Enjoyable stay at Garden City Beach
We were elated when we arrived at this beautiful condo right on the ocean with spectacular views. We invited a few of our grandchildren who enjoyed the pier with games for kids, a restaurant, and daily entertainment. Close by, there's Murrell's Inlet with more good restaurants and shopping. The large ocean front decks with a direct staircase down to the beach gave us easy and quick access to the beach for our daily seaside strolls. We felt immediately at home when we were greeted upon our arrival with the complementary bag that included useful information, helpful maps, and necessities. The bedrooms were very nice and well appointed with lots of towels, including beach towels. It was a first rate stay and highly recommended - we’ll definitely be back again!

Love this place!
We had such an amazing stay! When we arrived, the parking and entry were easy. Then when entering the condo it was large and bright, with great natural light. It was clean, well-organized and the owners were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The kitchen had a great new stove and appliances. The location was so unbeatable, it was convenient within walking distance to restaurants, activies at the pier and local shopping, and it was right on the beach! We couldn’t have picked a better location! The condo had an amazing layout for our family. We loved there were 2 levels and each level had its own large balcony. There were beautiful views from two large decks on each level and gave anyone easy access to a balcony with privacy, but the open floor plan made it feel we were still staying together. All the bedrooms had plenty of sheets and towels, for all of us. I would rent it again, and I’ve already recommend it to friends! Five star review we loved it!

No pool, check in code inaccurate, & not clean for starters.
There is no pool! We didn’t find out until we arrived. The owners knew about this in April according to a quote by one of the owners in a local news story. We could have and would have cancelled before June with a full refund had we known. As previously stated in another review the code for the door given by vrbo was not correct. I had to email, call, & then text before I was given the correct door code. I also had to ask again for a different code for the back stairs. Upon entry, we found the condo was dirty, furniture was broken, & what I’m assuming was dirty clothes from the previous occupants. Be aware that others have the code to the condo and do enter while the condo is occupied. This is a serious security risk. All of the sliding doors do not lock properly either. Finally, the stairs are a slipping hazard. Be very careful with small children and the elderly. Condensation drips from the fan I believe making the stairs slippery.

Overall my vacation was pretty good. One negative thing about the property is that the property description stated a pool was on the property. Well, there is a pool next door that I guess was used in the past, but the problem is the property is closed. The property, Kingfisher Inn was closed back in March 2024 for structure issues. The owners had to know by July that the pool was unavailable. I have small kids and they enjoy a pool and I was expecting a pool. When I contacted the owners they acted surprised that the pool was unavailable. I would have never booked this place if I had known this information. Another negative is the steps. Read the reviews, I thought people were exaggerating about the steps but they are not. If you have anyone over 50 in your group it will be a struggle. The positives of the property were that it was clean and it had a ton of space. Another positive was it is close to Garden City Beach Pier. Overall we enjoyed ourselves but would have rather stayed elsewhere because of the pool.

Too Many Inconveniences. No pool.
We never received any pre-check in messages. Door codes didn’t match what VRBO listed. Doors are tricky to lock. Was told we couldn’t check in early because of cleaners, only to find the place dust covered, floors sticky, dishwasher broken, and fridge that took over 24 hours to cool down. I understand they won’t clean every inch, but thick dust buildup on bed is disgusting. Dishes in pantry and cupboards had food residue in them when we went to use them. Property does not have a pool, just a shared one, at a hotel that has been closed down for quite some time. The owners never alerted us throughout the process. We would not have booked. Owners have not responded about reimbursement for their inaccurate listing and the fact we had no dishwasher until the Thursday right before we left. We had to accommodate appliance repair and make sure no kids alone in the room so they could work. This property is actually on the 3rd floor, not second, as listed. Don’t be fooled. These stairs are a workout. I would not recommend staying here based off of our experience and the owners failure to be accommodating to us.

Great Vacation!!
Location! This is the perfect location. We stayed with 4 kiddos ages 18-20 and they really enjoyed the pier and arcade. The room does have a few stairs but it was not a problem for us. The walk to the beach was very close and not super crowded. The decks are awesome. We had plenty of room and having 3 full bathrooms was nice. The showers had great water pressure and very hot water. The kitchen is stocked with anything you could need. It was a great week and would definitely stay here again 😊

Fantastic location
We arrived in late July for our family vacation. The unit comfortably suited the 8 of us, five adults and three children. The check-in process was seem less and very easy. The steps associated with this unit were a bit daunting for my mother; however, she was able to manage and the oceanfront view and proximity to the Garden City Pier made up for it. We had issues with the air conditiong for the first Three days; however, the property owner did respond to our request overnight. The issue was with finding a HVAC repair company that would actually respond to the property within a timely manner. Overall it was a phenomenal location, and Garden City is family friendly. Lots to do within walking distance, which our teenagers enjoyed!

