Easy Rustic Escape

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Tahoe North Rentals is a great team to work with. It is a pleasure to talk live with people who know all about the property. On Huis was clean, cozy, comfortable for our 3 relatives. We visited Garwoods, Tahoe National Brewery, and Firesign Cafe. We shopped at Tahoe Style at Everline, and all the shops in Truckee. We enjoyed other breweries in Truckee, and had a nice rest at the Coffee Bar.. It was a wonderful Christmas holiday, based in beautiful Carnelian Bay!

Great cabin for a quick getaway!

We rented this cabin at the very last minute and it was perfect for a quick ski trip. Location is great, a short drive to Northstar, restaurants and a grocery store. As described, the stairs to the upstairs are very steep but a great area for kids to sleep. Beds are comfy and the cabin is cute and cozy for a family getaway.

Comfortable beds - very responsive management

The kids had a great time playing in the yard area and we had tons of snow to make a sledding area. The beds were comfortable and there was a lot of seating space for meals and in LR. The management was outstanding as we had great difficulty getting to the unit due to very long snow commute. We didn’t get to unit until 2 am and despite having chains on the neighborhood roads were pretty bad -luckily we had phone assistance with rental office to get to the unit - we didn’t think we’d make it. Narrow, hilly, full of snow , not cleared well, luckily driveway fir unit was nicely cleared. We would caution anyone with small children or older adults about the loft access. The ladder is vey dangerous for going up/ down to the loft . Additionally the ladder is relight in the middle of the dining room and the adults often banged their heads or shoulders into the steps. Couches and comforters need to be cleaned - we just put sheets over the couches and chairs. Glad to have two bathrooms and we did just fine with the one shower. Carbon monoxide alarm went off but management said ok and recently checked. Still a concern since a few adults had headaches. Overall okay - but not sure we’d rent again.

Great Owner

Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip within a week due to COVID exposure. The owner was very kind and willing to help us during the cancellation process and passed her best wish to our family. I've never met her but would definitely go back to here for our next trip.

Great price, great location- not all the bells and whistles

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There was plenty of space for us to socialize in the dining and living room areas. The up-the-ladder rooms were also spacious enough for 2 people per room. It helped that there was a toilet and sink upstairs - since it would be hard to scale that ladder in the middle of the night! We were all adults in decent shape, so fine with the ladder stairwell. It may be difficult for older adults or young kids. The couple of things we noticed was that the cleaning crew prior forgot a few spots! The couches has several red blotches that looked like tomato sauce? We also had to wash pots a d pans prior to using them. Not a big deal. Also, most of us pulled off the comforters, since they did seem to have a campfire smell to them. We were going to wash them ourselves, but couldn’t figure out the washing machine. The water wasn’t coming out. That was fine, as there were plenty of blankets for the beds to keep us warm. Overall a great place to stay. The price is great for the location. It is a quiet neighborhood, and easy to get to surrounding attractions. Great walking trails near the house. A good spot for a group - as long as a few people don’t mind climbing the ladder stairs to get up to their rooms.

After a busy day of travel on planes and cars, it was great to make a pot of coffee and relax in front of the fireplace on a cool day in June! The home was clean and had everything we needed. August in Tahoe

The property was nice but it has a couple of issues: The ladder and upstairs - not recommended for children under 10. The upstairs doors do not work and the ceiling is very low. One shower - the property is listed to sleep 8, with only one shower this is a problem. The back door does not lock. The dining area is dark - the french doors in the living room need to be replaced / fixed in order to let light in. The back patio area is great and we used it a lot. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook and the BBQ works well. Overall a nice place to stay with the one shower and the ladder being our biggest issues.

On a cross country trip to visit children in California

The neighborhood was beautiful but we were extremely disappointed in the house. For the amount of money we were charged including the rental agency add ons, the house should have been in better shape and updated. The house was not clean. There were dead ants in kitchen and live ants and spiders that crawled on us. There was mold in bathroom. The kitchen was dirty. The grill rusty. The toilet ran constantly.

Tahoe Vacation

Everything was great with the house. The only problem we had was trying to figure out the TV remote. So we ended up not watching any TV which was ok for us since we were out sight-seeing most of the time anyway. Everything else worked great and we had a great time there.

Spacious but fun for one or two couples, but could sleep up to 8. Pleasantly decorated; quiet and reasonably private location. Two bathrooms; one shower.
