looking other houses. Over all we very much enjoyed our stay here! The owners were quick to respond to our questions and very friendly.
