Unser See Haus, 3200 Quadratmeter Wohnfläche, hat drei Schlafzimmer im Erdgeschoss und einen offenen Grundriss im zweiten Stock, der 4 Einzelbetten und ein Kingsize-Bett mit einem Vollbad hat. Dies ist ein perfektes Haus für eine Familie mit Teenagern oder einer Gruppe von Männern und / oder Frauen, die all das Angeln, Jagen, Vogelbeobachten usw. genießen möchten, was Old Settlement zu bieten hat. Die Kapelle des Heiligen Geistes ist zu Fuß erreichbar - ein großartiger Ort für einen Rückzugsort. Dieses Haus hat Stufen, ist also nicht rollstuhlgerecht. Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe eines öffentlichen Piers zum Angeln, Schwimmen oder zum Abholen von Angelführern. Wir sind 20 Meilen vom Lake Charles entfernt.

Fine place to stay

Probably the best equipped place we’ve ever stayed at. Hosts checked on us several times via text and when I texted they responded immediately. Very nice home and furnishings. Again very well equipped and very comfortable. The only thing that wasn’t there was a dining table indoors. There was a table for 4 on the front porch that worked well for our group. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay if you want to relax. I give it 5 stars because the site won’t let me give it 10 stars.

Great Lake house

We had 2 families stay and utilized downstairs for one and upstairs for the other. It worked very well. Communication with host was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely House

This house is near our own camp and we are now too many to fit in our house and we enjoy spilling over into this beautiful and very comfortable, well-supplied Big Lake camphouse. It is large and very pretty. The breeze on the front porch is pleasant and relaxing.

Second Year!

This was our second year spending a weekend at this house on Big Lake and it's one of favorite spots. The hospitality and responsiveness of the owners deserves more than 5 stars. The house itself has everything we need, and then some. Plenty of space, including a large patio for relaxing in the lake breeze.

Can’t say enough great things about this property. Great communication with the owner throughout the process. The house is beautiful, spacious, and extremely well stocked with everything you would need. Gorgeous views of the lake. I went there for guys fishing trip and we used a local guide. This location was perfect for it. It was close to where the guides launched from and plenty of space to come back and cook our catch. Do not hesitate to stay here.

PERFECT place for a getaway with friends or family

PERFECT place for a getaway!! We had a guys golf weekend (8 golfers) and stayed at this wonderfully appointed home that met our needs perfectly. This property is comfortable, inviting, and has everything you will need in abundance, and is very clean and spacious. The owners have gone above and beyond to ensure you feel like you're at home while on vacation. The owner is very responsive and accommodating, and is available if there is a question or assistance is needed. You will not be disappointed! The Settlement-Annual Family Easter Event

Everything that we needed, and everything that owner provided, made for a very special Easter for our family. Warm Cookies and cold milk awaited our arrival from owner. Their residence offered all the amenities needed and was set in an spectacular position (facing the water); certainly not a fishing-camp atmosphere. However, we did know several of local guides that put us onto sufficient fish in the immediate body of water to feed (plus some)12 guests. We will definitely book at another time of year; looking forward to a Fall trip when we can invite some close friends in our network (Houston) who would greatly appreciate the owner's offering. Note: small Episcopal church located in walking distance from the owner's location that is available to worship from Easter to Labor Day.

Peaceful Lake House With A Great View!

In one word, this lake house is PERFECT! Big Lake is a favorite local getaway for our family and we couldn’t be more excited that this home is now available for short term rental.. We enjoyed a most memorable stay and Mary couldn’t have been more accommodating. Her family home is even more beautiful than the pictures show. It was exceptionally clean and furnished with every amenity ( condiments, ziplocks/foil, coffee, bandaids etc.) one could ever need. The home has beautiful views from the spacious and well appointed front porch ( where my family spent most of our time) and is located just next door to the public pier. Our experience was absolutely delightful we have already booked our next stay! It is truly a special place and I highly recommend!

Place of Respite

We were in Lake Charles for a family funeral and wanted a place where we could stay together as a family. Mary and Brian's place provided that and so much more. This home gave us a place to relax in beautiful surroundings. We loved it from the time we drove in! A beautiful porch with amazing water views. A woodburning fireplace that we used every night and a few mornings. (You don't get a fireplace with a gorgeous water view very often!) A fully stocked kitchen, including the coffee! Plenty of space for us to play games upstairs or to spread out and have our quiet moments of solitude. Comfy beds. Three full bathrooms. Honestly, we hated to leave! Communication with hosts were quick, efficient and welcoming from the beginning to the end! We would all highly recommend and I hope to find an excuse to book again in the near future!

Louisiana Getaway

This Old Settlement Home was a great getaway for my kids and grandkids. The views were beautiful from the porch and the pier. The home was very comfortable with plenty of space for more than one family. The owners stocked this rental with everything you need for a good time on the water. One of the best homes we have stayed in.

I grew up spending the summer at my parents home at Big Lake. My husband and I built this home behind my parents home in 2003 when we lived in Houston. After spending a lot of weekends at Big Lake, we moved back to Lake Charles in 2005. This home is our special place. There is nothing quite as relaxing as sitting on the porch with a glass of wine overlooking the lake at any time, during any season. It is a magical place.
