Absolute disgrace
My family and I were under a mandatory evacuation order due to hurricane Milton. Upon arrival the house was very warm and filthy. There were multiple stains on every piece of furniture, every air vent was disgusting, the linens and bath towels had a musty smell, the pool had debris in it and the pump was making a loud noise due to the water level of the pool being too low. It was pretty evident the house had not been occupied or cleaned in quite some time. No internet available, even with us explaining we had 3 adults expecting to be working remotely. Not only was the house disgusting but there were multiple safety concerns. A 2x4 piece of wood was placed in the sliding glass door track as the way to secure the door. Southern’s solution was to place a “j hook” lock but a contractor never arrived to install. Balconies/porches and stairs do not have a gate as well as poisonous toads in the backyard and pool filter. They told us all of our concerns would be addressed within 24 hours. The only concern addressed in a timely manner was the AC. A one room/one night stay in a hotel with 7 adults, 7 children and pets at 9:30pm the first night was offered. They could not relocate us until a property manager went to the property. The property manager and maintenance staff arrived the next morning and agreed the house was unsafe and unfit for renting and would be actively looking for another property. However, the manager, Christopher (Destin office) declined us to relocate.