A week of ups and downs
Upon arriving at the condo with my in-laws, found checking in to be painless minus carrying all our luggage and groceries up 40+ stairs, but when I opened the door thought we were walking in on other guests. After looking around, we found nobody but the condo hadn't been cleaned and we were told not to arrive early due to the cleaners needing time (we arrived 4 hours after we were allowed). With COVID we were quite concerned that not only was the condo not cleaned but the previous guests left feces in all 3 bathrooms as well as other filth throughout the condo. Every bed did not have one piece of "clean" linen. I called the owners who I felt were very sorry and offered their assistance from another state the best they could. They granted me access to their locked closet for their personal linens and cleaning supplies as well as called the cleaning company to have them come first thing in the morning. As much as I didn't feel I should be cleaning after over 11 hours of driving, and with COVID wasn't crazy about cleaning someone's body waste, I was not about to make my in laws do those stairs again as they are in their 70s. I spent the next couple hours cleaning bathrooms and making beds leaving the rest for the cleaners. I kept in contact with the owners telling them what I had to do and what supplies of theirs I used to clean, Carol offered to take 25% off our stay and offered a bottle or two of her wine as well. I considered them very gracious. We didn't take the wine as we aren't drinkers but thought the discount was fair considering what I had to clean and how long it took. The cleaners didn't arrive the next day till almost noon and were gone by 1230, leaving more cleaning to do which my mother in law and I did so that we could feel comfortable, we lost another day of our vacation waiting on the cleaners and cleaning. I told the owners and they put all the blame on the uneducated cleaners stating to me more than once that south Carolina is 48th in the nation for education. Ironically the cleaners put all the blame on the owners stating they allowed the previous guests to stay an extra day and asked the cleaners to not come till Monday (we arrived on Sunday). Our vacation really started on Tuesday... then I can say we enjoyed the location, and the weather was great. We didn't get a 25% discount however, it was 14% so they didn't keep their word and when asked, I was told they wouldn't rent to us again if it wasn't enough!

Amazing views and location
Our family enjoyed this property very much ! It had everything we needed and the location is wonderful! The only drawback was all the stairs , was not a problem for us , but might be for someone older . It was our first time to Garden City , but would definitely come back !

Awesome Location
Awesome beachfront with great outside spaces. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms was great for our adult family members to have their own space. Had a terrific time. There are definitely lots of stairs but was good exercise. Will book again if we go back.

Well everything was great u til a misunderstanding on check out dates . While the owner was called by their cleaning service I immediately let them in and started packing up Right away. The owner was yelling at me in the phone telling me she was reporting me ! When I explained the misunderstanding and let her know we were already tossing our stuff n our car literally and I had let the women in so they could do their jobs. She insisted to want to yell . I was going off the date on the paper . She vowed to report me to vrbo. NOT what I wanted from someone on my first time using vrbo. It is what it is but wow could you please give a person. Min to explain themselves. It’s nice tucked away condo great patios! Kitchen is small & efficient Washer & dryer is 100yr old lol The comforters & blankets had not been washed the one bed had sand in it But I still overlooked all these small Things bcuz I loved the place(garden city) , view and things I am there for. Ps no elevator I was on the 3rd floor Be ready to get ur workout :)

Vacation worth making a tradition
Very smooth check in and started to vacation immediately since the unit was so well equipped and easy to settle into. Wonderful deck/porch and spent as much time as possible there or on the beach. Did ice cream almost every night next door at Painters Ice Cream by the pier. We had a cat 1 Hurricane and the dunes kept us safe from the high tide storm surge. It was great for kids and a vacation worth waiting for all year. I thought the front door stuck a little bit, but by the end of the trip we could close it easier to latch properly. Highly recommend it and you’ll probably consider booking it for the same week next year.

Great Spot!
We had a wonderful time! The location is great for activities. We enjoyed every feature of this house as we didn’t go out other than to the beach due to Covid-19. We had a great time. One minor issue due to myself not paying attention but William was right on it to help us out! Would happily recommend.

Great Location
The condo was great. We loved the decks. The location to the pier was nice and the beach was wonderful. Plenty of space for our family and having the 2 levels was so nice to be able to spread out. Well stocked kitchen for cooking all our meals too. The owners were great to work with.

The owner was very responsive and kind. The condo has a great location...the decks are awesome. The beach was family friendly and safe. It was ocean front and a stone's throw from the Pier . We were able to listen to the live music from our deck at night. The kitchen is fully stocked and the grocery store is less than a mile away. We had plenty of parking. It was great!!! The only drawbacks were the 3 flights of stairs..and distance from some of the bigger attractions such as Broadway on the Beach. We will definitely book this condo again, hopefully next summer!! We had a great time!

Great Family Vacation
Our Family had a wonderful stay at the Condo, the porches were SO RELAXING the days you didn't want to deal with sand and still enjoy being at the beach. I do want to warn anyone that can't handle steps, there are a lot of them but you get your daily exercise in so its a win win.

Fun beach rental as listed
We had a great beach stay here. As a family of 5, there was plenty of room for all of us. The balconies made this condo extra special and was what sold me on the property originally. I was not disappointed. When we were not on the beach, or dining in Murrells-inlet, we were on one of the balconies. The pier band plays until 12 and you can hear them, drink a cocktail, and gaze at the stars. The 3rd floor walk up was not a problem for us, but should be noted if you have any stair issues. Also, Garden City will not allow tents on the beach, only umbrellas; however, we kept our beach gear in the car anyway, and just rode a mile or two down the street to a beach access outside the city limits. If you have time, I recommend Rover boat tours sea shell and lighthouse tour out of Georgetown one evening and a dinner out at Hot Fish Club in Murrells-inlet Overall, a great stay.

Sand Dollar 302 has 2 large floors overlooking the beach. You’ll wake up to sunrise over the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and hear and see the waves below.
Location is in an area close to shops and restaurants, all things that make staying in Garden City easy. Also, we are available by phone - you can call us with any questions.

Location, Location, Location, walk down the stairs into the sand and the view. Two large decks about 18 feet wide. 4 sliding glass doors to the decks.

2 master bedrooms, with their own private baths. The third Bedroom has two single beds.

Upstairs (next to the second master bedroom) there is a day bed with trundle making it very sought after for two families of four or a large family. There is a folding divider separating the upstairs space for privacy. Each upstairs space has a sliding glass door to the upper deck!
